Embrace The Shadows by Jenn D. Young is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige. This is the third book in the Shadows Ascending Trilogy.

This is the first series of Jenn's that I have read, and it won't be my last. She did a great job wrapping up the series. I loved the relationship that was built between Lorelei and Vincent over the course of the series. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view. It really brought the story to life.

Sarah and Tim did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romance or fantasy romance.

This was a really great way to end the series. We finally learn what it’s all been building up to, and my heart nearly broke for Lorelei and what it meant for everything that she’d been through. Even though they’re facing the greatest threat of their lives, there’s a lightness of spirit and playfulness in this book that is both unexpected and wonderful. I kind of hate that it’s time to say “goodbye” to these characters already.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author as part of the box set.

Good book, good serie

I liked this book especially because we got finally answers... But not everything was explained and it was a bit upsetting...Would it be another book? Sequel?
The HEA was a bit cheesey. They defeated the big bad villain way too quickly😕 I was expecting a more epic battle...
There was still a paternalistic vibe in this volume, like in the other one, but I found that the FMC grew up a bit and asserted herself , especially in front of her parents. That was good!
So it was a good serie overall. I liked some things, not other things, but it was still interesting to read.

I loved this book and this series. This book delved deeper into the source of Lorelei's powers and there are some really harrowing moments. As great as it was reaching the culmination of all the action and suspense built up through the whole series, the steamy scenes were just as awesome as they were throughout the whole series. Great! Great! Great!

What an AMAZING way to end an incredible series!! I was so sad for this to be over but Lorelei and Vincent were as hot as they were in the last two books. The entire time I was reading I kept wondering where it was headed and as always, this author surprised me!! I can’t wait to see what she has next for us.

Talk about an epic conclusion to a trilogy- this was it! It was so good that I couldn’t believe that it was over! The ending was perfect and exactly what my reader heart could have asked for!

Our little family of characters were perfect and messy and still so good together that you couldn’t make my heart stop gasping whenever something was happening.

Our author knows how to keep you right on the edge the whole time. Even the sexy times were edgy!

Pure bliss for me!

I am glad that I decided to finish the series. I thought the action parts of this book really picked up and made the story more interesting. However, there was still a lot to be desired. Many mistakes in the text, very repetitive language (many times within the same sentence), and very little character development. The sexual scenes started to feel like they were cheap porn instead of a well written romance. This feeling began subtly in the first book, became very obvious in the second, and slightly dialed back in the third. This might just be a part of my taste, so I didn't let it effect my rating to much. Finally, there were many questions that seemed to go unanswered and some plot holes that I will not get into to avoid spoilers. Overall, the trilogy was okay (I would say 3.5 stars). The story had a great basis but left a lot to be desired. I think if it had been developed more, it could have been truly extraordinary.

So Much Love for this Series! Great Story & Listen🎧

Futures Entwined
Ardor Creek, Book 6
By: Ayla Asher
Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott

Ayla Asher created something special in Ardor Creek and it became one of my favorite places to visit. Each book featured a different couple, each book stands on its own though characters may crossover and appear in each other’s books but everything you need to know about them is in the descriptive details and for those who read or listened to the other books seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. This book is Heather Combs and Jeremy Kramer’s story, there is also a treat at the end and all the previous characters are together and we get a brief glimpse into their lives. I love the camaraderie amongst all the friends, also loved how they accepted Heather into their group with open arms. Heather grew up in Ardor Creek but did not have the best of lives growing up, ran away from a not so great life to another and married for the wrong reason. She left her cheating husband, the marriage and Ardor Creek to start over again on her own terms, but when she finds out her ex is spreading lies about her, she decides it is time to return to Ardor Creek, set things straight with her ex and start a new career. She moves into Justine’s new house and she hits it off with her new neighbor Jeremy Kramer. Jeremy, divorced and now single Dad of twin daughters, Heather captures his attention and he wants to get to know her more, but she is adamant about not getting involved with anyone, he is anti relationship and anti-children, that should scare off Jeremy but it doesn’t he is intrigued by her and is up for the challenge and as much as she tried to push him away she winds up giving into him. I adored Jeremy, a nice guy who is a fixer, except Heather is not looking to be fixed and she will do the only fixing for herself. It took me awhile to warm up to Heather, she hides her insecurities behind a facade, it is something she did her whole life and one reason she was a mean girl growing up. She grew on me after a while and redeemed herself once I saw who she really was. She questioned her ability to be around kids, but turned out to be pretty amazing with his daughters. This wonderfully written and wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, some charming and lighthearted moments, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. Ayla Asher, thank you for this amazing series, loved the characters and the fun times, I am going to miss them.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross did an amazing job of bringing the characters and their stories to life and the quality of their character's voices were consistent throughout the entire series. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, took each role, ran with it and made it their own, sounding and just as I pictured the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

This book packed a punch! The finale really worked to tie up some loose ends, leave breadcrumbs to other series (I had no clue this was connected to Snow Falls and now I feel like I need to relisten to those books for Easter eggs haha).

I liked we got some time with Lorelei and her parents, I dot wish we got some explanation how her dad had her brought up after the death (do they have their own story?? I would totally read it if there was one!). It was fun to see Lorelei’s powers grow and how she had to hone it for the final confrontation. I loved seeing her and Vincent go back and forth, how they finally were getting settled in their mating despite all the battles and back things they had to endure. I wasn’t expecting the twist at the end, but it was adorable. I liked seeing the side characters get some airtime and I loved the other mating pair (and how they keep each other on their toes). I appreciated the female characters were not pushovers and they all helped the group defeat the evil baddies. I thought the plot was good, there were some twists to keep it exciting.

Narration was good, I enjoy Sarah’s performances normally and I did here. Tim did a good job with all the heightened emotions and some tough moments Vincent had to endure when things didn't go quite the way he wanted. The love you could feel from the characters (between Lorelei’s parents, the love they had for Lorelei, Nick and his mate, Vincent and Nick’s bromance, etc.). You could feel all the connections and their made family. They also did a good job with the baddies of the story. I was so happy to listen to them get their just rewards. I rolled my eyes every time she was one step ahead but was happy to see her go the way she did haha.

Overall this was a good trilogy, I have been listening to a lot of this author’s backlist and I do like her books. I haven’t come across one that has made me give it a 5 stars, not saying they are bad, but I am waiting for a wow book that sticks with me and puts me in a hangover.

This whole trilogy has been an exciting journey into a fantastic paranormal world. This trilogy has been intriguing and enthralling from the get-go. It is unique and unpredictable. Jenn makes it easy to envision this world. The story is written with such emotionally charged detail that you can’t help but be invested in each character. Its action packed with fascinating paranormal beings. Lorelei is a fun FMC full of strength and determination. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow. I also enjoyed watching her and Vincent’s relationship grow, and their bond strengthen. They are an explosive power couple with a bond that is not only strong, but intense and sizzling. The other characters are just as amazing and are a phenomenal addition to this trilogy. Perfect wrap up for an epic trilogy.

Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige are a dream team. They expertly bring these characters to life and easily convey their emotions. They gave each character their own voice that fit their personalities perfectly. The tone, flow, and pacing were spot on. Sarah’s voice is exactly how I had pictured Loreli to sound. And let’s face it ladies, we all want a strong, sexy male voice to match our alpha males. Tim does not disappoint as he portrays our dominant demon, Vincent. I strongly suggest the audiobook version of the book so you can experience what these two entertaining storytellers have to offer. A great big thank you to PFP and Jenn D. Young for gifting me this (and the first 2) amazing audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Vincent & Lorelei: the conclusion of the trilogy and let me say... Finally we get some action. I mean fighting not sex. 🤣... This book is full of plot twists that you would never expect and somehow by the end, I don't get the feeling that it's the end. Lorelei becomes stronger as her father, an archangel releases his power to her. Through her, Vincent also becomes stronger as they share powers through their bonds. There's a big plan in place to take down their enemies but you know what happens when you're making plans. All hell breaks loose. I enjoyed the series but I finally got a chance to see all the powers that were just barely mentioned in the previous two books. Though, Lorelei is the star of this book, I didn't enjoy that she was still essentially the damsel. There were talks of training her but she didn't get any actual training until the last book and it was nothing to help with physical fights. But she is able to hold her own and the author does well explaining how. Not bad for the final book.

Title: Embrace the Shadows
Author: Jenn D. Young
Format: Audio
Narrators: Sarah Puckett, Tim Paige
Genre: Sci-Fi Romance, suspense
Standalone: Nope, late book in a trilogy
Part of a Series: Book 3 in the Shadows Ascending Trilogy
POV: Lorelei, Vincent
Steam Lovel: Scorching hot
4/5

Embrace the Shadows is the final book in the Shadows Ascending Trilogy. Full of action and steam this was an epic conclusion to Lorelai and Vincent's story. I'd love more from this world but it was wrapped up very well . It had been a while since I listened to the first two books in this series so it took me a few minutes to catch back up to the story and characters but once I did I was sucked in and rooting for Lorelei and Vincent in their quest to take down the Syndicate.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsessions and Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review. .

What a great conclusion to the Shadows Ascending trilogy. I had such a great time listening to this one, Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige were just great. And I loved how it all ended up. The action, spice and intrigue were all there and I devoured this whole series in just a few days.

I continued to love Lorelei and Vincent so much. These two had amazing chemistry and could have taken on anything in the world together. I also really loved Nicolai and his mate, I'm actually hoping that maybe we'll get to see them with their own story someday, or maybe just a fun novella? I don't know, I just need more. The bad guys were so bad and I loved watching them get what was coming to them. And Lorelei's parents and their past were so great to learn about.

I really loved this series and was so happy we got a nice long epilogue for them, especially since they visited my favorite people in Snow Falls, Montana. I'll definitely be listening to this one again.

Embrace The Shadows( Shadows Ascending Trilogy Book 3) by Jenn D Young
Narration by Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige.

Loved this series. Creativity abound in this fantasy world full of mystical characters. The strength of Lorelei really came through in this finale and showcased her heritage and her destiny. I loved how the characters were coupled together and were bound and mated making them stronger. It was wonderful seeing everyone again, I hoped that uncle Kanul would be present for Lorelei in her final battle. It was an epic finish to a fantastic first trilogy for a creative author who really set a high bar for her future books.

I heard all of these books on audio which throughly expanded my enjoyment of the series because both Sarah and Tim are amazing actors in all their work.

Amazing work by Jenn, Sarah and Tim!

Great end to this Trilogy!

Another great book in this series. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the suspense of what was going to happen.
The final fight wasn’t quite what I was expecting but still good. The epilogue was a great way to close this story.
For me, there were some avenues left unexplored and if this wasn’t a trilogy I would be expecting book 4. Author Jenn D. Young puts all her heart and soul into her writing and it shows with every word.
The narration was very good. Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige did an amazing job.
This is book 3 and has an HEA.
I highly recommend this trilogy series.

This book has so many potential. For me it was just okay. At the beginning I was loving it but as time goes on, it got bored. The heroine was suppose to be the strongest person but there’s nothing to really provide it. Everyone keeps on telling her that she’s the strongest which is redundant. As for fighting goes, there’s not much and how she killed the strongest ppl so easily without even lifting a finger boggles me. They have sex more than training or fighting lol. Even when she’s capture or in the middle of life and death she thinks of sex. Sorry I love paranormal but this was not it for me.

This is the third book in the Shadows Ascending Trilogy. The story continues where the second book left off. Lorelei and Vincent's story is entertaining and fast-paced. The supporting characters are interesting. The world building is original. There is a lot going on in this installment. This is a good conclusion to the series, but it really don't feel like this is the end. Can we expect another book, or a spin-off series? Tim Paige and Sarah Puckett did a great job with the narration. #TheFlock

The final chapter in Lorelei's and Victor's story is very good. In this book we got the closure that we all needed. Lorelei gets to know more about her powers from a very special person and Nick also gets what he deserved. I really love Nick, such great chatecter. Adriana and her banda of missfits Will deserved everything that happends. A great way to end the book, the final chapter is really the cherry on top.

Brilliant read. loved this series.
Lorelei has been taken by the enemy but within their fold are those who wish to be seen as allies but previous actions have shown that they cannot be trusted? or can they? Lorelei has many decisions to make with limited information. Vincent is trying to support Lorelei the best way he can but Lorelei is stubborn and wants to do things her way. whether they help or not.

Loralei is finding out she has more powers than she thought. She has come such a long way from where she started in book 1.
As they get ready to defeat Adrianna, even more secrets are revealed and a couple of surprises along the way.
Loralei and Vincent a ton of time together, very steamy - they just can't keep their hands off each other.
The epilogue/ending was a little too 'tied up neatly in a bow' for me, too perfect in a stereotypical way

The story is good, but i feel like the language used is not really appropriate for the characters. Dialogues feel a bit superficial at times. Also, i feel that the scene in the hospital had no reason to be. I found it distasteful. Narration was good.

This was the conclusion to Loreli's story. We got most of the answers we were looking for, and a few big bombshells were dropped. If you are a fan of overprotective alpha males, then this series is for you. The narration was good and helped bring emotion to the story.

Audio Review:
Embrace the Shadows (Shadows Ascending Trilogy, Book 3) is the finale of Lorelei and Vincent's paranormal romance. This supernatural adrenaline-fuelled series finale left some promenade's uncharted, perhaps a spinoff series? Suspense drizzled through the smexy story. Good character development and world building descriptions and settings. A sweet tasting epilogue to windup.

Sarah Puckett, Tim Paige are a exceptional cast chosen to narrate this series. Exceptional performance by both narrators. Sarah nails it as usual and Tim Paige was excellent also. Perfect pace and tone.

Review:
Story: I've been waiting to read this for a long time. I know that it's been out for a few years now. I wanted to listen to it in audiobook. I listened to the first two. They are narrated by one of my favorite narrators. I now wish that I had read it when it was released and then listened to it when they audiobook came out. I still plan to read all three of the trilogy again. I own all three of them in paperback and audiobook. I think I might even own them in ebook too. I'm not sure on that one. I am so sad that this is over! I'm not ready to let go of these characters yet. I want to keep reading about many of them.
Characters: I will always relate to Lore in many ways. She's so sassy and feisty. She will eventually comply, but not without making someone work for it first. I also really adore Nic. He's another one that will really make you work for things. They are my two favorite characters of the trilogy.
Critiques: None
Narration: Puckett is a really amazing narrator. She's got a lot of talent. She used to be one of my favorites. To the point where I'd immediately buy an audio if I saw that she narrated it. It didn't even matter what the audiobook was about. As long as she was the one that narrated it.
Final Thoughts: Again, I'm very sad that this trilogy is over. I could spend lots of hours reading about this world with all of these characters. Maybe one day the author will pick up some kind of companion series. Or some back stories. Who knows? I'd love to have some people to talk about this trilogy with!
