After witnessing an unsettling tragedy at an early age, the narrator of this dark tale moves to the city where he furthers an obsession built on that horrible day. A naturally talented young man, Redmond pursues a career in acting and is willing to take on only the most prestigious roles. No matter what it takes. Marten Hoyle’s Dreamer and Poet present a disturbing tale of the dangers of obsession and demoniacal forces.
Marten Hoyle is a Literary Endeavor based in the United States. The project is held anonymously in the hands of a being known as Vate C. Carmen at the Eglantine Home for the Poetically Unsound.
A story of a man obsessed. This short novel reminds me, in a way, of Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado in that the antagonist’s reasoning is clouded by revenge. This book reminds me of Stephen Gilbert’s Ratman’s Notebooks but with a Shakespearean feel. An engaging read!
