Published in 1980, 'Halifax - An Illustrated History of a Classic World War II Bomber' tells the story of the famous aircraft supported by 200 well captioned photos and other illustrations. The history text is a mixture of overall operational details combined with detailed accounts of individual actions. The text contains a truly mind-boggling number of typos, but surprisingly this does not affect the readability of the narrative and you do end up a lot better acquainted with the type history. Be aware that this often means, in my opinion, the that technical aspects of the story are often a little vague, so look elsewhere if that is what you are after.
