— Nothing proves as dangerous to her future than the past — When Harley Reed discovers her boyfriend has been cheating on her, she can’t afford to give in to sorrow. Now she’ll need to rebuild her life and prepare for the sudden, unexpected news of motherhood. But how, at such a time that should be joyous, can she hope to flourish utterly alone? Harley soon finds there’s truth in the saying that it’s always darkest before the dawn. After finding and taking care of a man who’d been brutally beaten, everything begins to change. Vice president of the Black Hawk Motorcycle Club, Axel Rhoads is rough around the edges, but he may stand to change Harley’s whole existence with his Scottish brogue and unforeseen warmth. As romance blossoms, it looks as though there may be hope for happiness, but Harley’s troubled past will put this new love to the test.
Sapphire is probably my favorite book in this series. I think it's because I can relate to Sapphire a lot more than I can Emerald. It is longer than the first book. I just love this book so much.
The first part started well but then just dragged for the next 300+ pages. I felt like I read more about what they had for breakfast every day then any romance between the two leads.
Axe meets Harley after he's dumped on the roadside as she's returning from a big blowup of her own. It's a whirlwind from there of a romance. He's a biker with a heart of gold and she's a quiet homebody that seems like a scared kitten when backed into a corner. This definitely isn't your typical motorcycle club book. There's no ranty romance scenes, There's no over the top alpha Bad boy and black leather writing a Harley. This is the second book I've read from this author and while it's fastly different I have to say that I'm Left on satisfied. It started up pretty decent and then for me it just kind of fell flat With the story line with the dried of the characters. I finished it because I wanted to know what actually happened but I will not be marking this as a reread.
This was a little slower then the first book but not less enjoyable I thought that the ex would make a play for the baby in some way glad he got what he deserved. The young couple at the beginning of the book it would be good to see them again he is a biker of course so fingers crossed
Sapphire (Harley) has one crazy mother and sister. The storyline is good but I just don't connect with the characters. Sapphire is bit clingy too. She's tough as nails like Emerald and that's okay. Hawk is actually my favorite character.
I wish that it was a little longer. Also never explain why Reaper was so interested in her. Did she get a tattoo?? Other then that the story was amazing.
This book started good but that ending was eh. Did the baby leave the nice, what happened to the sister/mother? I won't be continuing with this series.
