Flow: Worlds in a Tiny Table

I started a dialogue with myself because of the pandemic restrictions on my daily life that no one could have imagined. I captured the image that overflowed from familiar items and found the joy of creation in creating a world. My eyes were caught by old photographs. They were clearer than I had imagined, like a mirror. I used natural light as a motif for everyday tools and familiar tableware. And they were reproduced by the platinum print technique with rich gradation expression. I tried to express eternity in a beautiful tone. This work is the third work that imagines the world that expands infinitely from the inner zone, following the first work that explored the world of “Wabi-Sabi" and the second work that shot "Mexico” at the 1980s. It also called platinotypes, are photographic prints made by a monochrome printing process involving platinum. It's all hand made, and it is the most durable of all photographic processes. It is estimated that a platinum image, properly made, can last thousands of years. 地球規模のパンデミックにより個人の移動の自由が制限され、自分自身を見つめる日々を送るなか、私は身近な品々から溢れ出るイメージを捉え、一つの世界を制作することも豊かな創作だと考えた。モチーフを探して、ふと目に留まったのは古い写真だった。想像以上に鮮明で、まるで鏡のような印画紙に写る当時の人々の姿に私は心揺さぶられた。 身の回りの道具や使い慣れた食器をモチーフに自然光にて撮影。豊かな階調表現を持つプラチナプリント技法にて再現。美しいトーンの中に永遠性を表現しました。 「和」の世界を探求した第一作、８０年代の「メキシコ」を撮影した第二作に続く、内なる空間から無限に広がる世界をイメージした第三作。 プラチナプリントとは： １９世紀後半 イギリスで開発されたモノクロ印画法で豊かな深みのある階調表現が可能な写真
