This historical novel tells the tale of the people of Halifax who did not lose their Nova Scotian humour in the long, exhausting days that followed their city's darkest hour.
A rather disjointed account of the Halifax Explosion and the reactions of the surviving population. This seems to be drawn on first-hand accounts, because it has a definite personal approach, but there was just too much bouncing around among too many characters for me to stay fully engaged in it.
