Nathan has been bitten by a deader. Nothing is worse than watching someone you care about teeter between life and death.
When Alissa sees an opportunity to save Nathan, she is willing to take it. However, to do so will put her and members of her group in more danger than they have faced since the first days of the outbreak.
Her choice is to risk everything to save one man or lose him forever to the ranks of the living dead.

I can't believe Alissa and Chris found the time to get it on while in the middle of an important mission, when there are zombies on the other side of the door. Good Lawdy!!
This is an action packed run through a zombie apocalypse. From the very first book on it has been nonstop action and thrills. An outstanding cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Alyssa an ER nurse in Boston working her normal shift and then all hell breaks loose. The zombie apocalypse begins. Follow her journey as she fights to get home to safety and get her cat named archer. Then on to who knows where to survive. The apocalypse is spreading faster than people cannot run it. As Alyssa journeys to find safety she picks up fellow survivors and has a number of harrowing experiences and battles. You feel what is going on in the story and become engaged with the characters themselves. It’s like you were part of their group. Do not get too attached to any one member or character though as you never know who will survive. It is a zombie apocalypse and no one is safe. Not only are there zombies out there but there are the typical asinine humans that are out only for their own self gratitude. A fast and entertaining read from beginning to end. Check it out now.
I enjoy zombie books...maybe it's because a) it will never happen and b) I like to see what people will do in times of stress.
I liked the first book of the series (which is why I read the others), book 2 was not quite as good, and so forth...but I was invested at this point. That all changed with this book.
Spoiler:
Here we have a reluctant heroine who professes love to one man and after he is bitten, but survives, she goes on a dangerous mission with a group of experienced military operators. She and the other civilian are the only two to survive the mission and on top of that, they have sex (by the way, this other civilian is NOT the guy she professes to love). On top of everything, there is a obvious message in book that she does not sleep around. OK, I realize the zombie apocalypse will change people, but....really?
I read the last in this group (1-6) but I won't be reading any more...

This is why I get mad at male authors trying to write about strong female characters. They just don’t understand us.
They take strong female characters and turn them into fucktards.
The female character causes the majority of marines to die because she doesn’t listen or follow orders. Then sleeps with someone that’s not even her lover. She uses him encaustic she is emotional and cannot process things appropriately.
Sigh, what a waste! Won’t be continuing.

Out of all the books in the series this one gripped me the least. Also who the fuck has sex in an apocalypse in a hospital with the dead outside the door. I almost stopped reading then and had it been an actual book and not an ebook it would have been launched at a wall to stay there for a few hours. This book felt like it was pandering to what people wanted and was a bit forced.

Another series that starts great but frizzles off due to dumb decisions by characters that should know better and obvious plot/story lines. Ended up skipping to the end. Cliffhanger will NOT compel this reader to waste any more time on this story. Sad because it started out so good.
Like all of the books in this series, the action keeps me reading for hours. Just when I decide to stop something new happens so I have to see what is going to happen next.
The group separates as Alyssa and 3 others head off to a military safe location to get help for Nathan. Things are looking up but you know that's not going to happen.Looking forward to the next book especially because of the cliffhanger ending.
Risk without reward is not fun. Maybe Alissa will sort out her true feelings and just with her emotions. Can the group get a break? Surely don't look like it. Sweet and simple story definitely not boring.
I've read these first five books in just a couple of days. And now on to the next one. They are ones i just can't put down so I hope the author finishes the series before i do....lol
Another page turner. I will admit to being disappointed in our Nurse Alissa in this one. There are some things that she does that just aren’t….well, they aren’t right. This one left me sad, mad and ready fir the next one!
God this author is good. But leaving it on a cliff hanger! This zombie story is brilliant. From the first chapter of the first book I’ve been pulled in and am along for the ride. The characters seem so real and the story flows very well!
I highly recommend this series. Book 5 and its still going strong. Very exciting and lots of nail biting moments. Great storyline and can't wait for the next one!
Really good. I kept telling myself, one more chapter.... The characters are very well written and you're routing for them to make it out and find some form of peace.
