Great introductory book to intermittent fasting. Dr. Jockers explains the benefits well and in depth in easy to use language that is great for the lay person. He also gives a great plan on how to get started with fasting. He does deal with extended fasting and gives some good principles for that.
I found the section on fasting for chronic disease, where he addresses cancer, digestive health, autoimmune diseases, and neurodegeneration, to be very helpful and not something easy to find in other fasting books.

Dr. Jockers clearly explains many factors affecting metabolism and then introduces fasting as one tool to achieve your fitness/health goals. I read this book during a five-day fast and confirmed many of his book's claims while reading. Dr. Jockers covers the technical details like HGH and Mitophagy while explaining the steps to take for a successful fast. This book helped me with my first long fast and on day five I never felt more alive and aware (and really clean with no poop inside).

THE reference book for fasting.

I am reading on kindle, but am ordering physical copy for my reference library. This is THE book on fasting. I have never found this much well documented information in one place. I recommend this book to anyone wanting info on fasting, from how to, practical tips, to deep science.

A good beginners primer on fasting. If you already have a bit of fasting experience, you may want something a bit less basic. I found many of the sections to be repetitious which became a bit annoying.

Quick easy read if you don’t know much about fasting. Can be repetitive but good info. I personally like The Obesity Code by Jason Fung better. I do like his fasting helps suggestions though.

Good quick read on fasting

Review of literature on fasting; lots of repetition of benefits indifferent chapters; mentions problems encountered in fasting and how to deal with them. Would recommend but I still feel Dr Jason Fung as 1st read on subject
