The world is in a state of existential crisis sociologically and environmentally. There is sound scientific evidence that humankind's tenure of this planet could be ending or, at best, undergo a painful paradigm shift. Few have never experienced an existential crisis. The confusion and the loss of purpose that arises can be profound. This collection of essays vividly describes the author's inner journey to resolve the vast imbalances that arose within him triggered in his subconscious. Years of research and personal work helped him overcome these imbalances from ignorance about our true nature. The essays take you from Egypt's pyramids to Peru, India, and many other sacred sites to uncover and translate ancient wisdom into leading-edge narratives, laying a path to our evolution into what he describes as Unity Consciousness. The book invites the reader to feel whether what he proposes resonates intuitively rather than a solely cerebral approach.
Kenneth MacFarlane has a talent for webbing the content of a thoughtful collection that is approachable and succinct without simplifying profound messages. I greatly appreciate the essay format because it allows the reader time to pause between essays to digest, feel and develop their perspective. The author's language is personable and not overly esoteric so you may feel more connected with the content and writer. Ken delivers a launching pad for deeper introspection and self-awareness AND/OR guides you deeper into your quest of self-knowledge. The Algorithm of Consciousness is much like a guidebook; a starting point for some on a spiritual path or even those who have been trying to consciously weave their way for many years (I mean... aren't we all on a spiritual path??!). An added bonus are the references that are thoughtfully sprinkled throughout the book. The references provide a wonderful, even poetic, support that not only assist in growing trust in the thoughtful, credible author, but they are references you can always turn to in another time when you want (or are ready) to go deeper. I hold so much gratitude for Kenneth MacFarlane's work and I know I will be revisiting The Algorithm of Consciousness for a lifetime.
