Disciplining the Duke

INSTA-LOVE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN . . .
ANNABELLE WINTERS STYLE!

So I just got hired by a shady lawyer with a clip-on tie . . .

To coach the new Duke of Dorshire!

Sounds great, I say. How old is the young orphaned Duke? Eight? Ten? Twelve?

He's thirty-seven, says the sketchy lawyer. Also, he's American.

Oh, and don't mention you've been hired to coach him.

And no, I can't tell you who hired me to hire you.

I stare at the lawyer and wonder what kind of fool he thinks I am . . .

You know how they say in poker that if you don't know who the patsy is, then you're the patsy?

Well, I never played poker.

And ever since my mum and dad took me to Buckingham Palace when I was five . . .

I never could resist royalty.

If you've read my other novella series, you know how wild my stuff can get. It's not for everyone, but maybe it's for you ;)

Drama and madness. Twists and turns. Chaos and crazy.

Sweetness with a touch of darkness.

No cheating. No cliffhangers. Always a happy ending.

This is insta-love, Annabelle Winters style.

What can I say? It's quick, intense, way over-the-top and steamy. Xyla and Xavier's will give you quite a few chuckles and yes, some cringes. This is either a love it or hate it type of book. Myself, I thought it was fun if a bit crazy. I'm freely posting a frank review.

"I'm an American Duke ina fake fur Cape and drunk off my *** on old English wine"

Xyla had been captivated by the thought of royalty since she visited Buckingham palace as a child, so when a lawyer on behalf of a client seeks her out her skills in British coaching for an untameable American Duke who cant know the real reason she is in his new household, she accepts. From the start this job sounded shady but she needs the money and a jobs a job. Xavier had lost himself, for years in women and hangovers, when his uncle Duke of Dorshire passed his estate to him, hes not going to take the British class seriously, hes going to defile the Dukeship with his American ways. Starting with the curvy woman at his hotel room who introduces herself as his help. It's not long till Xavier discovers Xyla isn't really his uncles help and they both begin to wonder who the mystery client is and what they had planned for them. One thing that even they couldn't plan on is the feeling that grows between the two. Is it fate? Destiny? Who knows but what they do know is it's real, possibly the only real thing there is. This is a rip roaring, laugh out loud Rom-Com with all the trimmings! A well written story that has you captivated from the get go! The characters burst with energy and sizzle with chemistry and develop well through out.  A fun loving fast paced read.

I received a free copy of the steamy novella Disciplining the Duke:Curvy for Keeps book 8: Xyla and Xavier by Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely.
This is a complicated and fast paced, drama packed, entertaining and complicated steamy tale of secrecy, greed and assassination that begins years before the present day and ends happily.
Financially struggling curvy British Image Coach Xyla finds herself hired to instruct the new Duke of Dorshire on proper decorum but finds the former lawyer, now unfiltered alcoholic American sensational blogger, Xavier a challenge to more than just her skills and sense of decency.
18+ recommended for intimate scenes.

This is a wild story filled with great writing and metaphors like “Our phones buzz like bees in the garden of our love”. Be prepared for some over the top but highly entertaining antics of Xavier, the American Duke and social media influencer.

The very proper and British Xyla is sent to tame him but he rubs off on her (not literally) rather early in the book. She recognizes his eccentricities and starts to wonder who hired her and why. It also becomes clear that one or both of them are in danger and she oddly feels safe with Xavier. It doesn’t hurt that Xavier’s debauchery is skilled and thorough.

Don’t think I am going to spoil this for you - you need to read this book to appreciate it

Xavier is an American social media star becoming an english Duke with the death of his oncle Edward, Duke of Dorshire. With his who-gives-a-damn attitude he isn’t exactly someone the english royalty was waiting for...
Xyla is hired to teach him manners, even if she’s more used to train kids and dogs on good behavior. Is she really able to tame the new Duke of Dorshire?

Hilarious! Just hilarious! I couldn’t find a way to read this in one go. My belly hurt so much from laughing . This is so good a short story! Did I mention it was hilarious? But beside the hilarity it’s also actually right. So it’s true the saying that if it’s fake enough it’s real!

Annabelle Winters strikes gold again with the steamy insta-love story Disciplining The Duke. This book is entertaining, humorous, and easy to read. The storyline hits on current social themes while keeping true to the author's ability to spin an over the top yet somewhat believable steamy hot sex-filled love at first sight tale. Xavier and Xyla are the perfect characters for the story of an American Duke living in the fake world of social media and his British commoner sent to coach him on royal etiquette. These characters brought humor and their own realness to the story that kept me engaged. I read the book in a little less than a couple of hours.

When fake becomes real...

What an interesting story. An american socialite inherits a dukedom but he needs etiquette lessons and meanwhile he is targeted for assassination. I tells ya, this story had me all over the place. Xander is soooo over the top that he is cool, down to earth and hilarious. Xyla is prim and proper and tries her best with Xander but her instincts are real good. She knows something squirrely is going on. These two are so far on opposite sides that it is funny but they feel the attraction that is dirty, sexy and sweet. Very entertaining.

Over the top delightful!
Warning signs:
1. Hired by a shady lawyer with a clip-on tie to coach the new Duke of Dorshire.
2. Said “orphaned" Duke is 37 and an American.
3. No mentioning you’ve been hired, and you can’t be told who hired him (the lawyer).
There was, however, no mention of the fact that he was targeted for assassination, a fact that also puts her life in danger.
Somewhat tamer that some of her earlier books, this book demonstrates the depth of Ms. Winters writing skills and imagination. Be prepared to laugh so hard you’ll have tears in your eyes.

Xavier knows from the moment he sees Xyla that she is special and though Xyla is supposed to be teaching him all the proper ways to behave, her scandalous thoughts each time she lays eyes on him are giving Xavier plenty of ideas what to do once their alone. But as secrets from Xavier’s past are revealed and their lives put in danger, Xavier will show Xyla that his unconventional ways are just what is needed to save them both. Can Xavier convince Xyla that his spontaneity is exactly what she needs as he knows she is the only woman for him?

Quite convoluted plot
Good story with a rather surprising plot, sometimes bordering on ridiculous, but still, the story is pretty good.
However, what I liked was the crazy crazy side of the hero Xavier the Duke, who is put in touch with Xyla, an Englishwoman who is supposed to create a new image and a new education for him to be more royal, despite his American upbringing which seems to be a little rough.
I really liked the look on social media.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Hold on and enjoy the ride with this one

Disciplining the Duke is the eighth book in the Curvy for Keeps series and is the story of Xyla and Xavier in an OTT, fabulously fun, entertaining and steamy. This story has so much going on besides the developing relationship but Annabelle Winters weaves it all together along with interesting characters into a coherent story.
This was a real rollercoaster ride that will leave a big smile on your face by the end and a twinkle in your eye.

Xander inherits a Dukedom and has to be taught in the ways of British society and Duke responsibilities. Xyla is hired for that task. They are funny and warm and just great characters and the way the come together. There was action, suspense, and intrigue. There is a murder plot to do away with both of Xander and Xyla in different ways. You could feel the connection between the two. This is a great story.

I've been reading the series, and while each book has there ups and downs, the plots still manage to make sense or make at least a viable story. This one just didn't. We have an American Duke, Xavier, who comes to Britain to take over for his deceased uncle, where he meets Xyla, a woman hired to teach him how to be a Duke. Turns out, the British government wants him dead....because he is on social media.
The story doesn't make sense, the details that even get you from beginning to end are thrown in just to create a "mystery" of a story. I would have liked to see the author add in details and make the story longer so that everything could be explained better.

0k, WHAT!?!
Ms. Winters puts down some crazy stuff in this book.
Xyla and Xavier (we're almost to the end of the alphabet) are our protagonistsis in this story of opposites attract, and the Queen's Secret Service (MI-6) end up in the mix.
Who doesn't like a little James Bond in their storyline?
If you enjoy insta love tales with high heat and plenty of shenanigans, this book is for you.

This book was not what I was expecting. It was way better and a lot of fun. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I will say that Annabelle Winters takes the trope of a Duke and a commoner and turns it on its head, inside out and sideways. Fast paced, fun, unusual and truly unique if you like romance then go get this book. I highly recommend it.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a romance full of humor, a few twists, numerous eye rolls, lust and love. Xyla and Xavier have a short story but it is packed full. What do you do when you go from American to royalty, you hire help to either fake it or make it. I enjoyed the characters and storyline was really interesting.

He is American but also a Duke and now someone has come to his door. She is told to teach the Duke how to behave as an Duke not the spoiled brat who does not want to behave. She is not allow to tell him who she really is and neither does she know who hired her. How is this going to go? Will she be able to keep why she is there hidden? Who hired her? Why? See just how they get on

Disciplining the Duke is book eight in the series Curvy for Keeps by author Annabelle Winters. This one is so real- like what’s happening today- which makes it all the more intriguing. Then of course Annabelle adds her own twists and it becomes the very thing you crave.

This was fun and surprising. Not that the main characters hit it off but the reason why they got together. You know what they say: if something seems too good to be true, look further. I’m glad Xyla did. Even if I don’t really get the selfie-making it was still very entertaining to read!

No multiple birthdays this book... LoL.

The thought that big men with big dicks produce multiple births is ridiculous. Every book before this had multiple births. There is only one sexual part in this book and it was hot. We'll see what is to come
