This is a weird book.

I am not really sure what the purpose is.

I know that the author and her daughters like Mo Willems, but this book doesn’t have the flow of a Willems book. So many random things kept happening, I couldn’t tell what was going on. The book started out with interactive activities like drawing on the page and making wishes, but then it transitioned into a story about a unicorn and her sister, and there was farting and pizza and vacuums and underwear and Covid-19 and I was just extremely confused. I feel like the author has potential to be a good author, but she needs to have an actual goal and plot line for the book. If she wants her kids and nieces to contribute to the book, their contributions need to actually fit in with the overall goal of the book.

I received an advance copy of this book for free, and I am writing this review voluntarily.

A cute, amusing story about unicorns until you get to the last few pages and it tries to shame you into wearing your mask.

Sorry, but I didn't like it.

Make a Wish for a Unicorn is a silly book, in a good way, with an interesting interactive component. I suspect that children would have a lot of fun with the participatory nature of the book, such as shaking the book to wake the unicorn up. The illustrations in this book are adorable. The attempt to bring the current pandemic into the story was forced and awkward. All in all a fun little book with unicorns. Check out our other reviews at MRG Publishing .com

A very silly Unicorn Story

Giggles, Giggles and more Giggles. This silly little romp with a Unicorn is sure to have children making funny faces and laughing. It’s illustrations are pretty perfect for the subject matter.

It’s a story that the kids will want to read or hear repeatedly. If it was written by a guy the jokes would have been called dad jokes. It was written by a mom of 4 little girls who’s mom jokes evidently were honed by experience.

A delightful unicorn story!

Young girls love unicorns and will enjoy this delightful interactive book that even addresses the pandemic - but first, they have to make a unicorn. I laughed out loud when I saw the farting unicorn and the unicorn picking out a pair of panties instead of a mask to wear due to the virus. The author uses short phrases and cute, simple illustrations with consistent colors which gives the young listener images they can focus on easily.

Make a wish!

Who wouldn't want to make a wish for a unicorn! I feel that the author is encouraging children to wish for what they want in life and strive to accomplish that. I think the story was a good concept and children will be able to understand but even though you really can't get a unicorn making a wish or dream is necessary.

Hilarious

Hilarious book great for very young children! I love the prompts for parents saying how to animate the book while reading (shake the book, pat the unicorn’s head, etc.). Very cute! My daughter will love this book!

Lovely illustrations full of cute unicorns. They conveyed good emotions and great settings. Story also communicated the useful message on basic hygiene and precautions in the era of COVID.

A great story!

Thank you so much for visiting this page! As a mother of 2 young daughters, I want to encourage books reading instead of digital devices. A book must be fun, interacting, and interesting, not only for the child but for the person who read as well. I strongly urge parents/caregiver to read this book to your little girl and use your creativity and construct a quality experience for her.
Make A Wish For A Unicorn will bring adults and children into an imaginative world. Remember the time when you are still a child where you will use your imagination and enter into a pretend world, Make a wish For A Unicorn is the perfect guide book that will bring you back to the moment and you can show your little girl the perspective of looking at the various actions and expressions of the unicorn.
The benefits:
-Teach your child to use their imagination and let them use their creativity to let the unicorn do anything they can think of.
-Encourage pretend play and participate in the imagination world.
-Teach early readers to associate vocabulary to the object, with colorful illustrations to teach about colors.
-Promote the sister relationship
-Discourage mobile devices and focus on family bonding time instead
-An encouraging and funny way to influence children wearing face masks
-To discuss about emotions when the unicorn is crying
