Juliette Sparkles, resident Pretty Beach midwife fell hook, line and sinker for Luke Burnette and strolled off into a wonderful Christmas after a very lovely kiss under the mistletoe. Now, we catch up with her as Spring begins to warm up Pretty Beach and her dreams of an old house, riding around Pretty Beach on a blue vintage bike and planting a garden all of her own really do start to come true.
But, as she is surrounded by daffodils and tulips, the ups and downs of the last few years begin to fade and everything is looking ever-so rosy, some tragic news comes her way and she doesn’t know quite how to react and knocks Juliette’s world for six.
As Pretty Beach blossoms and blooms we find out that for Juliette and Luke, the pair who pretty much fell in love from the day they laid eyes on each other, it’s not always quite as easy as it seems.
Will it all work out for Juliette or will things from the past make her realise that there is no such thing as living the dream?
Another treat to be at Pretty Beach. This time with Juliette and her family. Each of these stories is a wonderful snippet of life at the beach. Polly Babbington writes such warm and engaging characters and the setting is perfect as always.
I can not express how beautiful this book is except it’s in the title. It’s true, it’s like a wonderful dream. Pretty beach is a place where I’m sure everyone wants to live. Somewhere to get back the days of old where people smile and say good morning. Going back to the days of talking over the garden fence and when pay it forward was first invented. I come from a generation of recycling and waste not want not. To read all about this up cycling and the town people’s adventures really takes you out of the trails and tribulations of ones own life! I Simply can’t put them down. Polly babbington has a unique way of making you feel that your actual there! And even though she has said it’s her imagination I would love to know the places she has visited to be able to draw on that imagination. Started the next book already 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
This series of story's about the people of pretty beach rolls along slotting together you feel like your drawn into a charming seaside town with a varaity of residents finding out the people of variouse houses you forget about all our problems which we are facing this sunny happy place wish I was there walking along the sea front looking into the shops going for meal and engoying the view
“A Pretty Beach Dream” is a delightful follow on featuring Juliette Sparkles and Luke. A few obstacles are thrown in to try and unbalance them, but will they be solved? Polly Babbington had me in (happy) tears again by the last page. A lovely series that I am absolutely loving and I cannot wait for her next book which I have pre-ordered and waiting to snuggle down with in December.
Another delightful story in the Pretty Beach saga. I just love the way that so many of the characters from past stories appear in the different books. Polly has the knack of painting such good pictures with words that I can imagine exactly what the town looks like. Eagerly await the next in the series. Perfect escapism during lockdown restrictions.
These books are amusing, easy reading, don’t want to put down, heart wrenching and feel good books. Fancy whisking yourself off by the seaside in Pretty Beach living someone else’s dreams for a while along with a coffee and a bun. Just read this series.
Luke and Juliette are finally getting serious but as usual there are problems, especially when Juliette's cousin calls with devastating news. Lots of work but she finally buys mermaid cottage, then the work begins to make it a home.
Come for the story, stay for the mystery of the soon to be ex wife and the house remodel! This book (and the house renovation) will fuel my dreams for a while!!
