The Bedtime Bunny: A Magical Approach to Happy, Healthy Bedtimes

Rate this book
The Bedtime Bunny motivates young kids to go to bed – and stay there – using the power of magic (and occasional rewards!). In this engaging and fun story, children learn why all the magic creatures need them to stay in their beds, even the unicorns and baby dragons. After reading the book, children draw a "magic carrot" and include their names and bedtimes, then leave it outside their front door. A magic Bedtime Bunny will come hopping while they are asleep, and might leave little surprises for them to find in the mornings (but only if the kids are in their beds!). HOW IT The Bedtime Bunny uses the evidence-based behavior strategy of positive reinforcement to motivate young children to stay in bed. Sets The book tells the story of why all the magical creatures need children to go to bed. The bunny won’t leave a surprise if kids aren’t in bed! Child “Buys In”: Children create a "magic carrot" and write their names and bedtimes on it (simple instructions included), and leave it by the front door to request their own Bedtime Bunny. Occasional, Small Initially, small rewards should be frequent to reinforce good bedtime behaviors. Over time, rewards can be more random or just on special occasions. Even the smallest treat – a few sprinkles in a bag, a note by the door – can bring so much joy to little ones.

This has to be one of my favorite bedtime stories, ever!! The story of the bedtime bunny is written in rhymes that flow beautifully over each page. I'm a huge advocate for positive reinforcement, and that's exactly what you are teaching with this book. If your child is sleeping when the bunny arrives, sometimes that bunny will leave little surprises. Whether they is a little note, or a toy it reinforces that they want to make sure they are sleeping when bunny comes! In the story the bunny has to follow the smell of a magic carrot that the child leaves out - without this the bunny can't get into the house. In the back of the book, thus magic carrot is supplied. On the back of the carrot your child writes his/her name and their bedtime! Now, you can buy the book by itself (carrot included), but I personally suggest you get the whole package! The package includes the Hardcover book, the super soft bedtime bunny (with cape), coloring book, and stickers. Also after you get the book, you can go online and request your personalized certificate.

I was lucky enough to be sent s free copy for review.

As a mom, I know all too well the battles that occur at bedtime.

The Bedtime Bunny is a whimsical tale that shows children why it is important for them to get to bed & stay there (if they don’t the Tooth Fairy can’t do her job, the unicorns can’t fly..) This rhyming story is as fun for adults to read as it is for children to hear.

Bedtime bunnies are looking to adopt a family to look over, checking each night to make sure all of the children are asleep. Would you like a Bedtime bunny assigned to you? Leave out the special carrot included with the book.

Parents, fear not! The Bedtime Bunny does not get into antics or fancy displays, no gifts are brought (except maybe on their first night) the purpose is to simply look in and make sure kids are asleep. I liked very much that the book says gifts are “quite a feat” and makes it clear they should not be expected.

This is perfect for toddlers just setting a bedtime routine or preschoolers & kindergartners who may have started to rebel against theirs.

We honestly loved this book. It’s so magical and beautifully written even my oldest has asked me to read it again and again. Helps littles understand the importance of staying in bed for a good nights sleep and in the end everyone in the family benefits. Such a great book, came signed from the author with my youngest name on it! So lovely!

A Perfect Bedtime story that I read after ages. This book is just an amazing read for children that encourages them to go to bed early.
This story is about all magical creatures that are very disturbed because children are up till night and they will lose their magical powers if they fly in the daylight.
They all are requested to king Rabbit that please do something we cannot go outside for our job until children are in their beds. It is interesting to know how the magic Bunny encourages kids to go to bed early.
I don't have words to describe how beautifully Christy created this whole lot of magic inside this book with magical creatures like Unicorn, cute little dragon, tooth fairy, leprechauns, and our cute little bunny. In this engaging and fun story, children learn why all the magic creatures need them to stay in their beds, even the unicorns and baby dragons.  This book is based on the evidence-based behavior strategy of positive reinforcement to motivate young children to stay in bed. I feel like I'm reading a Christmas story where we have to leave our wishes outside our house and Santa will come to fulfill it. This book is truly magical and helps parents to put them in their beds.
I highly recommend this book to every parent out there. It's a perfect gifting option for children.

Everybody needs a bedtime bunny

Short, simple and sweet bedtime story that my littles loved. Gives positive reinforcement for getting to bed on time as well as what can happen if they do not go to sleep. Definitely one we will be reading a few times
