This book speaks volumes about Domestic Violence in this world I wish Karess would of been honest about her feelings to Cane and Eric before everything went down it’s a shame that Karess end up marrying someone who abuse her to me I guess she didn’t learn her lesson when she called the police on Cane she should of been done with him but she was so sexually over Cane that she didn’t care about hurting Eric feelings. My heart broke when Eric confessed to killing his ex girlfriend and no one doesn’t know about that but this mofo took it to the extreme when he beat and hurt a innocent child so yeah he got what he deserved 30 years but he haven’t learned his lesson with his selfish self so once again Lady Lissa never disappoints me
Wow. A great read giving awareness to a very serious issue many experience daily. Love yourself and never disregard the signs presented to you the first time. Although Karess may have appeared strong when dealing with Cane she always found herself retreating and staying around hoping for the better. Here comes Eric, charming and does everything she wished Cane would've done but he was the devil in disguise. I was happy Karess and Gabrielle were able to get out of a bad situation before it was too late. I liked that Cane got the help he needed and changed his ways. Eric got exactly what he deserved.
So everybody wanted Cali but settled for Kardashian? With Eric trying to pressure her into moving in after not being together that long. Yeah something would've clicked then that the lights was on but nobody was home. Glad Cane came to her rescue but I'm not sure that I would've went back to him either. I guess just cause Eric was a Dr didn't mean that the grass was greener.....
I knew Eric was too good to be true. Still confused about her ending up with crane. Cause at the end of the day he was an abusive man too and that's who she ends up with? I don't like the message that sends. Too many abused women stay with men thinking they've changed and they get murdered by their abuser later. Not happy with the ending. At the end of the day she married a man that best her.
Wow Karess just was handed a bad hand with the guys she dated! I hate that she had to deal with that with Eric but she was right he was hiding in sheep’s clothing and to put his hands on an innocent child, he got exactly what he deserved. I’m so happy her n Cane were able to have a happy ending with their baby girl!!!!
Abuse is a terrible thing. Abusers must realize that they have to break the cycle. You see them as a result of witnessing the same abuse in their household. They grow up to be the same monsters that they saw. The victims mistake abuse for love. I am so glad that you are giving us stories like this. I don't know if the characters are real but the stories are.
Karess endured a lot of pain. First being with Cane then with Eric. I was rooting for her and Eric. Then when Cane came back and fourth in her life, I felt like he was her Mr Right. When she had Gabby that was her greatest joy. Then when Eric lost all senses and came after a 3 year old, I was out done. How dare he??? You must read this story it’s very good!!!
Eric shocked me! My goodness, Karess went through so much abuse, so glad she fought like hell for her baby. I’m glad Cane got help and glad they are a happy family. Domestic violence is real, thanks to the author for writing this, maybe people can be saved. I recommend this book
Another book by Lady Lissa that I could not put down! I read it in one sitting, like I do most of her books. Eric was the worst kind of human being, but Cain showed that a person can change for the better, if they really want to. Don't want to give anything away, so I'll stop here. Enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end!!
I love the ending and was so glad the Cane got the helped he needed to curb anger issue. Eric got exactly what he deserved for what he did bc no child or woman should ever be subjected to such abuse. Thanks Lady Lissa for bringing awareness to this growing epidemic
This book was too crazy. I can't believe Eric was a nut too but then again yes I can .To put your hands on a child is another low blow and they should have gave him 50 years in jail. Cane really surprised me and did a 360. I guess people really can change. I'm glad Karess got a happy ending though.
Omg this book was so good from beginning to end I really hate karess had to endure that like that’s a lot for a person especially trying to see the good in a person I never went thru abuse but this book is definitely a eye opener and signs to look out for I’m so glad it ended how it did.
😓😓😭😭 very sorry story but definitely an eye opener never underestimate i person generosity there's always two sides every could be bad could lost could be good. But always go.with the first sign someone shows you. Thank you lady lissa
Beautiful story line which keeps you glued to reading to find out how folks lives can be about betrayal between those they love with abusive relationships with abusive behavior.
I wasn't feeling that ending and had to think hard about it. In any domestic abuse situation, the victim should always leave. But the abuser needs help also, and if willing, and works hard at it, can change. That's what therapy is for, right? The problem is trusting and giving that abuser another chance. I liked the fact that Lady Lissa brought this to the table, but beware. Eric got what he deserved and should be happy he didn't get life considering what he did to Helene. He was truly sick and Karess should have seen that - all the signs were there. I didn't like Karess - she was needy, indecisive, dishonest and if she were a man, I'd say she did all her thinking with the wrong head. And she shouldn't have listened to Cali, either, not regarding her child anyway. This book presented a few different takes on domestic abuse and from that aspect, I recommend reading this.
Domestic violence is real! This book brought to the forefront of the realness of domestic violence. It’s amazing how the ones that are being abused will actually take up for and forgive their abusers time and time again. Fortunately, Karess was able to get out with her life but Eric’s previous girlfriend did not. I only wish that Eric had paid for that as well.
This book was just okay. I feel like from each character point of view, it repeats the same story. I found myself skipping through it because I already read another character point of view. This story just lacked……..it just lacked
Karess had definitely gone through a lot when it came to men...Cali fought to get her from a monster only to hand her to one.. I'm glad Cane finally got it together
