This beautifully illustrated children's book recounts the bedtime ritual of a baby owlet with Mommy Owl who observe and bid goodnight to the objects in nature in the forest. Have your child count the stars, see starlings and a rushing river, and count their breath going in and out as the pages are turned. The easily-understandable poetic style of the writing combined with the relatable illustrations make Goodnight Little Owlet a book to read over and over again, for quiet time, and as a great bedtime ritual to end the day. Part of the Poems for Little Creatures from the Very Big Wood Series. Recommended for ages 0-4

Little Creatures from the Very Big Wood series is a wonderful collection. The author has brought rhyming back to children’s books. The stories, in poem form, are engaging and will appeal to both the child and the reader. The illustrations are fabulous as the really reflect the emotions of the characters. Each story conveys life messages to little ones. For teachers/child care providers, I can imagine a curriculum built around these books. All three make perfect additions to a child's library and will become a keepsake.
Foxy Moxy – Farrah fox deals with fear and acceptance of failure. Goodnight Little Owlet – provides early learning concepts, senses, participation, counting, ritual. A soothing read! Hazel’s First Winter – Hazel experiences the changing of season & nature which is part of life. NOTE: I read the board book copies. I’m a believer of children having the book in hand. These are wonderfully illustrated that I highly recommend investing in these in print. The author has these available on her website (listed below) and will even sign them!
"Goodnight Little Owlet" is a great bedtime story penned down by the author Anne Marie Brown. Mommy Owl is asking Little Owlet to sleep. She told him to do few things that will make little Owlet to focus on his senses like hear the starlings sing, count the breaths, etc.
She also told little Owlet if he wants to make the world anew then he needs to start himself first by bringing the change. It is an inspiring book that motivates readers to be world changers. Language of the book is simple so kids could understand it. Parents and kids could read this book together at bedtime. A worth reading book it is.
