If you’re a person that likes to think you can go back, or even forward, in time why not check out a book that will do that for you. You will want to pay attention to the date that’s mentioned at the Prologue. It will help you understand some of the author’s word choices.

Ray is telling the reader his story. At times, it was like he was including the reader in the scene. Some of what he might say isn’t very pleasant. If you’re a fan of Hollywood, you may enjoy this mystery. Maybe you like the reality crime shows, consider this supernatural. I could see Kelly Siegler and her crew, from Cold Justice, becoming a part of this tale.

I liked how the author kept Ray old school. Shows how he seems to be a fish out of water which anyone would be in similar circumstances. Having this story in parts may help you decide on stopping points. Or you may find you don’t need to worry about that. I found this to be a complete, and pleasant, surprise. If I go back in time and think about all the books I’ve read, very few are written by male authors. Gender doesn’t make any difference to me but it seems to have worked out that way.

What interests me is if the story grabs my attention and M. Corsair did that for me. I couldn’t get enough of Ray and the people that he met along his journey as well as those that helped him with the mystery. And now I can add his name to my list of authors to watch out for. Since this is only the first book of the Elohim Trilogy, I have at least two more chances in my future.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Private Investigator Raymond Adams is murdered in 1947. Adams is brought back to life in 2011 to investigate the death of a Hollywood adult movie star. Adams is brought back by celestial beings in charge of the Realms to investigate the star's death as they believe his death to be of a supernatural nature. Adams is given twenty-four hours to find out who killed the movie star and to find his soul.

Adams's investigation takes him to the underground world of pornography, prostitutes, and sadists, along with supernatural monsters. During his investigation and his introduction into this new life, he discovers that life has changed a lot from 1947 to 2011. In 2011 Adams learns what kind of man or person he truly is. Adams's eyes and heart are opened to a whole new life.

The Absolution: Redux was written so vividly that I could just picture each and every scene as it played out in my head. I could see the looks on Adams's face as he walked into different places for the first time.

Absolution: Redux was slow to reveal its secrets as I raced to the end as I watched Adams looking for the murderer and the guy's missing soul. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if Adams was going to find the killer before his time ran out.

Absolution: Redux is a supernatural book but you know it also put me in the mind of one of those hard-boiled murder mystery novels. Absolution: Redux has plenty of action and suspense to keep the pages rolling and the adrenaline pumping.

I would recommend Absolution: Redux to all supernatural and or murder mystery fans. One-click your copy of Absolution: Redux today!

Hard-boiled PI mixed with a little snark, some humor, and a bit of mystery. This was a great, easy read that I flew through once I started. The characters were well done, and the world building was excellent. If you're a fan of The Dresden Files, then you're going to enjoy this book. No magicians, but there is a medium, and plenty of paranormal beings floating around with the mundanes. A great book to take to the beach or curl up with on a lazy summer day!
