Talk about one hell of a ride! Roux Cantrell brings it all with this one: heartache, heartfelt, raw, and honest. River is an absolutely riveting character that I found myself rooting for the entire book. She’s tough as nails because she has to be. Her heart has been broken. Her world has been shattered. And her enemies are only a breath away.
Enter Johnny aka “Riot” and you have off the charts chemistry with witty banter and an emotional past that will keep you turning the pages for more. I’m a sucker for sexy, broken heroes and Riot fits the bill one hundred percent.
The pain these two characters feel literally seeps off the pages and into your heart. The author takes heartache and tragedy and weaves it into something beautiful and magical. Another amazing story by Roux Cantrell and an awesome addition to the Driven World.

After losing her parents River went to live with her brother Cypress, there she met and fell in love with Riot, made new friends, was winning races ,was on the verge of having what she's always dreamed of, when in a blink of an eye, her world changed, her beloved brother had been in a fatal crash, Riot was also and was seriously involvedinjured. With her world being tipped upside down,Laurel, Cypress's girlfriend snatched everything from River including her home.
Everyone blamed themselves, for the crash and all go their separate ways, including Riot who pushed River away and fell in to the arm's of the woman she hated most, Laurel.
Fast forward a few year's later and fate if you call it that, slowly brings the group back together in their career's, River had never stopped loving Riot and couldn't understand why he and Cypress's friends had let her down so badly, she wants answers and the truth, so set's out with help, from her friend Mal,to find out what the truth, really was,and bury some of the ghosts.
With some twists and turns, she's determined to get there in the end.

Wow what a ride!!
River was broken, she was chasing a ghost continually and couldn't seem to find her "happy" no matter how hard she tried. After losing her parents, years earlier she is faced with losing her brother in a horror speedway crash. Riot was also involved in the crash but survived with major injuries and his racing career was now forced into early retirement.
There relationship was turbulent to say the least, always fighting, neither one of them backing down but they had an undeniable love for each other at least until the accident and Laurel aka Vicky... After a tragic set of events River discovers years later completely by fluke something that was left to her but she never knew..... then a twist I didn't see coming....changes everything!
I loved this book it kept me turning the pages to see how it was all going to turn out.

Why is it easier to crawl away from the woman you love than stay with a woman you hate and become intimate with her for years and say it was all to protect the herione.
Why walk away from the only woman you adored to live for 2555 days with a your best friend's ex, a person you both despised in a house she stole from your soul mate's grieving hands that belonged to her dead brother, your best friend who perished in crash that you were present at. Makes sense. Hop along for the ride.

The winning moment of River's career becomes the most devastating. Things just get worse for years until she starts connecting dots through old photos. After 8 years in hell, River, Riot and their team/friends are getting breaks they deserve. Laurel also got the treatment she earned. This is a very intense and emotional book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Riot has been living with guilt and regrets for years as he believed he made the only decision that he could at the time. He has rebounded from the downward spiral he found himself in and determined to help River claim the professional success she deserves and maybe reclaim the heart of the only woman he has ever loved along the way.
The storyline is intricate and the emotions heartfelt as the secrets of the past and the surprises of the present take you on quite the ride. Not only are the characters of Riot and River captivating but there is a great cast of secondary characters that draw you in as well.

This story is a fantastic addition to this phenomenal series and is Johnny / Riot and River’s journey. River is tough which she has had to be to survive a tragedy, and Riot lives with guilt and regret about decision he made when his life was spiralling out of control. Now 7-years later these two cross paths again and the sparks fly, with Riot challenging her at every turn. Riot is determined to get his life back on track and have River back where she is supposed to be, with him. The pain between these two is tangible, but can they heal each other and move on together? This is a well written story which is fast-paced, and emotionally charged, as well as being intense, raw, gritty, and has secrets, heartbreak, twists, witty banter, and off the charts chemistry, which all leads to a intricate and in-depth plot. I was totally enthralled throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.

Sometimes a loss can be so devastating that it not only destroys lives but those in those lives. River, her brother, and Riot were close as family as River and Riot were a couple with love and passion like no other. When River's brother dies in a horrific race and Riot being hurt, River's life is about to change. Riot feels like his life has been destroy and he's falling down the rabbit hole. When he makes River leave his life he doesn't realize he's about to lose everything he has ever loved. River after heartbreak moves on with her life. She is racing to make sure the ghost go away, but also to be number one. Her friends I absolutely adored and loved how they were always there for her. Now she's at the top of her game and the one man who destroyed her completely is back and well so is the women who destroy what her life was suppose to be. Riot wants River back, but he has some groveling to do. When the truth comes out about her brother, his friends, Riot, and the women who is trying to destroy River, well it's a doozy for sure. This is a great story by an author I will forever read.

Such an amazing book. Riot is a race car driver and River is a bike racer. Both are dating each other and go through something traumatic. This book had me on the edge on my seat through the whole story. With everything in this book that’s going on , they have to fight to try and stay together or call it quits. Loved all the characters that play a big part in this. Definitely a must read for sure.

They're so complex and I felt everything they did and felt for their loss. The story captivates you and doesn't let you go until the very end. I couldn't put this down.

River lost everyone she cared for after winning a race that launched her racing career. She slowly is putting her life back together and then Riot, the man who broke her heart, shows up in her life again. Riot is determined to win River back and back in his arms once again. An emotional and intense read and one I recommend adding to your TBR.

Great book that will have you feeling all kinds of ways. River & Johnny have chemistry and it shows from the start. You go through all their heartache and tragedy and see River lose everything. Then you get to see her put her life back together. This book was great and will keep you turning the pages

Amazing
Roux, once again you bring to life a story that is riveting and amazing. I fell in love with River and Riot. Their struggles broke my heart. The world of racing that you showed made me feel like I was there. I loved it and highly recommend it to everyone

Oh wow!!!! Ms. Roux Cantrell definitely didn't disappoint her readers in "Played " she'll have you on such an emotional rollercoaster until the ending. Mind is blown.
