Colt Anderson is burned out. Every part of his daily life has become a tedious chore. He cannot remember the last time he took a day off or, better yet, felt a woman’s willing surrender. And it’s just his luck that on his first day off in ages, he runs into a sexy squatter on his property, never expecting that single interaction would alter the very fabric of his world.
Still, he cannot seem to stay away from the sultry scientist, Avery. Colt feels bad for her, worries that she is running from something, and decides to cover her stay at the ranch. After all, he owns the place and has plenty of cash. Although that tiny little detail is a secret he plans on keeping to himself. It is addictive having a woman look in his direction and not see dollar signs for a change.
Because when Avery casts those goddess eyes his way, he’s just a man, a man she craves and submits to body and soul, like he’s her man, and his longing for her has him tied up in knots. With trouble and danger drawn to her like magnets, Avery pulls out his protective, dominant nature. The woman needs a keeper, and he’s the perfect man for the job.
Now he has less than two weeks to convince her to stay, to make her fall for him before she discovers he’s rich. But will she hate him when she discovers his deception?
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Anya never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a M.A. in History.
Anya is a Bestselling and Award-Winning Author published in multiple fiction genres. She also writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance under the name, Maggie Mae Gallagher. A total geek at her core, when she is not writing, she adores attending the latest comic con or spending time with her family. She currently lives in the midwest with her two furry felines.
Well, this was dreadful. Rich hero who thinks all women are after his money is riding his horse 'round his ranch property when a fast moving storm has him ducking for cover in one of the cabins they rent out to tourists. He finds the heroine hauling in a bunch of science-y, telescope-y equipment and since nobody is currently renting the cabin, he accuses her of being a squatter (well, because she is one). She gets all feisty and argumentative with him and then suddenly they're sucking face and having no-condom sexy times.
IN. THE. FIRST. CHAPTER.
In Chapter Two he causally just drops the mention that he's "a Dominant" - which in this book is code for Flaming A-Hole. Because naturally the heroine finds out, quite innocently, that he's not who he says he is, that he's "rich" - and even though her personality hasn't shifted at all with that bombshell, suddenly the hero thinks she's a gold-digger.
Oh, and there's a non-consensual spanking scene because he's just so angry that she keeps finding herself in dangerous situations with the local wildlife.
This is terrible and a textbook example of why I'm excessively frustrated (and not in a good way) with the erotic romance sub genre right now.
Quick Summary Colt is a cowboy Dom who has been burned in the past. His ex-fiancé showed her true colors when she cared more about his money and connections than she ever did for him as a person. Since then, he’s steered clear of any type of lasting relationship.
Avery is as far from his usual type as it gets. For one, she isn’t into the lifestyle and because of the unusual way they meet, she has no idea that Colt owns Silver Springs Ranch.
For the first time in a long while, Colt feels a strong pull to the klutzy and endearing Avery and it’s too much of a temptation to pursue her as a working cowboy, without the dollar signs he feels will inevitable pop up when she learns who he really is.
But soon, Avery will tear down his walls and have him thinking the impossible. A future together. But his secret is bound to come out. And Avery has her own revelations to reveal too!
🖤 ~ Review ~ 🖤 I was hooked from beginning to end. Colt and Avery are so unique and refreshingly bold and outside the norm that I couldn’t help but fall for them both. Avery is hands down my favorite type of heroine. She wears her heart on her sleeve but she also calls it like it is, sticks up for herself, knows what she wants and doesn’t let others dictate how to live her life. She is a free spirit with more heart and courage than your average heroine 😊
Colt was a more laid-back Dom than I’m used to reading but again the author managed to write him self well that I actually came to love his singular take on being Avery’s Dom. It was compromise and it’s not something you see in a D/s romance. I loved that he wasn’t open to adapting. We always hear that each relationship is different but we don’t always get to see it. Colt and Avery’s relationship is D/s but it isn’t black and white or one sided. It’s a perfect balance that worked perfectly for them.
The predictable climax didn’t play out as predictably as I thought and again loved that! Avery didn’t allow drama to manifest itself, she processed it, accepted it and moved on. Instead the catalyst that throws a wrench in their love story is Colt’s hang ups. Was this frustrating? Yes. But it was saved because Avery is strong enough to call him on his BS, it was hilarious!
Even the heartfelt apology and the groveling that follows was great! Avery isn’t one to hold a grudge so I appreciated that Colt laid it all out there for her and that she accepted his apology and made him grovel a bit before she forgives him, Lol!
Memorable Moments: The mountain lion scene! Lol, I loved it. It was funny, endearing, gave Colt a chance to let his protective Dom out and was just a light-hearted moment between them.
I have to say that their first encounter was eye opening! I wasn’t expecting things to take off quiet that fast but the more you delve into these characters (especially Avery) the more her actions make sense. This wouldn’t fly IRL but in romancelandia I gave it a pass!
Would I recommend? This was highly entertaining and had two fleshed out characters with enough explosive chemistry to give you all the smexy times your craving. It’s hot, explicit and more than your average helping!
* * * ARC provided for an honest review * * * I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The heroine, Avery is one of those characters I just can't stand. I'm too annoyed at Avery to continue. There were several things wrong with this story.
1. Who the hell has unprotected sex with a complete stranger three minutes after meeting said stranger. 2. For as smart as she is, who has that many mishaps ALL the time.....come on. 3. I thought Colt was supposed to be the Dom...where is the mature and sexy male from book one? 4. Communication...clearly these characters have never heard of it. 5. Just no.
This is the second book featuring doms employed at this particular ranch; it does work as a standalone. Here we get Colt, the ranch's owner, whose approach to all women because of one (repeat after me: one) bad experience is that they are all money-grubbing 'hos. This turns out to be a huge problem when he ends up really liking Avery...
This book is completely silly; thus, it's best to approach it with literally no expectations of realism. Characters include a woman with so little self-preservation that she immediately invites a man she's never met into her isolated cabin and has unprotected sex with him and a man who worries that a Stanford astrophysicist making a six-figure salary is after his money (clearly, neither the author nor Colt knows anything about academia).
That said, the acts are consensual; I appreciated that Avery was a strong, independent woman and that Colt appreciated it; and I rather liked the atypical ending since far too often it's the woman who .
3 stars. I urge Ms. Summers to find more interesting complications for her characters than the Refusal to Honestly Communicate trope, which in the entire history of this genre has never been a compelling plot point.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Avery Morgan & Colt Anderson. When this book opens we find that Colt is just tired. He loves his family land but he feels like every day is just like the last. He needs something more. He decides on this day his something more is for him to ride into the higher country on the property. As he goes his horse lets him know that a storm is on its way and he figures he will rush to one of the properties that is supposed to be empty even though they rent it out from time to time. What he finds is nota an empty cabin though but a beautiful woman there. Things go from what to hot in 3.5 seconds flat but Colt still wants to know who she is and what she is doing squatting in his cabin. When she has no clue who he is he thinks this is his chance to find out if a woman can love him for him not his money. Morgan is the worlds biggest kluts she can fall over her own two feet. She has a brilliant mind though and is following the trail of a never before seen comet. She is seeing it from all over the world to bring her research back to study with other colleagues. For the first time in what seems like forever she could see herself living on Colts land. There is just something the draws her she knows she has responsibilities being the last in her line for her family she just wonders is there someone out there that will want her for her and not be ashamed of all that her mind can do? Can the two of them get past their hang-ups from the past or will it destroy any chance at a future they might have had?
This is another amazing story by this author. Yes it has its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Owning and managing a ranch required a lot of dedication, time and hard work which leaves Colt with little time or energy for anything else. He is cautious when it comes to women and he is determined that before he gets involved again, he will know that they want to be with him for who he is and not for what he can do for them. When he comes across a woman staying in one of his cabins with no authorization the sparks are going to fly.
Avery is a scientist who has attention to detail when it comes to her career but not so much when it comes to her personal life. She is easily distracted and questions her judgement when it comes to men but there is something about Colt that draws her in. The chemistry between them ignites and he proves to be a man she can depend on but with the secrets between them is there any other way for this to end except in heartbreak?
The heat between them radiates off the pages and the story has just enough angst to keep you invested in the characters and their relationship.
I enjoyed parts of this story and parts of it were a bit of an eye roll. Not sure why authors like to do the klutzy accident-prone thing to women, and keep it past the point where it detracts from the character, which is what I felt happened with Avery.
Avery is a sweet life loving, free spirited young lady that is chasing the stars across the planet. A bit absent minded at times and prone to innocently getting herself into sticky situations. She is discovered by Colt, as she is using one of the cabins on his property without paying for it. To say things got off to a steamy start between these two would be mildly putting it. Once they came up for air and Avery told Colt about her predicament being the Dom that he is his protective instincts came to the forefront.
A good portion of the book is mostly their sexy times, closely followed by Colt bemoaning the fact that the ladies seem to only like what’s in his bank account, which is why he has kept that he owns the place a secret from Avery.
I did enjoy Avery’s innocent way of looking at the world, I could have done without as many klutzy events that seemed to plague her. For a Dom, Colt sure acted like a scared boy at times. His over reaction to an event just made me roll my eyes and wonder where the mature male went too.
So while it was a cute book and both characters for the most part were extremely likeable I didn’t find anything new or exciting to this story to lift it out of being just another story with some BDSM parts and a misunderstanding that could have been fixed in a matter of minutes instead of dragged out for days.

While this is a series, the second book is well-written and will read as a stand-alone. The story mainly focuses on two people, Colt Anderson, owner of Silver Springs Ranch, and Avery Morgan, an astronomer, and astrophysicist. In many ways, they are complete opposites, yet when they come together, even when total strangers, the chemistry is off the charts.
Colt Anderson has the weight of the world on his shoulders, well, maybe just the responsibilities of Silver Springs Ranch and all it entails. A day away, no phone, no questions, just a day to relax, enjoy nature, ride his horse, Tank, and decompress. But, that changes with a sudden thunderstorm that will have him riding to one of the empty cabins to take shelter. What a shock to find a woman there.
Avery Morgan has brains and is impressive in her science fields, but she is a klutz, has the propensity to lose important things, like her wallet, and finds herself in precarious positions. She takes what life throws her one day at a time. Items can be replaced, and her field of work is critical, so she will deal with paying for the cabin soon; right now, getting her equipment in before it is ruined is vital. Then when a cowboy and his horse show up, he is angry and making threats.
The story will start with Colt finding Avery at one of the cabins and accuse her of being a squatter. As he is yelling at her, making threats, she shuts him up by kissing him, and he turns that kiss on her with angry passion that leads to hot and heavy sex.
“They were drawn to each other in an almost magnetic fashion.”
The plot will have Colt and Avery spending as much time as possible together, and when these two are together, that includes lots of erotic sizzling hot sex. Colt will tell her he is a Dominant, but that doesn’t scare her off. Instead, it excites her, and she is open to whatever he suggests. It seems that Avery has an uncanny ability for getting into trouble and danger, and multiple times that will have Colt coming to her rescue.
Colt has been hurt; the last woman wanted to change him to meet her image and only saw him as dollar signs, ending their engagement. Avery was left at the altar but has moved on. Colt wants to make sure that a woman wants him for who he is and not what he owns, so he keeps that secret from Avery. The truth is, Avery is the most down to earth person considering what she is and what she is worth. What happens when things are getting serious with them? Will Colt call everything to a halt because of the past, or will he be open to a future with this flighty scientist?
“Money always matters, it always changes things.” –Colt
“You know, for all your bluster about being a Dom in control of your universe, you’re terrified to truly experience life and the world. You think by cutting yourself off, it makes you strong and impervious to harm. When all it really does is prove that you’re a coward.”
“Here, she had discovered the greatest love she had ever known, and experienced the greatest heartbreak inside of two weeks.”
The story is an erotic, emotional roller-coaster ride. I found Colt arrogant and tried to justify his actions based on the hurt caused by Carly. He lies by omission, and yet that isn’t something he would accept from a submissive. Avery is herself. She doesn’t brag about who she is, what her family owns, or how smart she is; she is just herself. She has been hurt, but she pulled up her big girl panties and moved on. The story is heavy on sex and does have some power exchange.
I absolutely loved the idea for this story. I immediately liked Avery but I couldn’t get into Colt at all. He was bitter and cynical years after the fact that his former fiancee wanted him for his money and seemed more concerned about Avery knowing he was rich than he did about her feelings. I admit I don’t really know anything about Doms but I was disappointed that that was his priority while getting to know someone new. He ruined the story for me.

Colt Anderson takes his first day off at the ranch in, he cannot remember how long. He takes his horse, Tank going for a ride to clear his mind. He loves the ranch, but he was facing burn out with handling everything on his own. He could let his sister take over more of the responsibilities, but he did not know if she was ready. Any woman he might connect up with around town would only see dollar signs in him. Then he happened upon a woman unloading telescopes into a cabin, he knew was not rented out, since it was raining he put Tank into the shed. Then he went off to confront the woman for trespassing. She yelled back that she needed her equipment in out of the rain. He ended by helping her bring everything into the cabin. At that point, he tried to talk to her, but they only ended warming the bed sheets. She later told him, she was an astronomer there to study a new comet she discovered while in Hawaii. Then she went on telling him that while scouting the best location to setup, she lost her wallet in a nearby stream and was unable to retrieve it, so she would be unable to pay for the cabin until she got her credit cards, money, and ID replaced. Colt thought that was a story she was telling not believing her for a minute. She offered him food of Ramen noodles, which he was not to fond of, but they compromised with splitting his sandwich with the noodles. For dinner, they had eggs and an apple. All night long they burned the sheets up as they could not keep their hands off each other. A story of instant attraction on both sides with Colt afraid of being taken advantage of, but he never thought to check Avery out when he found out whom she was or even ask questions about her. He just assumed. Boy did he end up with egg on his face. A book that went from vanilla to spicy in moments. Tried to be dominant/submissive with a dominant and a woman that had been extremely independent her entire life. An accident prone woman that always managed to come out alright somehow. You will stay on the edge of your chair waiting to see how this one will turn out.

This is the second installment in the Silver Springs Ranch series. Colt was introduced in How to Rope a Wild Cowboy (another great read but not necessary for this book). Colt is the owner/operator of Silver Springs Ranch. A Dom who women have tried to use for money, prestige, etc. He has been hurt and has allowed that hurt to settle in and wall up his heart. Then along comes Avery. Avery is a highly intelligent yet clumsy scientist who studies stars, comets and searches for UFOs.
The two meet when Colt seeks emergency shelter at was is supposed to be a vacant cabin on his ranch only to find the cabin occupied by Avery. There is insta-lust that each agree runs out in two weeks when Avery is scheduled to return to Las Vegas. Colt finds himself taking care of and protecting Avery, but wants to keep her secreted away from friends and family. What happens as Colt introduces Avery to a life of dominance and submission? Does Avery give in to his desires? Will her own secrets keep them apart? Does Colt find a way to let go of his emotional hurts and can forgiveness and understanding pave the way for a happily ever after?
While there are some elements of power exchange and Cabin X (which was introduced in the first book) is mentioned, this is mainly a story of love overriding fear. Also, the secondary characters are great - cannot wait for their stories to be released! Anya Summers is a solid go to author! Pick up this story and How to Rope a Cowboy - you will not be disappointed.

How to Rope a Rich Cowboy is the second book in the Silver Springs Ranch series. Colt is touring the grounds of his ranch when he’s shocked to find not just a squatter, but a two week whirlwind of a passionate affair. Feeling drawn to each other in every way, what happens when Avery’s two weeks are up, secrets are revealed, and she has to leave?
Oh my goodness, this book was amazing. Decadent. Definitely one to escape into and be surrounded by passion and love. Avery and Colt were amazing together, with intense chemistry that saturated these pages. I loved that Avery wasn’t afraid to enjoy everything that life offered! She was feisty, but caring and focused. She was accident prone, yet had a natural grace due to her confidence. She was definitely an adventurer. I really enjoyed her character! Colt was starting to feel a little drained and empty from his life, but immediately came to life when Avery entered his world. I loved his dominance, his fears, his need to protect and cherish Avery, even when his head tried to tell his heart no. I think one of my favorite parts about this book was how both Avery and Colt shared aspects of their life together. I loved that she showed him the stars while he took her fishing, and while neither particularly wanted traditional romance, this was perfect for them. This book was filled with details, so I felt like I was physically with the characters in the book, and I loved that they both had vulnerabilities that made them so relatable! I loved this book! I look forward to more from this series and from this author!
Colt never expected his desire to take time and recharge would lead him to an incredibly sexy, star gazing scientist squatting on his ranch. Colt was wary of all women's interest in him. Experience had taught him that they were more interested in his bank account than in him.Would this backfire and ruin his chance of a future with Avery?
Avery's penchant for finding danger brought out a need in Colt to protect her. Her delight in nature was charming. Avery was also full of surprises, which she had kept from Colt. Her need to travel the globe made it very difficult to maintain a relationship.
Colt’s urge to strangle Avery soon turned to pure lust. She had lit a fire inside of him that soon turned into a burning desire. She needed a keeper, but could colt turn over the reins of the business to his sister?
This was an incredibly sensual read by Anya Summers. What started with hot sex soon became so much more. It was full of surprises, danger, lust, and romance. I loved the dynamics between this couple. Colt remained dominant while still encouraging Avery to follow her dreams. Avery was not at all shy about her sexuality. She knew what's from Colt and did not hold back, enjoying every moment of pure bliss.
A delightful read full of heartwarming passion. I love how quickly this story turned from lust to love. It has an exciting build-up, plus the intensity continued throughout the book.
We met Colt in the first book in the Silver Springs Ranch series, but you can read this as a stand alone. He and his family own the ranch, along with Cabin X, the private BDSM clubfoot him and his friends. When younger, Colt was engaged to a gold-digger and the wedding was called off, he now finds himself distrustful of women's intentions towards him. As a dominant, he controls all aspects of his sexual encounters and likes it that way. But along comes Avery, whip smart, accomplished, beautiful, but someone who is a klutz and finds herself in somewhat dangerous situations. They meet when Avery is setting up equipment in what colt thought was an unoccupied cabin. Instantly attracted to each other, they start a hot and heavy relationship, both thinking is only temporary. They don't really share much about their personal life including the fact Colt owns the ranch and Avery is a wealthy heiress. In typical Anya Summers's hero's style, Colt acts like a jerk and accuses her of being a digger, drama ensues, and Avery leaves . This is a great addition to the series. Colt redeems himself and I love his willingness to sacrifice is job for her. Great steam, well paced, perfect addition to the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Colt is in a bit of a repeat slump, each day feeling a bit like rinse and repeat to him. He decides to take a ride up the mountain, a little reset time. Only instead of just a reset, he finds an Avery. The physical attraction between these two is quite literally instant but Avery is the kind of girl who lives for the now and she saw something she wanted and well she had to have a taste. Speechless and intrigued Colt decides to enjoy the reprieve from his norm and just enjoy the chemistry between him and Avery. As time progresses and moments become memories Colt finds he must overcome his own prejudices or he might lose his precious Avery.
This was a fast-paced easy to read romance. Colt is a Dom, not your typical mind you but in this scenario he was perfect. Avery is a bit of a klutz, which created some pretty cute scenes. Her character is honest with herself which I like in my heroines' none of that wishy-washy back and forth I don't know conflict. Yes, there are some scenes that had me rolling my eyes and some others that were a bit out of the realm of possibility - but again this is me - for the most part, it was an entertaining romance that has a spectacular HEA and left me with the feels. I guess this is part of a series - yes like I always I jumped in late to the party but it easily reads as a standalone and left me curious about the other members of the ranch.
So, we start the story with Colt (introduced in book one, but not necessary to read this story) coming upon Avery at one of the cabins that his ranch rents out and thinks that she is a squatter. He starts yelling at her and she grabs him and starts kissing him and that is the start of this romance and some hot and heavy sex! Colt doesn't believe her when she tells him that she lost her wallet and Avery doesn't mention that she is the heiress of an immense fortune. She tells him that she is a science nerd and has two PhDs and is there for research. Colt has been hurt before by his one time fiancée. She wanted him for his money, so he now thinks that is the only reason anyone wants him. He decides to lie to Avery by not telling her who he is; he says he is just a cowboy working on the ranch. I will say that I found Colt to be an a**. He doesn't think about Avery's feelings. I love Avery. She has been hurt in the past, but she puts herself back out there because that is the only way to experience life. When Avery finds out about his deception, she is hurt, but she listens to him when he explains. I enjoyed the story and Colt is redeemed in the end.
This is a simply splendid read that I am sure you’ll enjoy This was a wonderful read and as I do not want to give the plot away, I will only say that you will be totally drawn in by this book, the characters and the plot was simply wonderful and I am sure that you will enjoy every element of the book. Colt has become rather jaded and despondent with the life that he has on the ranch and because of this he has stopped appreciating just how fortunate Colt is to live in such a beautiful environment, all it takes is someone to point this out to him. Avery is s person with a big personality and an image that is well suited to the scientist that she is and all the good she tries to do to better the lives and health of the human race. This is a hot and very volatile coming together as she is discovered squatting in one of the cabins. I do not want to give too much away so will only say that you will thoroughly enjoy every moment of this book. A truly wonderful read. Enjoy every moment I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Colt is feeling broody as he goes on a ride on his Colorado ranch. He is sick of the day-to-day grind that never seems to end. All the women he seems to meet are only interested in him for his family's money. When a thunderstorm starts, he heads to the nearest rental cabin to get out of the rain. He finds Avery there, trying to get her equipment into the dry cabin. She is squatting, and claims she lost her wallet. He does not believe her. Their passion ignites, but it will be short-lived. In two weeks, she has an event in Las Vegas. As much as he longs for a real relationship with a woman, she yearns for a life mate who can overlook her quirks. They have both been burned before. Colt told Avery he works at the ranch, and when he realizes she may be the real thing, he allows himself to open his heart. She falls for him too. This story is really good. There is passion, a couple realizing their dreams when they open their hearts, and who can resist a hot Dom cowboy? They get their HEA, of course.

Colt is carrying the world on his shoulders. He's closed off and determined to stay that way so he doesn't get hurt again. Avery is bright, beautiful, smart and unfortunately a klutz. Colt is out on rare day away, out for a ride. A storm comes up and he goes to the nearest shack on the ranch. He runs into Avery who has managed to lose her wallet - but that's okay, it's way more important that she get her equipment inside. He accuses her of squatting but she's got other things on her mind. She kisses him to shut him up and the spark of attraction flare into a fire. With chemistry off the charts, Avery slowly brings Colt back to life.
I had some problems with this book - although it was a fast and easy read I didn't think Colt was "true to life". He is a dominant but is more withdrawn than anything. Avery has been hurt in the past, doesn't need his money and is looking to the future. Colt is withdrawn, dark and angry. Avery eventually brings him out but I really thought Avery was way ahead of Colt in the personal development area. He lies by omission but Avery just tells the truth. I felt she way outclassed him. I still enjoyed the story and would recommend it.
Colt's life was a little monotonous even with the women. All the women in town knew of his bank account and all they saw was dollar signs instead of him. Taking a ride up the mountain on his horse the weather turned. One of the cabins was nearby with a barn for his horse but when he got there the cabin was occupied by a woman that he knew they hadn't assigned to the cabin. Avery was something else and her mannerism took Colt by surprise. She was nothing like women he knew in fact she spoke to him in a way no other had, and she didn't know about his money. Everything changed when she went to the office to pay and was told who Colt was. He took it as meaning she would turn to become like the other women, so he ended things with her only to find out there was way more to Avery than meets the eye and he had made a serious mistake. Will his misfortune end any chances of having a happily ever after with Avery? This story draws you in and have you cheering Colt and Avery on to get a chance for a happily ever after.

How to Rope a Rich Cowboy, is the second book from Anya Summers, Silver Springs Ranch Series.
To date, I have read all but three of Ms. Summers books. And that’s because, life has a way of taking me from one of my passions, reading steamy, hot romance novels with handsome Doms, and smart, quirky subs.
Avery Morgan, is the perfect heroine; smart, sassy, sweet and giving. I liked her from the start. I was blown away by her personality and her spunk.
Whatever research was done, was phenomenal. I felt like after I read what she did for a living, I was an expert too.
Colt Anderson, I like him, but I wanted to see more of his dominance. He is smart, sexy and rich, and dominate. It almost broke my heart when Grace turned him down over Emmett, but Avery is the best fit for him.
Colt and Avery are a perfect match. The story has a great twist, I would like to have seen his face rubbed in the mess he made a little more, but all’s well that ends well.

Anya Summers is a great storyteller. Her books always feature a strong female and a dominant male that aren’t perfect, but perfect for each other with off the charts chemistry. The story is well written, the characters are fully developed and the world building is so detailed it becomes yet another character in the story. I found myself laughing out loud so many times while reading this book, it was a wonderful break from the serious issues we are facing right now. This is a standalone story, but features characters from the previous book, and I found that the story was better because I had read the first book in the series. I am really looking forward to reading more books in the series.
I received this book from the author at Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Loved this book! The characters were complex and the story was steamy.
Avery Morgan is an astronomer and astrophysicist studying a comet she discovered and looking for extraterrestrials. She is also a total klutz and danger magnet. She is renting a cabin on the ranch for two weeks, but lost her wallet in the river and has not paid for her reservation.
Colt Anderson is burned out running the family business and is fed up with being pursued for his money by the women he dates. On a ride to a remote part of his ranch he finds a squatter living in one of his rental cabins. He decides to let Avery stay and he feels compelled to care for her. They get into an argument and end up spending the night together. They spend as much time as possible together while she is there until they argue after she finds out he owns the ranch. He follows her to Vegas to apologize and they get their HEA. Highly recommended.

A second stand-alone book in the author’s Cowboy of Silver Springs series. A series about sexy hot cowboys that are all Dom’s. In this book we see the story of Colt and Avery. Colt is a rich ranch owner that has some history of women wanting him solely for his money. When he sees a beautiful girl pushing telescopes and science equipment into one of his cabins that she hasn’t rented he thinks she’s a squatter. Introductions lead to him saying he is a ranch employee. This book is a well written love story. Avery is a carefree, adventurous spirit and Colt is a protective gentlemanly one. I was a bit surprised to see that Colt was the softest Dom ever. Avery with her story personality is actually the one to take charge in several situations. No heavy BDSM in my opinion. There is some light bondage, hot steamy well written scenes . The book is descriptive and for adults. Enjoyed this read.

Second in the series of silver springs ranch books , we met the man of the ranch Colt Anderson who'd has inherited the family business alongside his sister amber . Since his father retired eight years ago he had forgotten what a day off looked like so today he decided to take is beloved horse named Tank on a nature trail an discovers an unexpected guest in one of the remote cabins and as the the weather changed he had to take shelter with a feisty beautiful independent woman who he believed as a squatter and the journey begins. Met Avery Morgan a highly intelligent woman wrapped in her world of astronomy and mystery of the stars and comets and as she is mostly on her own in this world she fell across a cabin in Colorado after following her comet and taking the data to Nasa and the moment the her journey took her through a different direction and meets colt the horse rancher ;) loved the characters and romance and storyline highly recommended and wish for more of the characters.
Holy insta-lust! As soon as they meet they're arguing over who's the one trespassing, but one minute later the argument is forgotten as they explore their white hot chemistry! Every girl should be so lucky to get an introduction like that. Whew.
But great sex can only take a relationship so far, and where Colt is bound to the family ranch and very much in charge everywhere he goes, Avery is a free-spirited astronomer whose wanderlust is supported by her family's vast resources. These two very opposite people have to find enough common ground upon which to establish a lasting relationship.
I love the way the author crafted the HEA so that both of their dreams could come true, together. These two are one of my all-time favorite couples by this author, and I loved every single bit of their romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I always enjoy Anya Summers’ books, and this is no exception. Colt is a well to do ranch owner who is anxious to meet a woman who doesn’t want him for his money. Avery is a scientist who shows up on his ranch. She has had no long term relationship and didn’t know she wanted one. They fall instantly in lust with each other. As the days pass, each begins to realize that they would like to make the relationship permanent – but both are hiding their wealth from the other. He told her he is in charge of the stables at the ranch – she never explained the wealth that she comes from. There is the usual misunderstandings and confusion, before an HEA. I really liked both characters, the passion they had for each other, and the way they grew into the relationship. Most women view Colt for the size of his bank account. Avery's only interested in the size of something else, and how well he uses it. Loved the book! Colt is keeping a secret from Avery - about who he really is. Avery is just a wonderful woman. She's strong, independent, smart, fascinated by things she finds in nature that are overlooked by the rest of us. She's also a bit of a klutz, and gravitates toward dangerous situations. She and Colt bring out the best in each other, in and out of the bedroom. I love that his dominant nature did not turn domineering, that she's still free to make her own decisions and not completely controlled by him. It wasn't an easy trip to their happy ending, but one worth reading about.
