This was my textbook for one of my junior/senior classes at university. This was an okay textbook to read during the semester because I learned some important parts of recruitment, selection, and retention of employees for companies. It has pretty straight forward definitions and details throughout the book. The visuals seemed a bit too blah for my liking but they did help with the lessons a little then again not as much as I would have liked. It makes me sad to say there wasn't anything that wowed me about this textbook so I'm not sure I could give this book a 4 star rating even though the visuals and boring information that were my only problems with this book.

I was assigned this book for my MBA readings and I have to say, this is a very difficult book to read. While the text is mostly in simple language, the author provides way too many examples and tangential situations that it actually detracts from learning and engagement. Even simple topics are paragraphs long when they do not need to be. There are some good tables and charts that help simplify the author's ramblings and the content is relevant to my course yet, I had a very hard time reading this. Often, entire chapters could be a whole 20 pages shorter if the author was much more concise and dedicated to being instructional over conversational.

I'm not a fan of this textbook. Some areas of this textbook are very poorly detailed. The book is very dry, and it should include more real life examples. If you order the paperback copy, you will save a lot of money. Make sure you order it a 4-6 weeks before class starts. I had to wait over three weeks to get my textbook and I had to spend an extra $80 to rent it on the kindle to do homework since my class had already started. I was very displeased with my experience with the publisher.

This text was ok. It wasn't the easiest text to understand. I received an A and that's what really matters.

This textbook is awful. Throughout the entire book the author makes claims of DEI type programs making a better work environment, while there is never any substantial data given to back the claim up.
