Tales of a Paradigm
Eldrin Moonsoar is a kind-hearted healer who travels the magical world of Vrania to help those in need. The goddess he worships and who grants him his powers, however, is not. The Dragon Queen is known to be fierce and vengeful, a force of evil and deceit, and that is exactly how the people Eldrin encounters interpret his intentions, even when he tries to help.
Scorned at the mere mention of the name ‘Dragon Queen’, Eldrin struggles to find those he can trust and befriend, while unknowingly being hunted by Gaelle, a vengeful follower of the same goddess, who suffered from Eldrin’s past choices.
Though their lives are estranged, their paths are fated to meet. The only one who survives will be the paradigm of a follower of the Dragon Queen.

5 books10 followersBruno Augusto was born in the rural town of Penalva do Castelo in Portugal, where he lived until he went to the University of Aveiro, city in which he stayed. He finished his master’s degree in Environmental Engineering in 2018 and shortly after began working in academia, in the same university. This, however, has nothing to do with his writing.
Bruno also enjoys sports, cooking and is a big enthusiast of tabletop role playing games and is usually the default game master. This has everything to do with his writing.
Finally, Bruno also finds it extremely strange to refer to himself in the third person, as he did when he wrote this, therefore… you know… I’ll stop doing it now. Nonsense aside: dear reader, I hope you enjoy the books I wrote and the ones that I happen to write.

What if all the good you made, created a whole lot of more evil in return?
That's not a quote from the book, but sums up the lesson you get along the story! This book is a refreshing new fantasy adventure with an intricate plot and a slow and steady pace to it! Let me explain then...
Bruno Augusto presents us with a group of characters that are very diverse within themselves, but with a common characteristic... Personality! They're not hollow characters, they feel, they think, they suffer, they show emotion, they have goals and a life! I find it hard to get a story with character that are not just there for plot convenience, and this book has just the right amount of characters with the right amount of deepness to them!
Speaking of plot... For a first publishing you'd think it would be a little raw and lacking much of a plot right? Wrong! The plot here is strong! Very intricate and complex, although due to its pace it looks more straight forward than what it actualy is! It takes sharp turns and changes drastically now and then, even when you think you reached a stagnation point!
Did I mencion pacing up there? Yeah, the pacing itself is a very slow and steady as mentioned, but in a good way! It's a story that isn't in a rush to go anywhere, it takes its time to develop without actually looking like it's just filling pages to make the story bigger. It all matters in the end and, in fact, I find the pacing to be very like the main character Eldrin Moonsoar, so it suits the book!
All and all?? It's an amazing read that will leave you with hope and happiness, alongside heart-breaking moments! It will make you smile and laught, and make your heart tighten! Oh and be very aware of time jumps as I wasn't and got the biggest surprise of my book reading life!
I absolutly loved this story, specially the fact that it doesn't end here! So I'll be very anxious to read the next chapter and future works from the author!

"How far would you go to save someone's life?" This question could sum up the start of this fantastic story, in which Eldrin (the main character) wanders through the fictional world of Vrania on a constant ideological struggle. A life saver for some, a heretic for others, and just a person doing the right thing for a few ones, this story follows Eldrin's life and tells of some of his encounters with people who help him on his journey, and some who will impact his life in a way that will change it forever.
Bruno does a great work in exploring the reader's emotions with impacful moments and relatable characters, with a very straight to the point writing style (in the good way). Highly recommended.
P.S.: Although I read the ebook version, I hope to lay my hands on a physical copy, which you can get on Amazon.

Surprisingly good for an independent novel written by an amateur author. Better than it has any right to be, I'm almost tempted to say (in jest, of course).
Bruno presents a very character-focused fantasy adventure, caring more about defining Eldrin Moonsoar than showing the classic tropes one might expect from the genre. The main characters are natural and believable while showing significant depth. The narrative itself is quite good, with the pacing of the story balancing out exposition and action in a very effective manner. As for the writing, the novel is comfortable and easy to read, with a simple prose that occasionally lends itself to a more poetic style.
Tales of a Paradigm offers organic characters in ever-changing situations with no shortage of twists that will keep the reader invested. Part character-exploration, part adventure, part drama; Bruno's debut may not be easy to categorize, but it will certainly entertain any fan of the fantastic genre looking for something new. An easy recommendation.
