Are you or a loved one about to go through chemo? Do you need real, honest, raw information from someone who has been there? Chemotherapy sucks, but it can also save your life. This book gives you a blunt and NOT politically correct look at the process and the side effects. From hair loss to poop and everything in between, it is the perfect quick read for a chemo patient or someone who loves them. Featuring full color and sometimes inappropriate adult humor, it is a refreshing break from the seriousness of cancer. Written and illustrated by breast cancer survivor Tracy Wazac, this book will have you laughing at her honest take on what you can expect. It's written like a conversation that you'd have with a friend, telling you like it is.
If I could give this waaay more stars I would. I loved this book and will read it over and over again. I have at least 5 months of chemo ahead of me and this made me laugh so much and feel seen. When she said the part about labor contractions I thought “OMG AM NOT GOING CRAZY. It’s normal?!?!?” Thank you for this book
It almost sounds sacrilegious to say this, but what a fun romp through chemo.
Don't get me wrong, it is a very serious book about a life-changing matter, but Wazac's wicked sense of humor will help you get through chemo. She says out loud what so many others think.
When seeing the cover and the size of the book, it would be easy to think it is a children's book, but PLEASE don't buy it for a child. It is "a funny guide for adult cancer patients."
If you are easily offended by colorful language, be warned, Wazac is REAL and RAW. She covers everything from fingernails dying to potty issues; and does so in an honest way.
I love, love, love this book and it will be a gift to any of my fellow warriors!
I loved this little book. Thank you so much, Tracy. It all resonated and I laughed out loud many times. Going to try the Biotene toothpaste and get me some apple sauce.
It's a good funny read that also had a few handy tips. I'm just beginning this journey, and I kept going, "Oh, it's not just me!" And "I'll add that to my list.
