Leo's Catch

Rate this book
Heather:
Wow! Sometimes when you go in to work, you get a nice surprise. Like a promotion. Not in my case. I go in to work only to find that a developer wants to demolish the library I work at and build a big, fancy apartment building. My boss asks me to be "extra nice" to him in hopes of changing his mind. I don't think so. I'm not that kinda girl. When I meet Leo Marcum though, I immediately have visions of just how I can be extra nice to him. His sexy, steely eyes seem to see right through my clothes like I'm not even wearing them. I want to run my fingers through his shaggy blond hair and that golden scruff on his cheeks and jaw. I can almost feel those hard lips on mine and I want him so bad but it scares the hell out of me. I feel like this man could steal my soul if I let him.
Leo:
Heather says she's accident-prone. I would agree with that. But I wouldn't want it any other way. The second she tripped and fell into my arms, I knew I would have her. I kissed her and that feeling grew. But so did the possessive, primal urges that told me this wasn't just a one-night stand. This woman is mine. I keep what's mine at any cost. Business deal be damned. Whatever it takes, Heather has to understand nothing means more to me than her. Now I just have to convince her.

Such a disappointment

I like books by this author, I like them a lot. But this one not so much. In fact it was horrible. Why? The main characters. He is probably supposed to be an alpha, but he is nothing but an asshole. He’s arrogant, self-centred, inconsiderate, controlling, belligerent, cynical idiot, and she’s completely spineless, stupidest female character I read about in a long while. Yuck!

Leo is like Marmite...

.....you either love him or hate him - and I am afraid I don't like him.
This is my least favourite book of the series, not that there is anything wrong with the book, but I found Leo overbearing and bossy. Whilst the other male characters in this series are larger than life characters who can be bossy, they are also endearing, I didn't find this with Leo, he was demanding, rude and totally inappropriate most of the time and I can only ask Heather....what are you thinking?!
Whilst I didn't like Leo the book is well written and I did like that it overlapped with the first book in the series, Heather and Honey work together and they all attend the same fundraising ball, so these books happen across the same timeframe which was cute.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Leo comes to town to knock down the library

Leo comes to town with the intentions to buy the land that the library is on.
He plans on building condos and upscale stores.
Heather is asked by Gretchen, her boss to show Leo around the library and to convince him not to knock down the library.
She's clutzy and trips and lands right on top of him.
He decides right then that he wants her forever.
He won't take no for an answer. He's rich and arrogant and wants her. He very possessive and wants her. Bound and determined to have Heather. He feels he can't live without her.
Great story of this alpha male and his determination to have Heather.

Short enemies to lovers romance.
He doesn’t come across well (he’s bit of a dick) and doesn’t exactly redeem himself. She doesn’t have much of a backbone so overall a slight disappointment for me especially compared to the rest of this authors work
