Yay! This book released early! Full review to come. I received an ARC so I wanted to go ahead and leave my initial thoughts.
I think I'm going to start with a warning -- this book is dark & intense. If you're familiar with CP Mandara's work this won't come as a surprise, but Mandara pulled no punches in this installment. Lots of dubious consent here verging on non con. This book is *intense*, my mouth dropped at times. If you've read Mandara's Special Agent series, what Adie put Lois through in that series rivals what he puts Mel through here. Ok, now that the warning is out of the way:
Mandara's writing was fab as usual. The book picks up right where Deadly Retaliation left off, and I think I actually enjoyed this book a bit more because we got much more Mel & Adie interactions here.
I like Mel a lot. Mandara writes the best kick ass heroines. I've noticed some authors write "kick ass heroines" but all they do is argue with the Hero. Mandara's heroines are skilled and bad ass in their own right. Mel's vulnerable side comes out in this book, and Adie brought her low (see warning at the top), but I have a feeling Mel is going to manage to get the best of Adie in the next book and I can't wait. The romance between these two hasn't taken off quite yet, but the foundation is there. I love it when crazy, almost psychopathic characters fall in love, and I'm getting that crazy love vibe from Adie and Mel. I can't wait to see how their relationship eventually develops.
This is book 2 in a series, and book 1, Deadly Retaliation needs to be read first. If you like your reads dark and twisted I recommend it. I can't wait for the next book. We see James in this book, but he hasn't caught up with Adie yet. I have a feeling there's going to be a James, Lois, and Adie reunion in the coming books and it's going to be volatile.
Cliffhanger: YES. This is a continuing series. A big thanks to the author for being honest about this being a continuing series, having cliffhangers, and being in general communicative and straightforward with her readers.

The story continued right where it left off in the last book and took readers to a new exotic location. I wished it was a faster pace though because it wasn’t until over half of the book that it started picking up. I loved meeting new characters as colorful as Adie’s personality, but I also missed James and wanted more of his parts in this book.
I liked how Melinda bared her vulnerabilities in this one. Adie appealed to me no matter which part of his personality is showing. I mean, who doesn’t like an amusing sadist? Lol! Of course, all the dub-con scenes fed my soul.
Dirty Retaliation is a story of getting even. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a story with unconventional characters.

Continuing without interruption in the timeline, Adie is pursuing his revenge and has his captive exactly where he wants. Under the guise of being James’ sister, Mel continues the charade but trying to hide her vulnerabilities is impossible with a man like Adie. Willing to keep his promises, Adie tests Mel’s boundaries and what he discovers can either make or break her.
Told in dual POV, the flow between Adie and Mel is seamless. With Mel on the verge of wanting to murder Adie at every moment but having to contend with his serious skills, she is in a tail spin. As for Adie, though he is arrogant and sinfully sexy, he is also playful and adept at hiding his heart. Together, Mel and Adie share a push/pull dynamic that keeps their attraction combustible.
In this narrative, there is a slow build of tension by drawing on the question of how far Adie will go and if Mel will be released before the next phase. Periodically, I wanted more progression because the idea of waiting for more was making me all twisty. Needless to say, Adie is a standout character for me, and though he showed some of his proclivities in this book, I look forward to seeing him in full sadist mode. As for Mel, she has reasons for her choices and by attempting to confront her fears, shows she isn’t a machine.
Overall, I remain invested in this series. Dirty Retaliation would appeal to those seeking a dark and erotic story driven by revenge.

Nothing less than compete surrender will do here, and I swear the guy is trying to suck out my soul via my mouth. Jesus. My mind has gone to mush.
I think I'll leave my review in gifs because words just aren't adequate enough to do this book justice. It is...
Aide is deliciously vile, depraved, evil and yet also incredibly sexy and immensely attractive. I both hated and loved him in equal measure. The things he dreamed up to do to both Sharkey and to Mel, well.....
Though Ms Mandara deserves a spanking for not leaving poor Lois out of the mix. James/Jake deserves everything he gets, after all he double crossed Adie, but Lois suffered enough LAST time! The book held me spellbound from start to finish. I never knew where the story was going to take me next, I didn't even know where I wanted it to take me. But every single twist, turn and revelation was perfect and I wouldn't change a single thing.
OK I lied, I am going to rabbit on about how absolutely fantastic this new series is. I fell in love with Aide in the Special Agent novels, though you don't need to have read those to enjoy this series. This isn't stand alone, you need to read Deadly Retaliation first, and this one also ends on a cliffhanger. Back to Adie, who is so damn sexy it should be illegal - in fact he probably is. Adie is not a good man, though he does have a sliver of conscience which he often ignores. Somehow, despite how bad he is, you still can't help but adore him and his wicked sense of humour.
Thankfully, my voice returns and my anger rockets. "Does it take practice to reach the exalted state of 'the-biggest-fucking-asshole-in-the-world', or does it just come naturally? Tell me. I'm genuinely curious to know."
Adie smiles. If I could knee him in the balls right now, I'd make sure they were permanently relocated to somewhere just below his chin.
Mel is a very typical Mandara heroine - strong, feisty, determined, stubborn but also more than a little messed up deep down. However she is definitely her own person and not only did I adore her but I loved, loved, loved how she and Adie interacted. Hopefully she will get a chance to kick his ass, though not too much because I have a feeling she's going to want to keep him in one piece so that they can mutually adore one another at some point in the future. It's going to be a long, sticky, tough, dangerous and difficult road ahead to that HEA and I am totally onboard for the entire journey.

Ohh lawd, I don't know where to start on this book! Let me tell you, C. P took me on one of those once in a lifetime outta body experience when Adrian returned from the ashes unscathed and out for blood. I was flipped upside down, side ways, I laugh, I cuss, I got mad ( how dare Leader one up him ) and I've had a lot of oh snap moments.
The building story between them is off to sizzle already an if you know anything about Adie he does nothing half assed. I can hardly wait to see how he and James bridge the gap I'm sure with Lo and now Mel it's gonna be a burner literally

Deviant, depraved and delicious, Ms. Mandara delivers another dark erotica with a cliff hanger. For those who have not read the Special Agent BDSM series, this one will probably throw you for a loop. Whilst it could technically be read as a standalone, I recommend against it. To get the full effect, it is recommended to read the entire Special Agent BDSM Series first. And it probably helps to read the first book in this series. Full disclosure, I only read this 2nd book and didn't read the first. I also only read 3 of the 6 in the original series. I admit to being a bit lost at times.

This has been a wonderfully powerful read; it will draw you in!
This is a wonderful second read and if you read the first book you w.
ill discover that like Sparks and Adie in the previous book and I was so pleased to see that they character Adie was back and that he was just as bad as ever.
I do not want to give too much away about this plot or the actual way in which it is taking you and this to say that Christina was a wonderful addition to this character and also the sense of humour was also a wonderful addition to this story.
There was a terrifically written story and there was once again another kidnapping that was in true Adie style and there is no way you can possibly miss the way in which this wonderful plot will eventually unravel.
There will be another book which will show the outcome of those that will try to see Adie killed, I have to wait patiently for the next book in this series.
Hopefully it will not be too long in coming.

This is the second book in this series Adie’s and Mel’s story and it picks up as if you’ve turned the page and the words are still continuing to flow along the pages with no interruption whatsoever from the previous book. Adie kidnaps Ione James (Adie’s best friend) sister to get revenge on James for him taking Lois (the woman Adie loves) marrying her and she is now pregnant with their baby, BUT...Adie has no idea he has actually kidnapped Mel Leader imposing as Ione. Mel is a very strong willed, sharp tongued and a secret operative plus an expert assassin in her own right. But, Mel has a very nightmarish past that could destroy her if Adie discovers it and uses it against her. Even though Adie got the drop on her and the fact she is now at his mercy being his prisoner and a pawn to his sick and depraved antics, she is fighting internally that she could possibly be falling for him. Can Mel keep her past nightmare from surfacing? The author has done an upstanding job of portraying the characters and their chemistry is off the charts crazy even with the crazy sick ways of Adie and what’s actually happening. Word to the wise when you pick up this book you will Not. Be. Able. to put it down! Seriously I’m not kidding. This is a very fast paced story that moves along smoothly with lots of twists and turns, drama, suspense, D/S, its very dark and twisted. Will Adie discover the truth about Ione/Mel? Will Adie get the satisfaction he’s looking for? Can Mel stand up to the sick antics that Adie is going to put her through? For me I don’t usually read many of this type of book to this degree anyway. But, once I started the first book I’m like a sponge I can’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what the heck is next. So many times my emotions kept thinking “Oh My Word he needs to pay and pay dearly”! Then its like something decent slips out and you think “wait a minute maybe there’s help or hope for him”? All I can do is keep reading and find out what’s next. I CAN’T WAIT!! Oh my Word I Love This Author!!!!! I knew how this book would end (and I wasn’t wrong), yet, at the same time, I was wrong! It ended with me feeling a book hangout of “I NEED BOOK 3 NOW!” and unable to really grasp an ending that I fully expected. That being said, it wasn’t predictable. What led to the ending was an insane jump off multiple buildings- before you hit the ground, CP throws you back into the air! The sex in this one is not only hot, but depraved in places. Emotionally, it is a chaotic journey. While I was fully in the headspace of the series by this book, I struggle with the knowledge that James (who is a combo of James Bond and M) would purposely put a woman with Leader’s baggage at such risk. He knew going in what she would be up against, and her history makes his choice to embed her a mistake that, unfortunately for us readers, we have no idea whether or not she will survive. The wait for book 3 might kill me!

Well damn....that went from bad to worse really quick. Book 2 in the Twisted, Dark and Deadly Series found me unable to look away from the train wreck that is Adrian Dumontier. This part focuses on just how far he will go to get what he feels he deserves. This book was like dropping down that first hill on a wooden rollercoaster, you are holding your breath hoping that the ride will hold together while you are thrown from side to side and spun in circles. I knew, like Mel, that Adrian was a loose cannon. I knew from the start that this plan to save Lois was not going to work. But like Mel, I could not resist the temptation to see just how bad it could get. Now that I know, I am just as worried as Mel that she will not survive the next part of this story. Thanks Christina for once again edging me right to the cliff and leaving me wanting.....

If you can get beyond Adie/Adrian's crude, sadistic, cocky, twisted ways, you might find him (as most women do) to be handsome, sexy, experienced, and good at his job. Adie has the personality of Deadpool with James Bond's training and Christian Grey's tastes.
Some may find this book is OTT, but I loved it. The humor in Adie's arrogance was hilarious! There's also action, lots of steam, betrayal, negotiations, out-smarting, and suspense. There are cool, strong women in this series too!
And if you look closely, you'll see Adie's tender side. But, something that's supposed to happen - doesn't. So what was dark here is about to get darker in the next one. Can't wait for book 3.

I just completed a beta reading for Dirty Retaliation by Christina Mandara. Get ready for a rough ride Ione!
Let's just say Adie is one sadistic (and sexy) man that will do whatever is necessary to get his revenge on James.
The only teaser I will post is, "Welcome to Wonderland." Adie is taking Ione/Mel out of the country and has his version of fun with her on a private jet and an underground BDSM club. James runs into more trouble and misses Adie's deadline. What does this mean for Mel? Well, not anything good. Also, the trouble James gets into is going to tie Lois, Adie and Mel's future together.

This is a dark romance with strong elements of D/S and more. The story is well written and easy to read, but also rather intense. If you are looking for the usual vanilla BDSM, this is not it. That being said, if you like things with a bit more edge, then you are in the right place. The characters are well developed and definitely bring the story to life. The plot is fast paced and full of interesting twists and turns. There is also quite a bit of steam along the way. Overall, I found the story highly enjoyable and look forward to more from this author.

This is a dark , intense story filled with suspense as well as all the twists and turns throughout. The characters are strong and well developed. Told in the dual POV helps to understand their thoughts and emotions. The author brings the heat and moves the story fluidly with her vividly painted scenes. I enjoyed reading and am looking forward to more from this author.

I've read several books written by C.P. Mandara; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

The main character in this story is sick. He even says so himself. But he is able to back up his promises with actions. It will be interesting to see just how this will all end up. As near as I can tell, it could go either way, either he will win or he will lose. Either way it will be an entertaining story.

Dark and horribly twisted, she got that right. What a deliciously twisted tale. The characters are read hot and the storyline takes some beating. A very twisted story but very passionate and full of intrigue. Loved it. A super series of books.

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Adie takes Ione to get his revenge on James. Will he discover the truth? Fast-paced read with lots of twists and turns, drama and suspense. Great characters and an intense read. I was hooked from beginning to end.

This book has it all, very edgy, intense, revenge twisted with so much sensual sexual chemistry with interesting characters. You’ll love this story and C.P. Mandara know how to draw you in her stories and this one is a page turner for sure!

Well I enjoyed this book as well as the first but the story is moving a bit slow for me. On the Amazon page for the author it is showing as a 2 book series although the book mentions a third installment at the end. I was expecting things to be much further along by the end of this book. I feel it really leaves you hanging and I would like a little more back story on the main characters. It would also have been nice to have a release date on the third book. However having said all that I am not disappointed in this story and I would recommend it when the series is completed.

Loved this story! So dark and dirty with a touch of humor, which I love. This is part two of Adrian and Mel’s story. It does end in a cliffhanger which I’m not a big fan of, but the story is sooo good that I can’t wait for the next part. C P Mandara’s stories are so worth it though.

If you have read the Secret Agent Series then you really need to read this. This book is dark and edgy. I thought Adie was gone, but you just can’t keep him down. Talk about a twisted soul that just draws you in. I can’t wait to read the rest of his story!
