In short: The local newspaper reporter finds her ex-husband dead and reaches out to the protagonist Arizona Summers, an amateur sleuth, to solve the mystery. Suspense, surprises and superfriends make this a good read.

Keene has created a relatable cast of quirky characters in a warm, welcoming community setting. Add food and a paranormal element, even if it is a dog, and you have a winner.

My concerns from my first review about the editing and proofreading remain. The grammar could be better in places; even if it is American English, it could read better.

I will continue with the series because it is a warm cosy paranormal mystery with much potential.

Really good unusual tale with believable characters. But I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT UNDERSTAND why this book is SLOPPY. Words were frequently misspelled. One chapter was completely repeated. There were about 6 paragraphs randomly thrown in, as if the author forgot she meant to remove them. I guess that “torcher” is probably torture. I must admit, however, that i chuckled at Arizona “ducting beneath a window.” Please, Miss Keene, your readers look forward to your books. BUT PLEASE FIND A BETTER PROOFREADER for your sake, ours, and Nutmeg’s. Please?

Fun read

Arizona cannot suppress her detective skills, even when law enforcement tells her to stay out of the investigation. Soon the sheriff realizes she is helpful. Love Nutmeg!

Killer steak knife?

Excellent book. Who killed Mick with a restaurant style steak knife? Lots intrigue. The cops don't know and reporter Liz didn't know who killed her ex and why.

Great

The book is really good, but there are a lot of printing/type/grammatical errors. This is one of those books that is hard to put down.
