If you are looking for a basic framework for teaching a TOK course for the first time, then this book will be somewhat useful. However, there are a number of issues to be considered before buying this book. First, there are a number of typos and much repetition-- even sections that appear to have been copy and pasted from previous sections, including repeated examples. Second, the author uses many questionable references such as the Nazis, yet for the TOK essay guide at the end of the book, he cautions against using the Nazis as examples because it's clichéd and overused. Thirdly, and most importantly, the examples the author uses--particularly in the politics, history, and natural sciences sections-- lean heavily on right-wing conservative talking points such as the victimization of white men by cancel culture, highlighting communist historians, and questioning climate change. While the author is only suggesting and implying certain Fox News style anti-liberal ideas, it's clearly biased, subjective and could certainly be used by students to critique and discuss the nature of knowledge and truth! Perhaps this was the author's intention? It's difficult to tell, but while reading the science sub section on "peer review", I highly doubted that this work was subjected to any kind of peer review or serious professional editing.
