Sweet paranormal romance with some feels

Von is a construction worker who only does hookups. Silver is a sprite that made a deal with Fate and a spell caster to become human. All he ever wanted was his human mate.
Whilst doing the dishes, Von accidentally summons Silver and that summons sealed them as mates.
Silver is so sweet and Von tires hard to be honourable. They are very likeable characters that have amazing chemistry. It’s not an easy road to their HEA but they do get there.

Oops! Sprite is the fifth book in the Accidental Mates series by Anitra Lynn McLeod. A paranormal m/m romance that will have you feeling emotions and laughing out loud.

Hot construction worker, Von, accidentally summons a water Sprite, Silver and what happens after is an interesting and entertaining story with fun main characters, a crazy ex, drama, humor, sweetness and sexiness. A fantastic read.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

3 stars!

I got an ARC copy of this book but it is currently available to purchase.

This is book 5 and currently the final book in this series. It was an interesting storyline and not really a Sprite, as it was a Sprite turned human which is a little different. I thought it was funny all the things this paranormal person didn't know. This story also had some dark moments- I would say this one was the darkest of the series.

Overall, it was a solid story with a paranormal twist.

I can’t get over the fact that this author keeps having the bottoms receive barely, if any, prep at all. SPIT IS NOT LUBE! Like these guys would not be able to slap some lube on a dick and just hop on like this. Even if they are stretched and prepped beforehand, they’d still want to stretch again just for safety. Like bro.

This was such a sweet romance between a sprite, Silver and a human, Von (who yet again like other books in this series, had a homophobic father). It's a slow burn romance but I did find it quite entertaining. The writing was well done and the characters touched my heart.

Slight spoilers...

With each of the books in the Accidental Mates series, the stories get less quirky and cute, but add more depth and actual meat to the plotline. The first two or three were fun and full of heat; book four was still quick to the physical, then romance, even with a heavier plot. But this book...This book was like watching a man drowning, while his hero tries to save him with a glass of water, never knowing the man he loves is dying in front of his eyes.

Von is a down on his luck, construction worker by day, Grindr playboy by night. He's been slowly working on fixing up his old house, but things just aren't looking bright for his future. That is until something happens with a spoon and his sink, then suddenly, there's a pond in his back yard, and a slender man is out there, too.

Silver is a sprite, and as such, has lived a very simple life. But, he's dreamed of his human mate for years, and he finally had what was needed for the spell caster and Fate to send him to the human plane as a human himself. I don't think he had anticipated what that would entail, but it was worth it to him to be with his mate and seal their union. However, there is always a catch when spells and Fate are involved, and his agreement could come at a very steep price.

Von realizes right away that Silver is special...too special for him. So, he vows to keep his hands to himself (as much as possible), and teach the fumbling young...man...how to be human. He knows Silver wants him; he's made that more than obvious, but Von's sense of self-worth is too low for him to bring a beautiful creature like Silver down with him.

There are good times, and one really bad situation brought on by one of Von's poor decisions from the past, but they get to know each other. They find joy in little things, and Von realizes that his Grindr days are over. He thinks he has all the time in the world, but Silver knows the horrible truth.

When faced with a reality from his worst nightmare, Von's soul cries out in wounded longing for the love that should have been. Fate apparently isn't cruel to these two men, because She brings them back together as they should have been all along. Von is still a mean, mean man, and makes Silver wait impatiently to become one, but when he finally gives in, he makes up for it. They end up with a happily ever after even Fate couldn't deny.

Happy reading!

As seems to be the norm with this series, the most random of beginnings. I'm never sure as to whether people know about paranormals or not as there tends to be very little of the expected reaction to finding a non-human in your home, or brand new pond in Von's case.
Von summons a sprite called Silver but Silver comes with a deadline on his time there unless he can be with Von, his mate, sexually. Three nights before he will disappear but he's unable to say anything of this deal to Von. While the two men have an electric start, it's clear that Silver has very limited knowledge of the human world and Von then refuses to take further advantage. A noble idea but not what Silver needs right then.
Silver is very innocent and questioning everything about the world he's been thrust into. Von is extremely patient in teaching him even the simplest of tasks and is endearing to read. It's a slow building relationship after the flash of heat at the beginning even if it's only across three days. You can really note how Von's character develops in his thoughts and feelings towards what were nightly hook-ups and relationship possibilities. There's even a surprise character that pops up and causes uproar for the couple and really brings home what they mean to each other. An emotional end to their story and a perfect HEA.
A really good addition to the series and can be read as a stand alone.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Von & Silver

**Note to self: summoning a sprite is as easy as water splashing off a spoon in the sink and hitting the kitchen window! 😂

Book #5 was just as cute as the previous four in the "Accidental Mates" series. After the human Von accidentally summons the beautiful silver haired sprite he must then save him from the small spring that magically appeared in his backyard.

Thinking all fault in the accidental summoning lies with Von, Silver has a secret regarding it as well. He can't share the secret however, because he was warned it would mean his death of he did.

Learning the ways of human life are not as easy as Silver thought they would be. Learning there are unkind and malicious people in the world teach both Von and Silver valuable lessons. Von and Silver also learned, finding that one person who makes all the bad in life inconsequential as long as the two are together is a priceless gift.

This is a super quick read and recommended for anyone who enjoys PNR and MM Romance.

This delightful paranormal romance is the fifth book in the series “Accidental Mates” & sadly it is apparently the last book in this series. I found it to be a very enjoyable, quirky slow-burn Sprite/Human romance. The plot is interesting, well-paced & filled with some unexpected event/situations. There is good scene descriptions & world building. The characters are likable with good chemistry although one of them (Von) tries to be noble in his efforts to be honorable while the other character (Silver) has a secret he cannot disclose.
There is: a male constructions worker (Von) with a inclination to only do one-night stands accidentally summons a rather naive male water sprite (Silver) with a secret & a seduction in mind, some twists, drama, humor, adventure, mystery, secrets, fate, magic, discovery, shock, confusion, strange attractions, mates, misunderstandings, denial, sadness, compromises, trust, confrontation, abduction, threats, protectiveness, sadness, desperation, heart-wrenching pleas, surprises, destiny, love, some steam, contentment & a wonderful happy ending.

The story was good overall, especially with where they finally got their HEA, but the road was a bit bumpier than I expected. A couple dramatic elements that were thrown in were surprises and I don't think one of them fit at all, in fact, it caused unnecessary complications to their already complicated situation. Some things were brought up to increase the angst with intimated hurts and reasoning behind Von's decision to be a player but were never explained or fleshed out. Silver is adorably earnest and naive and while I think he was a bit superficial, in that he wasn't given enough depth as a character and not that he was vapid or shallow, he was the character that drew me in the most. Von's opening scene was promising, as was the end, but through the whole middle I found him to be lacking. Where they get to in the end was really sweet though, so overall it was a sweet, nice story to add to the series.

This was the last book in the series, and it was also the one that most affected my heart. Silver was my favorite character in the entire series, and I wanted him to have all the happiness in the world. Von had a difficult life and was so hard on himself. He was determined not to do anything to hurt Silver, not realizing that his attempts to avoid the former sprite were doing more harm than good. My heart broke for these two, and all I wanted was for them to find a way to their own happy ending.
This has been a fun series, and I'm so glad I read all the books. I do recommend this series to others who enjoy stories with humans finding love with paranormal beings. The first and especially this last one are definitely my favorites, but the entire series is worth reading. I will watch for more from this creative author.

The Accidental Mates Series brings an interesting twist to the paranormal genre. A lot of the M/M paranormal books tend to be very heavy, full of action, and a lot of angst. This series is a refreshing find that brings a little lightness and escape to the M/M paranormal world.
Once again we have a story about a paranormal creature that you really don’t see often especially in the M/M genre. This story has a more drama and angst than some of the others in the series so if that is something that you really like in a book this would be the favorite for you. I am not as big of a fan of angst but that is a personal opinion and in no way reflects the quality of this book. All of that aside I did find this an enjoyable read and another great addition to the series.

This page-turner, tear-jerking, emotional, sweet and endearing book 5 in the series, continues with the same premise of the previous books, only now is Von Rossi a handyman summoning Silver, a water sprite with a secret. I read this book in a seating because the story of how those two got together as fated mates trapped me inside it, making me laughed in some parts and cried in others. Of course, the HEA despite everything was guaranteed. Nice and sweet reading.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

I really felt bad for Silver, a Sprite, who is accidentally summoned by Von, a human. Silver in now in the human world as a human and all he wants is his human mate, but Von is having none of it even though he wants Silver badly. Unfortunately, Silver has a secret, one that could hurt both in the end.

This story is entertaining and has a bit of humor, drama and even a few emotional moments.

I do wonder though, why did the pond keep getting bigger and did it eventually stop growing?

This one was a little different as Silver had a spell cast to bring him to his mate and apparently Von’s water splash helps with that. I hated hoe Silver knew he needed Von to claim him but Von vowed to not take him no matter how much he wanted him and in the end it all works out. I don’t know end the end I just felt that Von was keeping Silver at home but maybe Silver just didn’t want to explore or get out into the world more.

Like the other books in the series, this one was cute and sweet. Yet, it had a bit more depth to me. It was more of a slow-burn than the others, allowing more time for character and relationship development before the spicy times kicking in. Von and Silver's relationship, or rather connection, was slightly different from the others and a little frustrating at times. However, it still had some humor, as I've come to expect from the series, and some emotional moments. This book fits in well in the series.

This one features a sprite who wants to be human and his human mate who vows to be honourable. These two made me giggle, Silver our sprite tries so hard to seduce Von and Von tries equally as hard to resist Silver. A deal was struck by Silver and he has 3 days to consummate his mating with Von to remain a human and stay on earth or disappear into nothing, which is hard when Von does everything he can to resist him. The scenes where Von is trying to teach Silver how to be human had me laughing. I loved this entire series and I hope this isnt the end of the Accidental Mates.

Take one chivalrous human - Von and one water sprite who needs him - Silver and you get this fun, fluffy (last at the moment) book. They have a random beginning which seems to be the norm for this series the main characters become mates and overcome their differences.

This is a book that is full of humour and fluff it is a another good addition to the series, I would like to see more maybe catch up with some of the earlier couples. A most enjoyable book.

The 5th and final book in the Oops! Sprite Accidental Mates series, was just as wonderful as the rest. This was a sweet/short read that was packed with all the emotions that every HEA book needs. I loved Silver he was super cute but he was a bit frustrating to me.Von is a construction worker who has a lot of honor and who wants to do the right thing. This was a great book and kept me intrigued, from the first page. This is a wonderful series and I highly recommend it!

This last book in the Accidental Mates series is a little darker and more serious than the first four. It also has a slower burn/heat factor than the others. I liked the characters and watching Silver learn to be human and Von learn to commit. There is more angst and emotion in this one, a little suspense, a secret, a deadline, and a crazy ex. Very enjoyable.

This is the fifth book in The Accidental Mates Series. What an interesting book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters charming. The characters were developed and thought out. Von and Silver are the MC’s of this book and mates. I can recommend this book as a good read. I kept holding off on reading this story as it’s the last, Von a construction worker summons Silver accidentally. Slow burn romance, lovable characters, a crazy ex, sparkling, heartfelt, sizzling, witty and warm, didn’t want to end.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I honestly recommend this book, kept me captivated.

This is the last book in the series.
Once again we have the reoccurant theme of accidental summonings.
The MC's had great chemistry and there was laugh out loud snarky banter.
I was sorry to see the end of this quirky, imaginative series.
