Part Two of Michael Francis McDermott’s dystopian action-thriller, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER.
It’s been seven months since Heath’s life changed forever at the hands of a Republican tyrant. Grief-stricken, he wanders the roads and alleyways of his new home – Sector 9 – looking for his little brother, lost to him during the annihilation of Sector 11.
Yet even in hard times, Heath knows he must be there for those who still need him. His best friend is by his side, as are his new comrades, waiting for a chance to continue their struggle.
Then Heath learns of a tunnel built under the fences, leading to the other side. Hope is suddenly around the corner. But who dug it? Why was it built?
And can Heath and his friends use it to make a meaningful difference in their fight?
A bold and gripping dystopian action-thriller, In the Name of the Father is an inspiring story of love, transformation and the human spirit, transcending what it means to search for truth and fight for life.
And what it means to believe in something greater.

I've always had an enthusiasm for storytelling. I've written several novels in my life but In the Name of the Father is the only one I have ever released. It is also my first work in dystopian fiction.
In my spare time I enjoy history, live music, the gym, surfing, tennis and guitar.

In The Name of The Father is an epic novel, now presented as a four part series. These are not books for the faint-hearted! It is a novel that deeply examines our human ‘being’. These books have a wonderful storyline, multi-layered and steeped in the lessons of history, science, the seen and unseen and the complex questions around truth, life and love. With well-developed characters, who the reader becomes more and more invested in as the books progress we explore the ‘new world’, the world where religion is outlawed and the areas beyond the ‘fences’. In our journey we come face to face with good and evil, in its many forms. We take every step with the main characters as they hurtle towards a monumental climax with some surprising twists along the way. Filled with profound philosophy, at times beautiful prose and other times confronting action, the reader is taken on an adventure never to be forgotten. The stories as they evolve throughout the series are well worth the time it takes to read the series to the end. I highly recommend these books - they stirred so many emotions and had me questioning everything!
