I received a free download of this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

The Starside saga continues, as Kila tries to juggle her new royal duties, her relationship with Henley, and her fight to triumph over the Revulsion. And as usual, she makes some great decisions, and some decisions that don't turn out so well. When I think about how far she and her friends have come since the first book, I am amazed.

The book provides plenty of interesting scenes throughout. It held my attention the whole time, as these books always do. Never a dull moment. Fair warning, without giving away any spoilers, I will just say that there is a part towards the end where you'll want to have a tissue handy. But the result of that event seems like it might come into play in the next book.

I'm ready for the next one!

Mr. Edstrom has an amazing imagination. It’s a wonder where he gets it from. He uses lots of barely pronounceable names and characters, however we see clearly described scenes and actions. This series just keeps getting more and more epic as we now see a complex web of side stories. Each viewpoint shows the various characters with their own quest and how they go about it. We see their motivations and how they can be a great threat or help to the stability of the land if they succeed. We also see Kila Sigh who having been born into poverty in Cheapsgate has now been crowned Her Enlightened Majesty of Til. So many things are happening in this book you can’t put it down as you will get lost in all the action. More toward the end of this book we read of a very sad twist in this plot. But we are not left to grieve as the last of the book ends in something to be hoped for. Yes, apparently there is a book nine, at least I hope there is. We still are left with a lot of unanswered questions and a war to win. Keep them coming Mr. Edstrom!
