While purchasing a juniper tree for his wife, Pete is warned by a strange elderly man not to plant it on a full moon or receive a month's worth of bad luck.
He ignores this advice, dismissing it as an old wives' tale, but when events go wrong in his life, he realises the superstition was true after all and as in a race against time to locate the old man again and attempt to break the curse.
Will he find the old man in time?
Does the old man know how to break the curse?
Can he rid himself of the jinx before it’s too late?
Surely planting a juniper tree can't bring bad luck or can it? Read this book and you will find out for yourself, Victor Vilestone once again shows what a good story teller he is and a deserved 5 star rating for his 1st Novella but hopefully not his last.
Lots of horror included, along with plenty of gore
Think Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Stephen King and you won't be far wrong. Victor has a warped mind, but I'm pretty sure he will be happy with that description after reading some of his books. Lots of bad luck and gore involved. If you like horror stories, Victor is definitely for you, just don't read them late at night if you suffer from nightmares.
Great, fun horror read. Liked the dark humour and the way it zipped along. If you like your stories a little tongue in cheek without complicated storylines you will enjoy this book.
Excellent story once again from Victor. The curse the tree inflicts upon Pete, his friends and family is constant and terrible. One wonders while reading what else could possibly go wrong, but sure enough it does. Again and again and again. Tragic yet good read that ends wondering if the horror for this family has really ended...
Can a purchase of a Juniper tree cause so much pain and loss? Peter did not think so, until misfortune dogged him daily. A very entertaining and scary short story. Definitely worth a read.
