A star rating isn't really applicable, as this book is the index for the Smithsonian's microfilm series of world's fair primary sources. Robert W. Rydell's bibliographic essay is terrific, and the microfilm collection includes anything related to the fairs of 1834–1916 that you could imagine. Great for connoisseurs of art, architecture, history, gender studies, and popular culture.
