This is a concise introduction to numerical analysis. In addition to coverage of all standard topics, it explores approximation methods, construction of algorithms, iteration methods, error analysis, stability, asymptotic error formulas, and the effects of machine arithmetic. Computer programming applications are given in Fortran 77. The book features numerous problems and exercises at the end of each section.
