The Fugitive is the third book and the explosive conclusion in the Darker trilogy. It is a fast-paced read with great characters, tension, drama and suspense that is palpable.

Being accused of a murder she would never commit sees Nyx in major trouble and someone else pulling the strings. It may just be the end of her and the man she loves.

Love this dark romance.

Nyx’s life has taken a turn and it isn’t for the better as not only does she find herself in jail for a crime she didn’t commit but due to what Bradyn saw he thinks she might be responsible. If that isn’t enough to endure the person responsible for the crime is after Nyx. The only questions that remain is will she be able to uncover the truth before it is too late, and will it bring her and Bradyn closer together or tear them apart?

Compelling characters combine with surprises and steam into an intriguing storyline that will keep you entertained.

Is it just me, or is Nyx the most interesting person in this series? It should be. She’s the guy, the dude, the hero. She’s the one who’s smart (some times not so smart) and gets all the action. So. Yeah.

This is the 3rd book in this trilogy and I do recommend reading them in order. Nyx has been charged with killing the Governor of Georgia who also happens to be her boyfriend’s father. Will they discover the truth? Fast-paced read with lots of drama, suspense, twist and turns and emotion. Great characters with lots of depth and a dark story that really intrigues and captivates you. I really liked it.

Great ending to a brilliant series

**this is the third part of a larger series. If you haven’t read Darker: The Novice and Darker: The Inquirer I suggest you do that first before reading this book, or possibly even this review, because there will be spoilers from the first two books in here. You may also want to have read the Club Privé series too!

Well… what a ride and a half that was!

Let’s face it, poor Nyx was in one heck of a predicament at the close of book two and even though we knew she was innocent of the crime she was being charged with, you wondered how on earth she was going to prove that innocence. We also had a pretty good idea of who had killed Clancy Traylor - state governor and father of boyfriend, Braydn.

The situation Nyx found herself in is made more dire by her life being threatened from inside the jail after she is arrested. When she is beaten within hours of her arrest, she knows she’s in more danger being locked up. Her sister Dara is out for her blood and she doesn’t care how it’s spilled.

Knowing she probably won’t even make it to trial, she does the only thing she can. She escapes. Hence the title; the fugitive.

Braydn meanwhile is in a total place of chaos, disbelief and turmoil. Sure, he and his dad weren’t close, and he’d been disinherited but he didn’t wish him dead. Sure he wanted justice, but not like this. Finding his dad like he did is bad enough, but Braydn is also dealing with the fact that his girlfriend is number one suspect. I mean, he saw her leaving the law firm minutes before he found his father dead. Or did he?

Unfortunately, Nyx’s past misdemeanour doesn’t help Braydn to think of an alternative solution… he just can’t understand, why? He still loves her, but murdering his father is not something you can overlook.

It isn’t until he hears a heartfelt confession from his cousin, Perenelle that he realises that his father wasn’t at all the man he thought he was. What he did makes him understand a possible motive for Nyx to go after him… but there’s still a huge doubt in his mind. If he hadn’t seen her at the scene of the crime he’d refuse to believe she had done it.

It takes a strong talking to from Isaac and the opportunity to meet up with Nyx whilst she’s in hiding for him to put together all the evidence. As soon as he discovers the truth about who he saw that day he realises he’s made a huge mistake and now his statement to the police has placed the only woman he’d ever loved in danger. If the real killer finds her, she’s dead… if they can’t prove her innocence, in the state of Georgia, she’s also
dead.

It’s a fight against the system and time to clear Nyx’s name… but finding people they can trust makes it even harder.

The evidence they uncover on the way to finding justice is stomach turning and you feel so sorry for Braydn. He knew his father wasn’t the upstanding citizen he claimed to be, but what he was involved in is sickening. More so because his cousin and Nyx were both teenage victims of his disgusting crimes.

As for Nyx and Braydn… well, coming back from this is going to be hard. Braydn is beating himself up because he didn’t figure it all out sooner… but seriously, he couldn’t have known it wasn’t Nyx outside that building. Nyx on the other hand is hurting because once again, the justice system has failed her and she is fighting for her life… only this time, she knows she’s going to die unless they can prove she didn’t do it… either by the hand of her sister or the state capital punishment laws.

However, the connection between Braydn and Nyx is so incredibly strong that they find themselves bonded together in a way neither can deny. If they need to fight, they fight together and for each other instead of against their feelings.

Will they get all the evidence they need to clear her name? Or, Will Dara find them before the police do?

It’s a real rollercoaster of emotions this series. And I could not put this book down. I think I spent most of the chapters mentally screaming at Braydn to ‘think’ and believe what his gut tells him.

Nyx really comes into her own in this book. We’ve seen her be sassy, smart-mouthed, stubborn Nyx in book one. She mellowed a little in book two when she finally let her guard down and fell for Braydn. In book three she is desperate and vulnerable. Now we see another side to her. She’s still smart - smart enough to fool the cops and escape, but she’s lost, scared and powerless. Trust has always been an issue for her, but now she needs to trust people to help her because she can’t fight this alone. But she’s also scared of bringing people in, because she knows Dara would hurt them if they got in the way.

It’s a book with ALL the feels. Yes, ok… there’s a few bits where I’m thinking ‘how?’ Or why? But generally it’s gripping and engaging. A real page turner. Does it have a happy ending? Of course it does… but the journey to get there is gruelling and dangerous.

So glad I finally read this series… and i thoroughly recommend it.

Dysfunctional. Spoiler Alert.

I was hoping the final book in the trilogy would redeem itself. This definitely was not a romantic novel. Racism and inequality was somehow not concluded instead focused on child sexual abuse and pornography. The story itself at times seemed coincidental and scenarios ridiculous. Condemn/Condone. We condemn the child pornography and rightfully so and then the the author condones and embraces the BDSM high society and expensive clubs. Our hero was into documentary filming of injustices and gave up this job to take a job at the BDSM club to be near the heroine filming exhibitionists and members in sexual acts depicting bondage, sadism, and masochism for their own pleasure. Filming sexual acts is still pornography even if participants are 18+. I don't see how this makes the hero any different than his father. Only looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And they lived HEA? Don't know what message the author was trying to convey. Quite disappointed.

This, by far, was my favorite book in the series. I wasn't a fan of book 1 or 2 (except for interaction between Nyx and Bradyn), and the author has, as always done an amazing job for the ending!

Poor Nyx, I've said this whole series that I wish she had stayed at Club Prive! She would've gotten in less trouble for sure! This book starts off with her in jail for the murder of the Governor of Georgia (Bradyn's dad). Even though she's not guilty, unfortunately Bradyn saw her coming out his dad's office....or did he? Doesn't matter, here she is in jail...again. She's now if flight or fight mode because her twin has put a hit out on her and if she doesn't get out of jail, she'll be dead. But, if she escapes can she go to Bradyn for help?

So many twists and turns in this story! I've loved Nyx and Bradyn's journey! Great ending!

As the saga continues desperate to figure out how this happen to Nyx she fines herself in a real mind twisted predicament. Braydon’s world has been turned upside down sorrow, grief, bewilderment trying to figure out how the one person he fell in love with could possibly be responsible for such a dreadful act? In the conclusion answers to questions will be revealed. I absolutely loved this series. The storyline was so interesting that it completely captivated me and was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished with the very last word. I definitely recommend this book series to anyone looking for an amazing twist, cat and mouse book. Grab your copies today and start your new adventure. Enjoy happy reading 📚

This is the third book in the Darker series and it picks up from where the second book leaves off. It is not a standalone and the prior books must be read in order. Nyx finds herself in a bit of a pickle which has Bradyn in a tail spin wondering how the person he is falling for is capable of something so heinous. Suffice it to say that one stint in jail is enough for Nyx and she needs to escape. However, there are more nefarious plans afoot and the secrets are coming to light and arranging the puzzle pieces to understand what is going on. Will Nyx be able to save herself or will someone she loves die in her place? Overall, this is one captivating storyline that will have any reader hooked from the first page until the last. More secrets and lies..but who is really pulling the strings

Darker: The Fugitive is the third and final book in the continuing story of Nyx Phoenix. This books starts from the cliffhanger ending of Darker: The Inquirer and the tension, suspense and drama continue for both Nyx and Brayden which is compounded in multiple ways. They are both questioning what is happening, who is behind everything and just what the other's responsibility is. In the end will they be able to come back together and get their HEA or will it all just explode apart?
As with the two previous books in this series I was riveted from start to finish. The story-line is solid and well crafted. The characters continue to be multi-faceted and interesting.

I read an copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Things come to a head in the final installment. Nyx and Bradyn was enjoying a reunion when Nyx was waiting to see her long last sister. That's when things went downhill. In jail for murder Nyx realized her life was is danger and so she escaped. Even more sinister secrets come to light from people who have different pieces to an ugly puzzle. In between the danger Nyx and Bradyn realize what they mean to each other and what their future will look like. Sometimes the best laid plans to waste when Nyx is found and the person who is behind the trouble wants to end it once and for all. The question is will Nyx die or will someone she loves die in her place?

Oh boy, the end of the series - Nyx and Bradyn have to one of my favourite couples. Nyx's unconventional upbringing makes it really hard for her to trust anyone, and she thought she could trust Bradyn. Sadly, he didn't trust or believe in her, or does he?

Together they uncover some pretty unsavoury history (both recent and historical), all this while Nyx is in danger.

The way the author writes brings things to life, the characters have, for want of a better word, character. And to be honest, the storyline is what gets my attention so the series gets a big plus from me.

But can't we learn a bit more about Nyx and Bradyn's future, please?

This is the third book in the series and it looks like the end. I hope not maybe these characters will come back? They are all so well written the action, twist, turns, betrayal and secrets all come out and we learn so much. This is a fantastic series. Who knew about Nyx and her sister? She is in jail for the murder of her boyfriend Brayden's father the governor of Georgia. Nyx second guesses some of her decisions. The interaction between Nyx and Brayden is well written, the drama between the two is awesome. Great book, would highly recommend reading all four books the Prequel and the three other books.

The ending was so good. She should have never been involved in this whole matter. Her family was definitely crazy. How she survived is truly a miracle. He did not believe her which was messed up because if she is supposed to be your woman, why are you not there for her? I really think he truly understood when he found out the real truth about his own family that it really began to sink in that he was a hypocrite. just as she was. I have to say that I was crying while reading this book. Definitely a heavy read that is so worth your time. She really showed how strong she could be despite everything that she has already been through.

What a great build-up to the denouement! An outcome that you did not see coming when you read the first 2 parts in this trilogy. Exciting from the first line to the last word. Nyx's past as part of a bigger scandal that Bradyn's father was a part of. This trilogy has everything that makes it stay with you. I think it's cleverly conceived by MS Parker.
In my opinion, this part focuses on 'trust' and the power of women. Sex is part of the relationship between Bradyn and Nyx where they can both give and take with a BDSM edge.

Ok so when I read the second book I thought for sure this was going to end wrong for Neix. I know she did not kill the governor of Savanna, but with her background I thought for sure this was going to end bad. This book has a LOT of shady things going on with the men of power in this town. Yes money dose get you a lot of things but the worst of the worst is what money can hide from the good people knowing what hides in the dark. I loved that this book has a happy ending and hope luck stays with Neix and Brandan. I would love to read Kammies story too.

Oh goodness what an ending. This story is packed with drama, suspense, and some hot sexy scenes. I absolutely adore Nyx and her feisty, sassy personality. She is stunningly beautiful and what she has endured shows how strong she is. Brayden Is such a strong, protective, and caring alpha male. He has so much added to the story. I loved the drama that is throughout the story as it makes it such a fantastic story. The story is extremely well written and the flow of the story is superb. This entire series is a must read and definitely doesn’t disappoint!!!!

The final book in this fantastic series, please read these books in order, it’s a brilliant trilogy and you shall not be disappointed taking the time to read it from the prequel to this final book. It’s a great conclusion to this series and proves once again just how awesome this author is. This story pulled me in from the very start with the prequel and I couldn’t wait to read each book. I read this book immediately after finishing book 2 in the series. Although it’s a trilogy there are actually 4 books as there is a prequel as well. Trust me, the plot and the characters are all fantastic. A must read.

Do yourself a favor. Get all 4 books (I'm including the Prequel), give yourself the weekend and binge read this series. You will not regret it. So much comes crashing down on Nyx and Brayden all at once. She is arrested for the murder of Brayden's father and escapes to try to prove her innocence. Brayden is struggling to come to terms with the woman he loves accused of such a crime, his father's death, and how to help Nyx. So much action, drama, and what a rollercoaster ride to the very end. Great series, great read.

People and times change..or do they

Nyx has a difficult time seeing people and things on a brighter side. Things in her life haven’t been happy really since her dad had died. If wishes were dollars…but they weren’t and she stopped making wishes a long time ago.

Braydon knows there are good people in the world. He doesn’t think people are perfect especially not himself. He has made huge mistakes and now there’s no way to be sure if those things would ever be fixed. He had hope but he wasn’t sure that was going to be enough.

This is an amazing story and I hope you find the time to read it.

Revelations
The more the original plot turns out, the more the tension builds after Nyx's arrest
It’s a great third and final part, initially depressing because when Nyx finally trusts Brandyn, he is the one who doubts and loses confidence in her, believing her to be responsible for his father's death. Alone and unwilling to be free, Nyx escapes and becomes a fugitive, while trying to unravel the plot against her.
It’s very well written, exciting, very twisted and tense part, still with its torrid note.
I loved this end

A can't put down once I start this book and series.

This is the continuing and last part of the story of Bradyn & Nyx. It picks up from the cliffhanger of Book 2. I love these two characters. They go through so much in the short time they know each other. This book brings the horrible past into their present. They are such strong people. This book is emotional and intense, with steamy scenes, too. With every book and series, M.S. Parker really knows how to get the reader engrossed in the pages. Looking forward to the next series by this author.

Nyx and Brayden were just sorting everything out, when it seems that Nyx has murdered Brayden's father. Can Nyx prove she didn't do it? Or will she just go on the run? I loved this exciting conclusion to this twisty tale, Nyx has plenty of secrets to come out, and so do other people. I feel for what Brayden has to go through, and still loved him at the end, even though he isn't perfect. This was a great story, with plenty of drama/angst, and fiery passion between Brayden and Nyx.

M.S Parker is one of my fav authors. I can guarantee every book of hers I read will be a page turner. Darker III: The Fugitive was exactly that, I could not put it down. This is the last book of the series. In this story M.S Parker takes you on a ride and with Bradyn & Nyx story. Addictive reading, great series

I really enjoyed this series from M S. Parker. I feel that some subject areas covered within the series, although heartbreaking have been portrayed with taste. This must have taken a lot of research and the attention to detail of all the subject areas made this a very addictive read so ensure justice. Above al,l the two main characters in this series are strong and fight for justice for themselves and those that need their help. Brilliant series, compulsive reading. Cogratulations on another great series. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
