I loved the whole crazy mixed up story! It was wonderful and sweet. How so often we do get caught up in how we’re supposed to look and feel. Blair’s going to the public school was so good! How she discovered so much about herself and others, she had a heart and cared about others. Her friendship with Lily was so sweet.

The whole story of Alex’s was heart breaking, but as you shared a quote. “Everything that breaks you down can also build your character

Cause people love to see you fail, just be aware of it.

Don’t let anybody tell you who to be or write your narrative.”

So encouraging and focusing on relationships things that are important!

Blair and Alex are new in River Valley High School. She is a nerd and he is charming. Can two different people hit it off while keeping their identity a secret? A great story about real friendship, and what really matters, how you are and how you act and not how much money or popularity you have.

This was impressive! My High School Royal Boyfriend is my favorite book in the River Valley High series. It’s had two plots running side by side. I’m ways they parted each other. This took skill!

'My High School Royal Boyfriend' by Kylie Key follows new River Valley High students Blaire and Alex, as they try to escape the troubles that plague them by starting anew. While Blaire comes from an extremely wealthy family who owns the town's well-to-do ice cream shops, she has been accused of something that she knows she didn't do at her ritzy prep school. Alex, who comes from out of town, has a secret all his own. The son of royalty, a tragedy has taken him into hiding from the press, bringing him to River Valley.

The two new students try to reinvent themselves, and while Blaire has always been pretty and popular, she tries to stifle that image by changing it entirely, which brings about truths that she had never considered. She learns that it's not as easy when looks and wealth aren't taken into account, but she finds she likes how her new friends seem to like her for herself. Alex agrees with this feeling, as he enjoys the solace of not being in the spotlight, and getting to know Blaire, as they work together in their acting class on a school play. The activity provides them ample opportunity to get to know more about each other, all while they worry about how they will ever be able to reveal themselves as liars, even though both of their secrets aren't really all that bad. However, it's all about perception, and a secret can often seem terribly worse to the person keeping it than those who they are afraid to tell.

Both students discover that changing their names and hiding their pasts will only catch up with them in the long run. Though, despite the predictability of them learning of each other's pasts, the story is engaging and sweet, showcasing how perception and image aren't all they are cracked up to be. Just because someone thinks one way doesn't mean that's the be all and end all of what the answer truly is, and that is a point that must always be remembered. High school is a hard enough time without all of the judgment thrown into the mix. The story works well, in a nice, relaxed way, to prove that seeing people for who they really are, and giving them a chance, are worth so much.

It was good

**Spoilers thrown here and there***

I didn’t know it was another book to this series. Normally I get an update. But lately, I haven’t been getting updates for this author.
But glad I found out that there’s another book which includes Blair and a London guy goes by the name Alex.

Both had false identities. But both actually use their names though they just changed their last names and shorten or added to their first name. That’s it, I knew that Blair got frame for stealing, because I was like what rich person would steal something? Even if this book fiction or fake. Like if you live in a big house have money plus your family is royal what you gone still for 😂 . Like smh, 🤦🏽‍♀️ I don’t know what that girl Zara thought she was getting out of that.

She actually helped Blair in my opinion because she learned who her real friends were. Those people at that prep school weren’t her true friends. She met REAL friends at River High. At first, I thought Chloe and Olivia were full of crap and Chloe was planning to take Lily's spot but turns out they weren’t as mean as they wanted (assume to be) I was glad of that.

I also was glad that Blair made first with Lily and took up for her. Plus, I am waiting for a book with Lily and Ethan because I’m curious. He’s one of the guys from the other book brother too. I just forgot who.

But I wasn’t disappointed in this book at all. I was just glad that none of Blair's REAL friends stop being her friend once they found out who she really was. Unlike her FAKE friends WHO thought she was a theft, I would’ve Love to read their reactions to finding out about Zara setting up Blair.

I loved this novel. The social situation and class idea were a mature one, but very well portrayed. I felt the pain, the anger, the shame, the guilt, absolutely everything. It was heartbreaking in some ways but also helped me understand how we are seen in society. It was a very futuristic novel filled with high school drama, mixed with life and a little bit of love sprinkled on top. Blaire discovered herself without the means of her fake life. She learned about her parents and her family and how their perspectives are. She learned who were the real people in life, who were fake, and who were trying so hard to be the best version of themselves. I loved how the stereotypes were shown in this book and it really taught me a lot. It was a great romance novel as well. (I can’t believe it. I’ve already gone through a huge paragraph without talking about the romance.)

I liked the witty banter and how Alex and Blaire were able to rediscover themselves along with some love. The author did an amazing job showing how they navigated the first love, whilst having fake identities, ad figured out how it worked. They all grew a lot in this novel and I’m not just talking about the main characters. I’m talking Lily, Chloe, Olivia, Blaire’s parents, Alex’s parents, Alex’s friends back in England and so many more. It was a wonderful novel which I am sure to read again.

I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.

Another Kylie Key story to binge read in less than a day!
Blair(e) and Alex have never met but have more in common than they think. Blair is a popular student at Covington Prep but things take a turn for the worst when she is accused of stealing an expensive bracelet. Comes to find out that this is just a small part of a much bigger story that also affects the parents of these kids.
Alex has been affected by a tragedy but he is also royalty so he has had the press and many articles talking about him and his family. His family decided it’s best to get out of the country and go to a smaller school where the press can’t find him.
They met on the first day of their new school and things change for both of them from that day forward. I really liked these characters and the friendship that blossoms between Blair and Lily and then the other two girls.
Alex is a great guy and person. He may be royalty but he has a big heart and seen Blair for who she was and not how she looked. I really liked the chemistry and playfulness between him and Blair. I loved that he stepped in and helped clear her name with the whole bracelet disaster.
This story teaches a great lesson about judging people and it’s not about how much money you have but who you are as a person!

I couldn't step away from this story. I loved all of the characters. Blair, the female main character, had a lot of personal growth through out the book. She was accused of a theft and it that impacted her families good name. She was shunned by everyone. As a senior in high school she saw life from a different perspective after all of this. It was so beautifully written that you feel for her and the situation she has been put in.

Alex was from England. He has problems of his own he was trying to deal with as well as hide from everyone. Sent to the U.S. to a family friends house as an exchange student.

When Blair and Alex end up in Theater Arts together their world begins to change a bit. A beautiful story that includes the toughest of hardships. If you like YA you will love anything written by Kylie Key.

I enjoyed this double incognito romance. I’ve read a few single incognito ones, but this was my first where the hero and heroine were both under cover. I really enjoyed it and how it handled high school cliques and friendships and all of the wisdom that is definitely relatable to those who are in any of those situations.

Alex and Blair were both likeable people. There was a good message of being genuine person and not judging others imbedded into the story. At times it seemed the angst was a little overdone but it didn’t detract from the story.

Unusual mix

Rich girl sent to "poor" side of the river has bad eyesight and acne. The beautiful bratty cheerleaders
Aren't spoiled. The lead of the play is scared. The eighteen year old boy from England is sort of perfect but inexperienced.

This was the first book of this series I read and at first I had a hard time getting behind the main character. Pretty quickly though I was very invested in their relationship. It had a good plot, good characters, and a good resolution so I really liked it.

This is book five in the River Valley High Boyfriend series and tells the story of Alex and Blair. Both meet on their first day after having to transfer to River Valley High School, when she trips and falls into his lap in the school office, as they get their timetables. They are both there under assumed names, to hide who they really are. Blair Pennington is pretending to be Blaire, with an ‘e’, Ashley, staying with her great aunt, who is in fact her family’s housekeeper for their big house on the other side of the river. She was accused of stealing a very expensive bracelet belonging to another student at Covington Prep and was sent home in disgust and shame. She tries to protest her innocence, but not even her own parents will believe her and her mother wants to send her far away due to the shame she has brought against their family name! There is even talk of a court case against her and her family.

Alex has been sent to an old family friend of his mother’s from long ago, to get him out of the eyes of the media in England, after a tragic event at his family’s estate outside of London. He is really a Viscount, as his father is an Earl, but pretends to be simply Alex Lord, an exchange student from England, there for a few months. He was used to going to an all-boys boarding school and has never had a real girlfriend. He ends up in the same drama class as Blaire and tries to hide the fact that drama is his thing, taking a non-speaking part in a zombie play that they are to put on in a few weeks’ time. He has been grabbed by two pretty girls, Chloe and Olivia, who try to keep his attention in the lunch hall and in classes. But since he started at the same time with Blaire, he likes hanging out with her.

Blair P. was Covington Prep royalty, coming from a very wealthy family who own the most popular ice cream parlour in town. She wore contact lenses, loads of make-up and all the latest fashions and accessories. As Blair Ashley, she has had her hair cut shorter with no colouring, huge glasses instead of her contacts and generic supermarket clothing! Realising that Alex likes her is a shock to the system, especially when she is hiding so much and nothing like she used to be, and he won’t actually be at the school for long. She makes a good friend with another shy girl called Lily and pushes her to be more confident and go for the role in the play she really wants. Alex starts to fall for Blaire, but thinks he should ignore his feelings, knowing he will be leaving soon enough, if matters have quietened down enough and the press have found another story to keep their interest, plus he is living a lie!

Both are living a lie and it starts to get harder and harder to make sure they don’t get discovered, especially for Blaire when she comes across some of her former fellow students in the mall and has to avoid Jack’s girlfriend Bella at school. Blaire feels deserted by her parents when her mother is always too busy to even call her, or let her know when she could come back to her old life. Nothing has been done to investigate the theft, nor to prove her innocence, so it looks like she will have to try and do this herself. With the Christmas break coming up and knowing she has to go home for the holidays, to face all those who know her and know what happened, as well as being separated from Alex, doesn’t make for many happy thoughts or feelings. But one of their identities will be blown over the festive period and this will give an ideal chance for the other to come clean as well.

A lovely and sweet romantic story between two high school seniors, who have been thrown into a situation out of their control and been forced to attend a different school and pretend to be someone they aren’t. They still manage to find some true friends and even find love with one another. You have to wait awhile to discover Alex’s story and the details of the tragic event that forced him to be sent to River Valley, but it is worth waiting for, sad though it is. I loved how the experience in an ordinary high school changed Blair and how things turned out in the end. I can’t wait to see who will be added to the next in the series. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
