Burnout #3

Crash & Burn

Rate this book
Keeping my distance to avoid getting emotionally involved, failed.

Remember that game of car-crew tug-of-war? Well, the rope snapped, leaving me alone in the center, unable to reach either dangling end.

The tension force in the rope and the resistance between the crews? That was my fault.

There is only one solution for fixing things — a modification to the plan that got us in this mess to begin with. I need to distance myself and do what I should have done the day I was forced into the job:

Burnout.

Circumstances initiated the challenge. Grit and determination filled the gas tank. I opened the throttle wide… and lost. But the daughter of the late automotive guru, Troy Delancey, does not give up just because she tasted defeat in the first couple of races.

The time has come to stage a match with my own set of rules and show these crews how to race — and win — like a girl.

This final flag drop is my only remaining hope.

Adell Ryan is a hubby/wife pseudonym. Adell writes unconventional love stories about fierce women and their numerous male suitors. Because let's be honest, we need more than one to satisfy our multi-dimensional needs. Right? Ryan simply puts up with Adell's crazy fantasies and toots her horn regularly. Occasionally he'll add in a shoulder pat, and a deep, sexy "Damn that's good stuff."

That southern boy (bless him) stole this northern girl's heart and they live together in the deep south, raising their three boys. When Adell isn't writing she's homeschooling — primarily working on dictation, making sure they say 'creek' instead of 'crick' and 'fire' instead of 'fer.' She also dabbles in photography and graphic design. Oh yeah, and reading. Every. Night. Much to Ryan's dismay. Sometimes she puts the steamy stuff down and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead though.

As a whole I didn’t love the series. I’m sad but there just wasn’t as much racing as I’d hoped for and the amount of secrets these characters all kept to the bitter end just pissed me off. They characters all plan to go their separate ways throughout the entirety of the series and this just didn’t leave me with the warm fuzzies about them as a happy and couple with a future. There was no epilogue which may have helped prove they had a HEA rather than a HFN. Feels like there are still some open threads & possibilities left unexplored. None of the characters really ever grew on me and everyone always seemed to be playing their own games. Even her brother was shady but I’m so glad he came through in the end, he saved the day. Ok trilogy, just wish I got more feels from it.

2.5 stars. Not the best conclusion but the book got better as it went along. This book is a bit longer than the other books but it didn't really feel like. I liked the ending but the beginning was rough.

Honestly, the beginning of this book confused me a lot. I read book two just a few days ago so I remembered most of the ending of that book. This one picks up right afterward but the tone felt super weird. It starts with Remi saying things like she didn't want to approach the guys because "the last thing this group of testosterone needs right now is a ton of estrogen filled questions." and then when she is talking to them she thinks "I try to sound as meek and humble as possible - to respect the male ego."
That kind of thing is a big no from me in general but it isn't even really in character. Remi does not act meek in any of the other books or even in the rest of this book. It really just put a bad taste in my mouth right from the beginning. The writing at the beginning also seemed really dramatic, even compared to the other two books. It became so flowery I was genuinely having a hard to figuring out what was happening. Maybe I was just tired but I really wasn't feeling the beginning.

Luckily it did get a bit better. I mostly liked the way the relationship between Remi and the boys continued to develop throughout this book. There were a few parts I didn't love. There were some questionable moments around consent with Remi and Hayes. In context, it didn't bother me too much but given Remi's history with sexual abuse, it did seem a bit out of character. The sex scenes in general seem crazier in this book. These characters have sex in so many weird places that it started to be a bit unbelievable. I do wish Jude had been more present. He basically runs away at the beginning and then doesn't show up until the end. He's a pretty important character so it seemed like he should have been more involved. His absence throughout this whole trilogy made it hard to develop the sibling relationship between him and Remi.

I also thought there were some pacing issues. So much happens in this book compared to the others. It means that major events get rushed through so we can get to the next plot point. I think some of these plot points should have been in the first two books so that it wouldn't have felt so chaotic in this last book. There's also a whole new character that gets put into this book, Lace, who becomes crutially important. It turns out she's a set up for this authors next series. I don't love that and if you are going to do that, I think it would have been better to introduce her in book two. I don't know if I'll read that next series but I hope the authors will actually include Lace's attraction to women in that series and not just use it as a throwaway line.

I'm glad I finished this series and I don't think it was a waste of time or anything. This was a fun trilogy and I enjoyed the ending. It just had some things that are major issues for me and the beginning just left me feeling weird about this finale. Overall, this was a fine series with some parts I really liked and some parts I really didn't like.

This was a conclusion to the series - but I don't really know how I feel about it. The pacing was once again weird. And the communication issues that slightly bothered me in book 2 made me quite annoyed in book 3. It made no sense that there were still secrets on all sides throughout 95% of the book. I am happy with the ultimate ending, but the way there left something to be desired.

Crash & Burn is the third and final book in the Burnout series. What an ending it was. This has been one of my favorite series this year and this final book was a great ending. I don't want to give anything away so this will be a bit difficult to write. I can say that we FINALLY get all the answers we have been waiting on. The way they play out, well you just have to read it.
After the last book, the group wasn't in the best of places. Secrets and lies had come out. So we start off having to build back what was lost. This gives us the chance to learn some more about the characters and their pasts. Crow. Oh Crow. Of course this also gave us a bit to be a bit mad at some of the group too. At least, I was. No calling names but he did make up for it in the end.
We got to meet some other characters in this book too and I have to say, I fell in LOVE with one of them.
Trying to keep it spoiler free and on the short side, this book was full of action, suspense, danger, heartbreak, love, intense damage (physical and emotional) and a lot of answers.
You've already been warned about that one sexy times scene too but let me tell you, IT WAS HOT! Absolutely perfect for these characters.
So all in all, this has been a great series that I have truly loved. I'm sad to see it go but it was a fantastic end and I hope we get to see more from this world in the future.

What a wild ride!!! This is a must read for sure!!

So so Amazing! I love the fact that there are not to many books out there like this one. I'm sad this series came to an end but what a wonderful ending it was!!! Super excited for Leather and Lace and hopefully Remi and her men make an appearance at the bike rally!!! I absolutely loved these three guys and Jude is definitely the role model every brother should set out to be!!!

Remi was amazing! I loved how she could hang with the best of them and talk shop with the guys as well!! Crow, Trenton, and Hayes are definitely a group of book boyfriend you wont forget anythime soon. I know I wont! Each guy brought something to the table and you just can't help falling for them all!! Definitely worth 5 amazing stars. I would give more if I could I know that for sure!!!

Crash and Burn was an exciting and quick read for me as I flew through the pages to get to the conclusion I was hoping for! I’ve been hooked since book one and besides Trenton, Hayes and Crow, the mystery of Remi’s secret definitely kept my attention. I loved Remi’s fight in this book and her willingness to set everything right no matter what. And Porter...don’t even get me started on him! I loved seeing the different dynamics between her and each guy and getting Crow to open up, FINALLY! I’m dying to see a glimpse in their future though. Loved this series and can’t wait for what’s next!

🎡 The story 🎡
All of Remi's lies have come to the light, and her world is falling apart. She'll have to figure out what to do - alone this time around.

Sigh, I can't believe it's over. I feel like this was a perfect end to the series, although there are still some things left unsolved, that I kinda wanted to see resolved in the end. First of all, the heartbreak in this book was written so damn well. The scene with Trenton, My heart actually freaking broke at that part, I felt so so damn bad. I feel like those scenes were written so well, and even though we got a sex scene, it felt heartbreaking still, because they both knew and acted like it'd be the last time. Besides that, I just feel like the pain the guys are experiencing was written so well as well - the way they make each other check in, just because they're scared of what the others will do when they are alone. I feel like depression in men isn't something that has been written about a lot, and I feel that was very well done in this book.

🎡 The characters 🎡
🏍️Remy🏍️
Remy had to learn how to be independent in this book, having to find a place for her own and such. I liked this, although she wasn't alone for that long. Speaking of - Lace was such a random character lol. I did like her, she was just so random haha. Remy's Some of her actions were a bit questionable to me, like her It wasn't completely consensual in my opinion, but didn't bother me that much - until I realized she was filming it??? Why on earth did she do that? I get that she later send it to Crow, but why was she filming it in the first place? I don't believe she had that in mind at that moment? Anyway, I'm glad she finally cleared things up with both the guys and Jude, I really do still like her as a character. I really want to buy a motorbike because of her.

🚦Revelry🚦
Crow, Trenton & Hayes
There were some very unexpected twists in their stories. Honestly, I didn't expect the Crow reveal at all. Damn, I already felt bad for the guy, but I felt even worse after that little nugget of information. Damn, I might love him even more. What was weird to me though, is that Remy said I think this is bullshit - she literally didn't know the girl, and some women just cheat on their spouses without it being rape??? I felt like that was really out of the blue, and not an okay thing to just conclude like that. I also hate that we'll never really know the story behind it, because we don't know if it was rape or not, and none of the parties involved can or will speak about it.
Crow's unexpected gentleness with Remi was so cute, This guy and his baseball cap are everything man. I still loved all of the guys, and like I said - I was heartbroken about Trenton. Damn, I love that guy. Their scheming was a bit weird to me - I don't know, those parts of the story just left me a bit confused. I liked the ending for the most part, but I just really want to know where they all end up. I'd love a novella or something, just to see if they do have a future together and such - they haven't even admitted their feelings to the other(s)? I don't know, but I really just wanted that.
“You’re my fucking antivenin, Remi.” Crow closes the distance between us again and pushes his fingers through the hair against the base of my neck. “Heal me.”

Anyway, I still love the friendship between these guys so damn much. The way Hayes and Trenton detoured traffic when Crow was laying on the ground, wanting to die, was freaking everything. And them making each other check in, that's real friendship. I love their bond so damn much :')
“What can I do to sway you?” Trenton pleads, still on his knee.
“Crow?”
“Nope. Hard no. Not doing Crow. Pen pals, then?”
A laugh bursts out of me. “No… I was addressing Crow.”

🎡 Overall conclusion 🎡
I'm happy with the way it all turned out, although I don't really want to say goodbye to the characters yet. I really wanted to have a glimpse into the future though, and I wish we'd gotten an epilogue or something.

Remi has lost everything. Her brother's favor and her the trust of the men she was falling for all in one swoop. Even if she didn't actively betray her men she still conspired to do so and in these men's world that is just the same. Now Remi has nobody to turn to and she must find a way to stand on her own. Her crazed ex is still out there, beaten but not out yet, and she must find a way to escape him while her brother and lovers ice her out. But her guys also kept secrets from her. Crow, most of all. Maybe its time for Remi and the rest of the Gulf Coasters to let the secrets out and find a way through them before they destroy everything they ever built. But that is easier said than done, isn't it?

I feel that this book was a little more scattered than the other two. One minute I was crying over the treatment Remi was getting and the heartbreak she was going through and the next she was making internal side comments about ass play. I had a hard time keeping up with the sudden change. It felt like the author got a little silly with the final book and that made the foundation of her story a little shaky. It felt like Remi was all over the place, wandering aimlessly, with no real destination in mind as far as what she would do for the rest of her life. Granted, all of this happened in the span of a few days to weeks so it is understandable. In that same school of thought I am glad that there was no 'I love yous' exchanged when the relationships were all so new. Obsession, absolutely. Forever love? That's a bit of a stretch. So I applaud the author for not taking that worn and weary path that most insta-love books take.

Remi was a lot more whiny and fragile in this book than in the others. Of course, she was going through three break-ups and the lost of her brother's affections all in the same time frame, so maybe that is to be expected. But when she was portrayed as being a badass no nonsense biker chick you'd think she'd be able to pick herself up a bit more than she did. I think she crumbled and cracked and it took someone getting hurt for things to be brought back together.

Trenton lost a lot of points with me in this book. The way he cavalierly talked about her when had their last moments together after the fact. I know he was trying to mask how much he was hurting but at the same time, it was just gross. I was really disappointed that the goofy guy turned into one of my least favorite of the trio.

I also wasn't a huge fan of their manipulation of her in the same manner as the perceived her of doing to them. I know the reason behind it and I am not giving the author a hard time for the choice but, damn, give the girl a break! I felt terrible for Remi and if I had been her I would have smacked the heck out of the three of them for the games they played with her heart as well.

The book left me on the edge of my seat and I never knew what was going to happen next. There were some revelations that made me even more confused than when I had tried to puzzle it out for myself. But the book, overall, was good. I read it in one night and felt good about stepping away from Remi and her guys at the end.

WELLL. So, the first 2 books of this series were pretty good, but this one was .. I don't even know. It was almost as if this series was only supposed to be 2 books long, but the author decided she wanted to add a third book to the series after the fact.
I think I only read the first 40% before I started skimming and ultimately skipped to the last chapter just to see how it all ended (which was kind of disappointing if I am being honest).

I think that book 2 would have been an adequate conclusion to this series with an epilogue to finish it out, but instead we got a whole book of a bunch of nothing.

The second book ends with Remi's secrets coming out - the guys know the role she played in the downfall (although really, their club disbanding is on them, not her) of their racing club and her brother knows about Porter abusing her. Although, whatever her big secret with Porter regarding the death of her father is still pretty vague...if it is ever revealed in the last book, I am unaware because like I said I basically skipped over the majority of the book.

She's lost the guys, or so it seems. and the entire time I am internally screaming because even though she was initially deceptive with her motives for spending time with them, she didn't actually contribute any information to help her brother and Porter. Its like the guys devalued their relationship completely they way they handled it. They know about her abusive relationship with Porter and never once give her the benefit of the doubt considering he is involved.

So then they decided to flip the switch and deceive her with their little impromptu investigation and it was stupid and hypocritical. They were so upset with what she did and rather than just flat out asking the questions they wanted answers to, they did what she was accused of and attempted their own manipulations. At that point, I was over the guys (except Crow, he seemed genuine). That was the point where I just started skimming.

There was just a lot that seemed like filler to make it a full length book. Instead, a few extra chapters on the second book would have been enough to wrap up this series. It was just kind of all over the place and the more I read the more annoyed waiting to find how it all would be concluded.

I don't know, I feel like this was a terrible way to end a pretty good series. This book ruined it for me.

If you read this series, just end it w/ book 2... ignore that there is a third book. Just trust me on this.

Whew! What an ending! This book was difficult to get through because there is just so much angst. A lot of crying and dealing with the past. Everyone gets distanced before they can come together again, and it is PAINFUL to read. I wish that there was more happy here proportionately and I felt like everything was wrapped up really quickly. There were also several moments of questionable consent--towards her but also in terms of what she does to her guys--which sat strangely with me since she was so sexually abused. There is also the fact that they all lie to each other and hide things until the very end, so I wanted to see more of them being a little bit healthier. I like that the book sets up world-building to potentially continue, and I really liked Lace so I may check it out. I think I just wanted to see them all in domestic bliss more.

Tropes: contemporary RH; 23 year old female with lots of secrets and a history in street racing meets 3 males involved in the local (rival) scene (1 open, flirty, and playful; 1 nerdy, awkward, and a gamer; 1 brooding and tattooed); crude language and sexy times throughout; rough sex and kink--anal sex, voyeurism/exhibitionism, sex with multiple partners at a time, sex in public, recording videos of sexy times; characters in peril; she was recently in an abusive (physically, mentally, and sexually) domestic partnership; gaslighting and manipulation; mentions of murder of parents/family members; deceit and hidden motivations; gun violence and various threats; car accidents and hospital stays.

Heat rating: NUCLEAR—explicit sex, indelicate language during sex, and graphic depictions of a sexual nature used to further the story; may also include light kink; not quite enough for an EXPLICIT level (5), but takes it a level past HOT (3).

Normally I would write a review, or a thought on a book as I finished. I did not feel like I could do that for books one and two because the three books all continue a full story. Confession, I am not a fan of books that don’t tie up some storylines at the end. As Reverse Harem goes, this one is a little less on the Harem side and a whole lot more of the car club racing side. The author knows what she is doing, she has authored a previous book that I read that is a crossover on this story with another character. These stories are all about Remi and three men that she meets due to her brother, Jude, and Porter, their friend and total *sshat asking her to infiltrate their little car racing club. I will not go into the *sshat portion of the story, but there are triggers (I will note below). Remi finds Trenton, runs into Hayes, and has a side-eye contest with Crow at a bar, and thus begins her relationship with them. There is a whole lot of trust breaking and building in these stories. Adell Ryan, at least the books I have read, has a good handle on what it takes for a reverse harem dark romance, and I was engaged enough that I wanted to jump to the next book right away. There are a lot of scenarios within the story that were not necessary IMHO, but the darkness was needed for the plot. If I had a bookshelf of dark romances, these would definitely land there.

TW: violence, death of a parent, rape, kidnapping, death of a spouse

Epic finale!!

Crash & Burn is book 3 of the Burnout series, and must be read in order.

Holy crap. I don’t know what I expected of that book, but whatever it was, this book just blew it out of the water.

This book starts with pain. Secrets that have festered, and become infected, causing sooooo much pain. For everyone. Do not enter this book without tissues handy. The drop from this emotional rollercoaster is fierce, but it needs to be, to accomplish such an epic ending.

We learn history. Painful history of the guys, and how everything adds up. We also experience the mic drop of the full truth at the end.

About halfway through, we start to see the upturn, when everything starts to add up, and the mood lifts. And the steam. The steam slowly builds through this book. The emotional switch of sensual scenes in this book was so masterfully scripted, that part of the relationship was a journey. A journey of sorrow, of hurt, of manipulation, and of reunion. Half the battle for this family was fought in this book. And the HEA was one I cheered for!

Story 📖: 5/5!!! Amazing!
Heat 🔥: 5/5!!

I always read books like this as a palette cleanser, and honestly, they’re all on the same level. Not bad bad, definitely entertaining, but also not that great.

I usually show my man the books I’m about to read and give him my predictions. For this one, I said, “It’s probably about a girl who’s not like other girls.”
And what’s the first sentence?

“Despite being taller than the average woman, I still can’t reach the top shelf in my new walk-in closet.”
So yeah… that set the tone perfectly.

The plot holes were ginormous (insert pothole joke here).
The FMC is the classic unicorn “not like other girls” type, apparently the first woman to ever know anything about motorcycles.
The MMCs were fine, not super memorable, but not terrible either. The villain, though? Genuinely awful (in the way a villain should be). Hated him to the bone, so props for that.

The ending did feel kind of rushed.

And one final note, from a European who has sat on a bike: for the love of all that’s mighty, wear some gear.
The lack of any mention of safety equipment was wild to me. I know Florida has some chaotic laws (or none at all), but stay safe out there.

Wow wow wow hooked line and sinker

Omg this book takes you on such an emotional eye opening ride. As soon as you pick up the book your thrown straight into the action that ended book 2. From here we see Remi have to go through so much heartache as the guys tell her they need time and has to find somewhere to go. When on the beach she meets Lace who tells her more about Crow and his past plus also tells her of a place she can stay.
From this point we see things get even worse for Remi, but Crow, Trenton and Hayes come to the rescue when needed. To go through so much together that leaves Remi wanting to make things right. Which in turn ends the book in such a great way wrapping everything.
This book also has some steamy scenes to it which makes the read complete as after all the things they go through Remi especially deserves it.
Sad to see the end would love to read more, but happy to with such a great book and series

Inconclusive

I enjoyed the first 2 books, especially as the characters first met and got to know each other (albeit superficially). It felt like all the characters' secrets were held back too long and then dumped in the last book. It left this 3rd book full of plot but very little in the way of relationship and character development. It was a bit rushed and all over the place. I don't really feel like the characters resolved anything or communicated well. I also don't feel like it was a love story. There was no real exchange of feelings or intimacy...just sex. Also, I felt like Remi's story had a lot of inconsistencies. Wasn't she in college? What are her long-term hopes and dreams? What are the guys? None of this is ever really discussed. Even the author points it out that they don't really know anything about each other (favorite foods, colors, etc) It all felt like a bit of summer fling that will eventually just turn into a friendship.

So I was looking forward to this last and final book of the Burnout series and few pages into this book, I was confused as hell with regards to what was happening! There was a lot of information here and there and nothing made sense to me. I kept wondering if I missed something after the ending of book 2! I was also getting disappointed with the story especially after everyone decides to go their separate ways. It felt like the book suddenly stopped being interesting and I kept wanting to DNF it. I kept reading only because I really didn't want to DNF a book from a series I loved so far and that too a final book (ahem..let's ignore the last Havoc book)!

But damn..half way through and the story suddenly picked up for me! I couldn't freaking stop and finished reading in one sitting! So if anyone feels that the book is dragging initially, don't worry! It gets better after 50 percent.

I love the interactions between Remi and the guys! The love and the banter are super fun to read! And the three-way that happened towards the end..fuck! The imagination of the author for that scene..damn was that scene hot!

I understood why the guys wanted space from her especially since Remi has been behind them for reasons other than being simply attracted to them. I kinda hated the scene where she tried to seduce Hayes.. By that scene I was all in support of the guys and wanted Remi to grovel a little regardless of all the bad shit that happened to her till then (the assault from the beginning and the accident). I also kinda hate that Remi found out Crow's story from Lace..I guess there was a need to include the new character to set a base for a new story but Crow's story is fucking personal and it should have come from him!

The ending was great. Pretty amazing series. And yep..I'm excited for the new series Adell Ryan is writing. Lace seems like a badass woman and I can't wait to meet the elusive MC boys she mentioned!

Brilliant ending!

I’m so sad Remi’s story is over but what an amazing 3 books
Sensitive in parts in all 3 books so for anybody who struggles with abuse etc then this would not be a good choice

It’s a fast and furious mix with the FMC knowing her stuff about cars
She moves with her brother and his best friend
After losing her father a few months ago this was suppose to be like a fresh start for them
There’s so much that Remi doesn’t know about this move and is asked by her brother and his best friend for her to work for them seeking a underground racing group
During her time figuring this out she discovers so much about herself, trust, secrets and much more
Add in 3 yummy men and not forgetting the sexy cars and it’s a journey you don’t wanna miss 😁

Detectives misunderstood

This part the finish is good... Some how I had this idea that her brother was gonna die... Happy to report Jude is one of those misunderstood detectives. I have to admit I think it might be fun to have his story too. I kinda wish we learned a little more about her guys, and it would be great to see them in another story as extra characters... So we can see what they decide about Jude's proposals. In this book the truths all come out and true feelings get tested and revealed. It Is a good story. I could not put it down took 3 days to read close to 1000 pages. it was an up all night story. There was humorous bits, tearful bits, and agrivating bits too but it was pretty fast paced without any long lulls in excitement.

I give it 5 stars but I wanted to give it 4 stars at first, but decided that the book was actually really good and it would not be fair to give a lower rating over something that might just be my preference. It was just that I think that the last book in a series should have the FMC and guys come together in their relationship. The previous book ended with a fight and a lot of anger. I was expecting this one to solve that and then go to the end game. But the solving of their issues took quite a long time and there was even some deception. Maybe the previous book should've ended with the saying goodbye to Trenton. But then again the ending of the previous book was also really good.

What A Rush!!!!!!

What a story and series. I have loved this series from start to finish. It is jammed packed with drama, suspense, mystery, and some sexy hot scenes. It drew me in and didn’t let go. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I absolutely loved Remi and her guys. I would love to see more of Jude and his overprotective self. The ending was fantastic and so fitting for the story. As addictive as racing is to some in the story this story is an addiction all by itself. There are times the humor as you laughing out loud and there are times you feel the pain being brought on in the scene. This is an absolute must read and doesn’t disappoint.

So, it nicely tied up the threads from the first two, so kudos for that. But all in all, my overall review of the trilogy is "meh." There's a lot where "show don't tell" would apply. The big secret is predictable. Most of the other revelations are predictable. The relationship between the four ends well, but I wouldn't actually recommend the books, because while the writing isn't bad, it isn't good enough (compared to what I want) for me to spend my time reading it while there's so much else to read (and reality to deal with). I'll pass on future books by this author.

Nice

Okay, I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from this book series when the main character leaves the house on a damn bicycle. I read on anyway. I was pleased to have my first thoughts go down the drain. This series had me tearing up and raging in the best way. The dynamic between the couples was all over the place, but they were addicted to each other. It was cute and frustrating in one toxic bubble of romance. Yet, they were each other's cure. I recommend this book but make sure you're ready for some triggers because the protagonist is living in Hell with her roommate. And you will be mad at every guy in her life most of the time. Still worth it.

Fun and angsty series!

Overall this is a fun series- binged it. Started last night and finished today. This last book had some frustrating elements. I love the angst when they learn of the betrayal but after her accident and she gets out of the hospital I was really looking forward to scenes with the guys caring for her as she recovered but it was like nothing had happened! And even after realizing how difficult things are because they haven’t been fully open and honest with each other they are still all keeping secrets. But the story does wrap up and we get a really nice HEA.

Crash and Burn is the final book in the Burnout series and it was filled with more twists than a back country road. Remi now has to face the past, protect the ones who have her heart, seek retribution for and forgiveness from Trenton, Hayes and Crow. What better way than in the world her father fought so hard to keep her from?? The view from the rearview mirror can be distorted but videos do not lie. Truth may be more than anyone can handle.

Does Remi have what it takes to fix what she caused to fall apart? Read to find out how Remi deals with betrayal, blackmail, love and the men that she wants to see happy.

2.5 stars

third book in this series and it all felt really rushed. the final confrontation with Porter was both predictable and underwhelming, not great given the the building that led up to this point over three books.

the end? lacklustre.. an epilogue maybe would’ve been a marked improvement, even if was only months later given the random introduction of Lace and her spinoff series to come.

if I were to rate the series as a whole, I’d give it 2.5 stars. the first two books were markedly better than the last.

Dump the clutch and WOT.

Dang what a great series! It totally sang to my inner gear head! I loved the mystery, steam and themes (family, friendships and don’t drive stupid) in this (and the other book. But honestly? The thing that hooked me was from book one when the author elucidated on the difference between a bimmer and a beamer. Silly? Sure, but showed they knew their stuff! Can’t wait to dive into Lace’s story and bikers are cool but really liked the street racing/tuner angle.

What a crazy ride

We finally got all the answers we've been waiting for and it did not disappoint. With the group not being in the best place after everything that happened in the last book, the last thing expected was for that sweet ending. We get to learn even more about the characters pasts than before and why they were so affected by the secrets and betrayals happening. Remi was determined to make things right no matter the cost to herself and we finally get to see the end of all those secrets. Remi and the guys make this a fun read.
