Worlds Away From You

Rate this book
Seventeen-year-old Robin Montgomery lives in Colorado but wants nothing more than to meet her long-term online boyfriend Mason. When he starts pressuring her to move to London and be with him instead of following her dreams and dancing on Broadway, she starts to realise first love isn't as easy as she first thought. High School quarterback and king of the popular crowd, Nathaniel Lewis, has had enough drama to last a lifetime. With a cheating girlfriend, tragedy in the family and a pressure to succeed and get a football scholarship, all he wants is to have an easy summer working his dish washing job. Little did they know their lives would come crashing together when they ended up becoming next-door neighbours in the summer before senior year. A story about following your dreams, listening to your heart, and realising not everyone is who you think they are.

Short, sweet, and relatable is how I would best describe this debut novel.

Robin Montgomery is SO relatable as a teenager just doing her thing in high school. Not a popular girl but not unpopular either. She focuses on herself, dancing, and her future. She finds comfort in friends online since she hasn’t met many people with her same interests in real life. She’s been dating a guy she met online for three years, Mason, but has never met him in real life. Then the high school quarterback Nathaniel moves in next door with his family and everything changes. Robin has a bright future but where and with who?

I felt myself getting into a reading funk and this book pulled me out of it! Such an easy and fun read. One of the positives I enjoyed and took away from this book was Robin’s relationship with her parents being so open and healthy. I hope that I can have that kind of relationship with my daughter one day as well.

Highly recommend this read for anyone interested in YA Romance!

This book was impossible to put down. The characters personalities really come through with the writing and you end up falling in love with (most) of the characters.

The storyline flows really well and had a plot twist that blew my mind. I always go back to this book for a comfy, lovely read.
