Christmas is coming soon and Sammy's elderly father has decided the entire family should spend Christmas at their old beach house. Sammy is left with the responsibility of organizing this event with her uncooperative siblings. She hasn't been back to the shore since her junior year of college when she walked away and never looked back. This trip will force her to look back, to remember the man she was planning to marry and to reconnect to her mother and herself. Christmas at the Shore is a sweet story of love, family and remembering what is truly important during the holidays.
I had the great pleasure of reading a magical Christmas book called “Christmas at the Shore” by Angela Lewis Buckner. It is a romantic and heartwarming Christmas story that had me from the beginning.
Now let me tell you a bit about this wonderful book. Our main character Sammy Alexander spent every summer in a quaint family owned beach house with her mom, dad. sister Lizzy and brother Mac. This was a place Sammy loved as did her mother when she was alive.
It was the summer when Sammy was 20 years old and met Kyle Martin that life became complicated. They fell in love during that glorious summer together at the beach and planned to spend the rest of their lives together. Except without saying a word to Kyle she left to go back home to become an accountant and work in her fathers firm. That was 7 years ago and she had not been back. What happened that made Sammy leave her summer haven and Kyle?
If not for her father’s wish to spend Christmas with his children and grandchildren at the beach house she would never have gone back. This trip would change all their lives. Would it be for the better? Ah dear readers that is for you to find out.
Verdict:
Ms. Buckner captured my emotions from the onset and took me on a glorious trip through her writing to the beach house and Christmas at the shore. I highly recommend this book and give this 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a sweet story. Christmas at the Shore pulls the reader in and makes it hard to put this book down. It is about a family trying to reconnect after the death of their mother, when their father decides to have one last Christmas at the old family beach house. Sammy had to make this happen but there is a problem. Her first and last love still lives in that little beach town and she hasn't seen him since she walked away. You will enjoy the romance, family and Christmas themes woven throughout this book.
