I remember reading the title story of this short story collection in one of our Sinhala Literature text books, at school. Can't remember which grade I was in back then, probably it was during my OLs. Used to read and re read the story many times. I was so glad to hear the book has been re-printed. Got my copy from the Colombo book fair few weeks ago and finished reading the book within a day. Another great translation and a collection of 10 unforgettable short stories. Choosing these stories itself would have been a difficult task since it never could be as easy as translating a short story book directly to Sinhala because these stories were written by 10 different authors from 10 different countries. I assume he had to refer a handful of books to get these stories together. Enjoyed the book so much. Reading K. G Karunathilaka is always a unique experience.
