Chase Connor spends his days writing about the people who live (loudly and rent-free) in his head when he’s not busy being enthusiastic about naps and Pad Thai. Chase started his writing career as a confused gay teen looking for an escape from reality. Ten years later, one of the books he wrote during those years, Just A Dumb Surfer Dude: A Gay Coming-of-Age Tale, was published independently. Chase has numerous projects in various stages of completion lined up for publishing. Chase is a multi-genre author, but always with a healthy dollop of gay.
It was so much better. Chase Connor does his characters so very well and as always when the book(s) end you miss them like friends. Like in this one, who wouldn’t love Lucas so much? The supernatural twist is there all the time but accelerates toward the end. I never understood the re-iterations of Rob’s memories but I guess it can be good I’d you read them with time between each book, not back to back as I did. All in all an intriguing series of books by a great author.
Chase Connor is such a wonderful writer, and I'm definitely a fan-girl. I read all six "Jacob Michaels is..." books as well as CARNAVAL in a matter of weeks. I loved everything about these stories. Rob is such a cool character and his relationship with Lucas made me swoon. Oma made me laugh out loud. Carlita was powerful and amazing. The paranormal aspects were handled perfectly, keeping me swiping through the stories to learn more about the weird little Ohio town of Point Worth.
The books' imagery made it feel like I was watching it play out in a movie in my mind. I could picture Lucas's house, Ernst, Rob's bedroom, and even Oma's garden. The action and the romance were perfectly balanced, and I loved how each story had me wanting more of Rob and Lucas, of Oma, of the mystery of Rob's past. I can't wait for the next installment, releasing any day now, so I can spend even more time with these characters who I've grown to love over the past couple of weeks. Especially considering the ending of Book 6... Oh Mr. Connor, you writing genius :) I will one-click follow Rob and Lucas and Oma as long as you are willing to continue writing them!
