Damn... it hurts to be a rainbow person. This book is really eye-opening on what it’s like to be human, to be hurt, to triumph over those pains caused by love. The book may be about girl love, but what made it great was the ambiguity of themes within this book.
Heartbreak, first loves, self-discovery, opening up and vulnerability, family love, grit.
This is a 4-star book to me though, because there are some clichés to it that I saw as unnecessary (like the best friend, single parents kinda thing).
Nevertheless, I love love love this book! Keep it up S.J. Wolf! Hoping to find a Jenny comeback if ever! Mwuahahahaha :>

Such an emotional roller coaster about friendship, love and heartaches. This book gives you a whole new perspective about meeting an extraordinary person, giving in to their charm and eventually falling in love with them. In the first few pages, I immediately connected with the characters, which made it super fun to read. This book really tugged on my heartstrings, and gave me goosebumps when I got to the end.

(I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, but it probably is so just in case.)
I also don't have much to say about the book besides the characters were lovable and also very relatable, and it really shows how complicated relationships can be. Sierra was such an interesting character too, maybe there were red flags that were sprinkled out that would give a warning on what's to come but if there were just like Vina I couldn't see it myself. Very well played false sense of security. Also the ending really left me feeling hurt and confused which is what I think is supposed to happen since it's probably also what Vina felt. The book did a very good job in my opinion of making you feel the different emotions of the characters. The entire time when I was reading I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. Sometimes I felt happy and other times I felt a lot of weight on my heart because I could feel the sadness. I hope there's a second book coming though that maybe explains Sierra's actions a little or maybe it could be in Sierra's perspective. But overall once again even without the suggestion. Definitely worth reading. :)

This was a fun read that rotates around Vina's friendships, family, and even her heartaches. It was easy to connect with the characters, but I had a bit of problem when it comes to how our main character handles problems. Instead of confronting both her ex and the other red haired crush, she chose to flee from the confrontation. She should have heard those two people's side before deciding what she should do. Honestly, I was rooting for her to at least find answers to my lingering questions: " Why did you do that?" and "What made you do this to me?" There should have been closure. Despite how bad Natalia was, it would be great if Vina confronted Natalia why she acted that why since Natalia might have had a psychological trauma of some sort (not a psychologist but a thing to consider) before deciding to break things off.
I'm a bit satisfied with the ending. I think it's great that she's prioritizing her friendships and her family over romance. Self-love is important too.
Despite what I mentioned above, it was still a great read, considering I rarely pick up a book that is in the 1st POV. I felt like I was the main character's friend and was so engrossed in her story.

dnf after 2 years - i just can't stand the writing style. it's so repetitive, almost like the dialogue kept going around in circles.

A lot of thoughts: mostly just overwhelmed with emotion once I finished reading it.
I loved the stories of friendship, family, romance, and everything in between. I enjoyed this book to the point where I would take breaks before proceeding to the next chapter because I didn't want it to end: I wanted to stay in this universe.
Adorable and well-written WLW romance as well.
4/5 for me because of the clichés & because it was a bit slow at first imo! Nonetheless, worth the read. Annotating was super fun too & I'm pretty sure my copy came with missing pages, but SJ Wolf was kind enough to send me pictures of those so I could finish it!!!
