Mentre leggevo, ho pensato che Madge Swindells ha impostato il romanzo proprio come una sciatrice affronterebbe una discesa libera. E’ partita cauta, in sordina, testando le condizioni della pista e della neve, ha poi preso velocità, finendo a tutta birra nel finale. Non so se l’abbia fatto coscientemente, però anche la struttura ricalca il racconto. I personaggi svelano a poco a poco personalità a dir poco complesse, dove la più trasparente è senza subbio la protagonista, Megan. Gli altri sono, chi più chi meno, contorti e portatori di segreti che ne condizionano vita e azioni. In questo senso, Ian è il più sfuggente e a più riprese verrebbe voglia di prendere Megan a sberle e chiederle: “ma perché”? Non solo Megan, ma tutte le donne sembrano stregate dalla sindrome della crocerossina, quell’io ti salverò che tante donne continua a rovinare ancora oggi. Love Conquers All?

I thought Megan's love for Ian was an interesting take on what love is, and isn't. Additionally, Ian's dedication to his "job " was a great twist. This book kept my interest. I think it was an excellent read.

Not her best

I painfully finished reading this book but it was just a frustrated love story, I have enjoyed her other novels, so looked forward to this book . ☹

Loved this novel.Plots within plots.Excellent description s of the Olympics,.Grea tand excellent writing.Really did enjoy this novel.Love her books.lVery pleased .

Fantastic read

Snow, skiing, sex is all here in abundance. Megan looks after sports stars for her company. Nikki and Jacqui are two of her best bets for the Winter Olympics but sabotage is afoot not to mention love....
