Winner - 2021 Moonbeam Awards, Gold, Best Picture Book Series

Lovable, curious Little Mouse is back to help children use yoga to solve problems and manage emotions in Yoga at the Museum , the third book in the Little Mouse Adventures series, written by award-winning author Teresa Power and illustrated by Emma Allen.

Little Mouse loves to doodle and daydream, which often gets in the way of his schoolwork!

When he and Mr. Opus, his wise yet lazy feline best friend, get the opportunity to tag along on a trip to the museum, they leap at the chance!

During their museum adventure, Little Mouse learns about famous artwork plus simple yoga poses related to the paintings. For example, (w)hen Little Mouse comes across a bright red flower, he relaxes in flower pose. This painting, Red Poppy, was done by Georgia O'Keefe."

Upon his return home, Little Mouse is delighted to realize he can use his new knowledge to help him focus and stay calm during homework time!

Yoga at the Museum is a fun introduction to both yoga and art appreciation, gently blending humor, whimsy, and adventure with crucial life skills.

"A wonderful and creative way to expose children to mindfulness through the arts! This book incorporates simple yoga poses as a reminder to parents and kids that we can find inspiration for wellness all around us--even in paintings at a museum." - Trinita Ervin, CEO and founder of Ladybug for Girls

"This sweet book reminds us that even our youngest friends have frustrating moments, and it gives easy-to-do yoga poses to help calm and recenter our thoughts." - Liesl Mahoney, Associate Educator for School and Family Programs, Brandywine River Museum of Art

"This delightful story shows children how creative exploration through art, yoga, and mindfulness practices can bring the balance needed to conquer even the trickiest parts of the day." - Jill Kelsey, Editor-in-Chief, First Time Parent Magazine

"More so than most other titles on the subject of yoga for this age group (and, they are rare indeed),  Little Mouse Adventures: Yoga at the Museum gives a fine opportunity to teach balance, methods for achieving calmness, and creative problem-solving skills for a younger age than is usually given yoga teachings. The blend of mindfulness training and artistic appreciation offers many opportunities for parent/child read-aloud enjoyment and enlightenment in a picture book story that is also whimsically fun." - D. I might be a little biased, because I am the author, but this book is extra special to me. I studied art history in college and am excited about the opportunity to introduce children to famous art, authors and yoga at the same time!

So cute! It is just absolutely adorable to watch my 3-year-old daughter try yoga poses. This story is so creative and encourages a positive outlet to release frustration. It’s done in a way that is also so educational! My daughter loved to do the breathing and poses as the book went on, and she also loved looking at the paintings! It’s not just generic illustrations, the actual paintings are replicated on the pages! My only problem was that I had to keep flipping to the reference at the end of the book that shows the little girl doing the yoga poses. It would have been nice to see a small picture on the page itself. Highly recommend! Will definitely buy the other books in the series! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Loved to learn about the art pieces and the yoga poses. I am not too knowledgeable on either subject. A great way to learn along with my grandchild. It was a little difficult to see the mouse and his poses as I read on my phone or a small tablet. It was nice to have the mobi option.

A colorfully illustrated book that teaches about friendship, art and yoga.

Little mouse learns about mindfulness and yoga that helps him to focus better. He learns about art while on an adventure with his best friend Mr. Opus.

All of these things together make an engaging story that educates the reader about yoga through selected paintings by famous artists.

It demonstrates and names the yoga pose and cleverly connects them to the art pieces in the story.

This book will interest adults and children with valuable information that sparks interest for further study if the reader chooses to do so.

When I received this book, I quickly read it. But when I came to the end and saw the yoga poses, that Little Mouse strikes, I found that I had to re-read the book to see his take on the poses. Little Mouse is adorable and it is a treat to see him try the different poses. His little feet tucked under him. Overall it was delightful and at the same time introduced the child to art and to yoga,

I received an ARC of this book for consideration in my library's collection. While I do enjoy the premise, the text itself was a bit stilted, possibly geared more toward early readers. The introduction to famous artists' works is wonderful, but the illustrated yoga poses were lost since Little Mouse is, well, too little and his colors lighter/blended in against the human children and the colorful art.

This book is so cute! I've never seen a book that combines art appreciation and yoga for little ones. The illustrations of the famous artwork are so colorful and accessible for children and I love how the author linked each piece to a specific yoga pose. Each time you re-read it with your children, you'll find something new to learn and to love!

My niece loves this book! She makes us all participate and do yoga with her. So much so that she's been granted the nickname "Yogi." During these crazy work-from-home times, it's so nice to have an interactive book that we can all enjoy together!
