Reading thriller books always excites me as it keeps me guessing till the end.

There is a case of high-profile cases which disrupts the city of Mumbai and its outskirts.

*This case leads the police inspector KP Singh, into uncovering the dark world of serial homicides and other mysteries. The case takes KP Singh from the suburbs of Mumbai to Kolhapur and various interesting places.

*There is a new revelation, a new twist and turn in the case every day, which keeps KP Singh guessing the next move. The world turns into a tragedy when he finds that the real story behind this is something else, darker and very unexpected. He gets hold of the culprits one by one.

*As KP Singh swims the deep waters of crime, corruption, revenge, deceit, the journey becomes increasingly complex, with each new twist adding layers of intrigue to the plot.

Highlights of the book-

1) The Language used is simple and easy to understand. Even a first time reader will easily understand.

2) The supporting characters have been brilliantly written and add up to the story perfectly.

3) The Narration is crisp & Clear.

4) The story is not unnecessarily stretched, which keeps the story engaging. The book is a few hours read as it is under 185 pages.

5) All the stories can be visualised in front of the eyes, as it happened with me throughout.

6) The book is a collection of six short murder mysteries and each one is a greatly written and well-paced.

The Stories are -

* The Murder in the Rain
* The Murderous Fall
* The Last Swim
* Abducted
* The Honey Trap
* The Kolhapur Murders

The Murder In The Rain by Moitrayee Bhaduri - A short and sweet engaging thriller

Book: The Murder In The Rain by Moitrayee Bhaduri
Genre: Crime Thriller
Rated: 13+
Synopsis: The Murder In the Rain by Moitrayee Bhaduri revolves around the mysterious murder of Rakesh Ponkshe by few henchmen in the rainy night. KP Singh is in charge to investigate Rakesh's death. The rest deals with finding the culprit behind the murder.

Review: The Murder In The Rain by Moitrayee Bhaduri is a short, yet engaging thriller with simple narrative and it's really challenging for an author to deliver an intriguing thriller for just 30+ pages. Moitrayee Bhaduri efficiently brought up the thrills and chills through this book and it gives a good lead to the upcoming sequel, which it has yet another four parts that revolves around KP Singh's investigation.

Positives:
📖 Excellent narrative style
📖 Intriguing as well as short and sweet

Negatives:
📖 A short and sweet novels can be lagged in minor details when it comes to thrillers. This book too has little bit of detailing errors which can be an added advantage for engaging thriller.

Overall:
The Murder In The Rain by Moitrayee Bhaduri is a short and sweet intriguing thriller to read.

Review: Since I have loved her other two books, I purchased this immediately. And I dont know what to say, I am confused. The Story introduces KP Singh the main characters in this as well as the upcoming book, his past and his present. Not sure if that will be mentioned in the other book or so. So KP Singh is set to investigate the murder of his maids husband and how he comes to the truth is what the story is.

What I liked about the book is its story, short yet powerful. But I didnt like is its too short just 28 pages.I felt i was watching Crime Patrol( Dont hate me for this, I do love watching it.) I just completed the book in 15 mins and I was like why did it get over soon. I am confused on reviewing for it as its so short, I dont want to give out on the end. I would have liked if the pages and content were atleast a 100 page.

If you want a quick read, go for it. But for me I was disappointed.

Rakesh Ponkshe, a middle -aged businessman, lived with his wife and his son. He used to borrow money from moneylenders and his own employees.

Rakesh's wife, Leena was very happy that her son, Tinu got admission in an English medium school. Next day, she got the news that Rakesh was murdered by someone. And then began the investigation.

The book was a short story only of 28 pages. That's why the characters couldn't tie the story. But if this story were a bit long, it could have left some lingering effect. The book cover was really beautiful. The language and the writing style of the book was easily understandable. I'll wait for the future releases of the series.

Waiting for more mystery to unfold

The book begins well and slowly yet intricately unlocks the layers of mysteries surrounding the gruesome murder. I liked KP Singh's investigation procedure, but was dissatisfied at the rather simplistic end. Looking forward for more mysteries to unfold in the series ahead.

It's really bad

This is a pathetic attempt at writing. There is absolutely no character arcs. No layers. No excitement and plot thickening. The author really needs to work hard.

Short sweet story. Perfect for a longer bus ride!
May be more impactful as a webseries, though

I would not divulge any spoilers here, but the story begins well as a whodunnit when middle class businessman Rakesh Ponkshe is murdered by two men and his corpse thrown into a pond to eliminate evidence. So, who killed Rakesh and why? Well, you’ll obviously have to read the book to find out. I liked the climax and the couple of twists involved there. The story has a pace and is perfect like a delicious midnight snack that you devour fast before anyone else finds out.
