Satyajit Ray (May 2, 1921 – April 23, 1992), was a film maker and one of the greatest film directors of the twentieth century and as a well-known writer. He was also a composer and producer of many films. His first film Pather Panchali, won 11 international awards. He was a creator of two most popular fictional characters in Bengali literature- One detective Feluda, another scientist Professor Shanku.
