The Humans and Wassarrans who had investigated the cities built entirely of stone on Ranklin by an unknown race, are called upon to continue their investigation when a derelict space ship made of stone is discovered in an uncharted star system.
This book, The Stone Ship, is a sequel to my first novel, The Stone Builders. As Humans and Wassarrans continue to explore the galaxy, they locate a derelict space ship in an uncharted star system. A team is called together to investigate, including most of those who investigated the cities made entirely of stone on the colony planet Ranklin. A scout ship goes in-system to look for escape pods, one of which had been found not far from the main ship. They do find a pod, which looks to be in good shape on a planet, but when their ship lands to investigate, they can't take off again. Can they find a way to get back into space and rejoin their mother ship, or are they doomed to live the rest of their lives on this planet?
