Read for my toddler’s bedtime. A ladybug named Lu who doesn’t know how to fly. One windy day, she fell out of her favorite daisy. She couldn’t get back up because she doesn’t know how to fly. Different bugs (caterpillar, ants, butterfly, spider) came to her rescue, all teaching and helping her to fly.
Lu, the Little Ladybug That Was Afraid to Fly, written by Yuliya Barannikova. Illustrated by Bohdana Bondar. Published 08 November 2020 by Tvorchi Group. Children’s Literature. Kindle edition. 5 Stars.
Gorgeously illustrated by Bohdana Bondar, your kids will be delighted by Lulu, who is helped by her nature friends, Mr. Caterpillar, some brown ants, Mrs. Spider, etc., to overcome fear and fly. Highly recommend!
I love the illustration and every little creature in the book. They are all here to help the little lady bug who was afraid to fly. The author is creative to involve all kinds of bugs and develop their own way in helping out.
The message of conquering fear, helping each other is well conveyed! I love that I can find printable on the author's etsy shop. We do our colouring, counting and literacy learning with Lu! Another hour well spent!
Lu, the Little Ladybug is the sweetest story. This book is about a ladybug that wants to fly but isn’t quite ready. She gets a little help, a lot of encouragement, and creative flight ideas from forest friends to help her tackle her fear! The illustrations are beautiful and there are nature learning opportunities on every page!
Powerful, inspiring!!!Sometimes all we need is to believe in ourselves. So special for kids, bringing an important message to our little ones. To learn, you need to try. You definitely need to give it a try! My boys loved the story so much!!!
I love the simple message of this book: you never know until you try. I think it will help kids to conquer their fear of the unknown and maybe discover something they’ll truly love.
This is a beautifully written and illustrated book. Lu the ladybug wants to fly but is afraid to try. She meets many animals who try to help her overcome this fear. The author has done a great job to help teach children to never give up.
A lovely story about overcoming your fears by taking chances and trusting friends along the way. This is a sweet picture book that will help little ones understand the importance of trying new things.
I liked this little book. It had a very important lesson about not letting our fears hold us back and teamwork. If I had a child I would read them this book.
Lu (little Ladybug) her favorite place to sit a white daisy flower. All the other ladybugs were flying. Lu would learn to fly soon. 1-day day a big wind blew her off the white daisy flower. Lu was scared. Mr. Caterpillar tried to comfort her.
Who else gave her lot of advice on how to learn to fly?

An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures, charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (preschool/elementary age) Lady Bug storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational presentation (overcoming fears, confidence), movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free author(s); FreeBooksy; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn) Ants, Mrs. Spider, Mrs. Butterfly,
This is a story about a little ladybug that couldn’t fly because she never spread her wings. She kept saying she would give it a try, but try means to do something, and she wouldn’t spread her wings until she took a ride on Mrs. Butterfly, who showed her from above what the world looked like below. As an educator, I have a problem with the word try. Try means to attempt to do something and ladybug didn’t attempt to do anything until the very end when she found the sprayer wings. But that’s just my opinion.
The book is well written and the illustrations are beautiful.
An empathetic tale of Lu the Ladybug many children will resonate with. I think children will see themselves in the hesitant ladybug or in the helpers throughout the "neighborhood" -- friendly insects willing to offer meaningful encouragement. It's a great message of being brave and growing through fears, but also that we aren't alone.
The nature-based illustrations are beautiful and engaging and help tell the story quite well.
**Note: I was given a review copy of this book by the author. Opinions are my own.
Thanks so very much Ms Barannikoya for a wonderful well illustrated and colorful book. My granddaughter and I really enjoyed it. We will reread it again and again. It encourages children to try anything to become good at it. I gave this book five stars because in gives children permission to try things and become good at it. ❤️❤️👏👏🙌🙌👍👍
My sons love to follow and catch ladybugs. They observe colors, movements, and the way they fly. Ladybugs are tiny and fragile. However, they are still brave to live their lives. Why not tell a beautiful story about the art of being brave on an example of a ladybug and describe an unseen world of bugs? I hope this book will inspire lots of nature and unit studies, hunts, and cozy storytimes!
i read all three in this series ...what fun. great illustrations. i love fall best, spring and close 2nd ... winter is cool and well summer is not really a fave here in Virginia ...the humidity is not your friend. lol. i did read through KU ... so the pics are tiny and text even tiny-er ... so that i would suggest reading real hand held book instead. just my 2 senses.
This is the sweetest book with the loveliest illustrations!! My little thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in this beautiful world and hearing about Ladybug Lu’s adventures. A great book to help little’s conquer their fears!
