He wasn’t meant to inherit the earldom, and the first task awaiting the new Earl of Barrow is to clear his brother’s name. To do so, he requires the help of the one person he’d hoped to never speak to again, Miss Heloise Hamilton.
A really enjoyable read that keeps your attention throughout. Loved the characters and the plot. My gripe is that there’s no end, no plot end, no Definite HEA. No murder solved , no brotherly redemption. A great book until the end really, and a shame because I loved it.
I very much liked the premise of this story. I loved James and Heloise. Their chemistry was well done and these characters are very relatable. I enjoyed their romance. I feel like the story was incomplete – at least in terms of Elliot (James’ brother) and why he made the choices he did and his involvement in things. The story needed closure that I was not given. There was also no mention of the Earls’ club and no help from that quarter like I was expecting given the series this story is apart of.
A short sweet romance of a young man who returns to take his place as the new Earl of Barrow. His first act is to clear his late brother's name in the accusation of committing a murder. Crossing paths with a young lady from his past, she gives him clues to the crime. Unexpectedly he finds something he wasn't looking for, love. I realize why the book ended as it did, but I wish he had been able to completely fulfill his objective. A clean romance.
Aileen Fish wrote a very good story of two people finding love after years of reckless behavior.I found this book to be very enjoyable and an easy to read story. I would recommend it to anyone.
He came back once he had been notified of his brother's death. He had wanted to clear his name, so he sort all those that had known his brother prior to his ending up on that fatal voyage. However, some mysteries are very difficult to resolve.
I was disappointed in this story. Too short to allow development of characters. One plot left unfulfilled and romance too fast No mention of membership in the club
James/Barrow- new earl from war trying to clear his brothers name in a murder. Heloise- works in her uncles law firm as a secretary of sorts. I enjoyed reading this story but the plot was never brought to fruition. Though I can see why it ended way it did maybe an epilogue to explain the brothers involvement /coincidence so we are not left hang. But the couple themselves did have a loving hea. Ama
I have always liked reading this series but for some reason I was disappointed in this book. 1....it was very short not very much meat to it.....2....there wasn't the usual mischief the Earls get up to.....3....The Earl didn't really have to accept some energy to win his lady love and she didn't put up much resistance or
