Dudde! Daddy had a saucepan at one point and I thought, "Finally! Daddy's going to do some household work!", and then he just uses it to play the drums. Damn daddy. And of course, the "What is Mommy Going to Do?" shows mommy doing household work and going to work and playing with the kids. Daddy is all fun. Thank goodness he at least reads a book to the kids at bedtime. Good god. Haven't we moved beyond this yet?!?! Super disappointed.

What is Daddy Going to Do?
A lovely lift-the-flap style book that little ones will love and enjoy.

Each page starts with an image of ‘Daddy’ with a different item, followed by the repeated refrain “Daddy has a [item]. What is Daddy going to do?” Then by lifting the flap you discover what Daddy is doing, which is an activity that includes the children. For example, in one part he has a cardboard box, then you lift the page to see him playing in a cardboard pirate ship with the child.

The lovely illustrations compliment the text and show a clear image of what is happening on the page. Children would be able to look through this book independently and be able to understand what is happening without being able to read the words.

I think this is a perfect book for babies and young children to either explore independently or engage with an adult. It supports a child’s fine motor skills with its lift-the-flap contents and challenges children to think about what is going to happen next.

This is a delightful little lift the flap book for babies and toddlers.
On each page Daddy is holding or wearing something and you have to guess what daddy is going to do. For example,
'Daddy has a cardboard box. What is Daddy going to do?
He is going to build a pirate ship'

There are lots of lovely activities that daddy then does with his children (fly to the moon, explore the jungle, play in a band.)
I can imagine young children joining in with the repeated refrain 'What is Daddy going to do' and enjoying lifting the flaps to find out. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging and I can imagine most children wanting to join in and pretend to do the same activities with their own Daddy!

This charming book features diverse dads wearing or holding different articles of clothing or objects. The repeating text states what Daddy has and asks “What is Daddy Going to Do?”, encouraging children to make predictions. Bold full-color illustrations of father and child answer the question in charming, playful, and sometimes delightfully surprising ways - daddy uses his saucepan to "play in a band and make some noise!" The humorous and loving pictures will enchant small children.

I enjoyed the depictions of dads taking ordinary objects (e.g. a cardboard box, a colander) and using them for fun activities with their children. I like that each page encourages children to guess how Daddy will use the object, and each page gives a few visual clues as to what's hidden under the flap. My son really loves the lift-the-flap parts of this book, and hopefully he'll get into guessing "what Daddy's going to do" as he gets older.

Dads are featured in various garb but flaps lift to reveal the fathers in nontraditional/less predictable roles. Dad holding a stopwatch? Not going for a run but timing the family sports day. Dad with a saucepan? Not making dinner but playing it as an instrument. Nice to see busy dads having fun with their kids.

A sweet little book aimed at young children. My son is a bit too young to have a guess but he thoroughly enjoyed the bright and colourful pictures. I liked the style of the book as a parent and my son was engaged with it whilst I read it to him.

This was a cute book depicting a diverse group of father's using their imaginations to entertain their children. I loved the flaps that hid what the dad was going to do.

I think dad and their children will have fun reading this book.

My daughters really enjoyed this question and answer type of book. It was short and sweet which is great for little ones. They enjoyed the illustrations as well. This would have been great as a book with flaps.
