Audio Review:
The Starfish Rockstar Series Boxset includes:

Starfish # 1 which is Brad (guitarist) and Marin (intern) love story. This one is cute and likeable characters, however Brad did piss me off at one point. Lol. Marin was a fun character. Their romance was fun, entertaining and sensual. Witty banter between the characters. Good ending.

Narrated by Sebastian York and Erin Mallon; these two brought the characters and their story to reality.

Dear Future Shelf (Starfish # 1.5) is a novella about a second chance romance with a rock star. I absolutely loved this rekindled friendship and and new-found love for one another. Characters are compelling and a joy to listen to their love story.

Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro were fantastic with the characters emotions and brough the story to realty.

On You (Starfish #2) is my favorite in the series. This romantic comedy novella was absolutely funny and romantic. Opulence of sensual banter and laugh out loud moments. Character's are a blast the storyline is weaved with passionate moments. So hot too! Loved the ending.

Narrators Connor Crais and Stella Hunter were fantastic and my favorite.

I'm happy the author chose different narrators for each book. Great boxset.

Three couples for the price of one.

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible purchase and KU borrow with whispersync. Each book is dual POV. Complete trilogy boxset. 'Starfish' is narrated by Sebastian York and Erin Mallon. 'Dear Future Self' is narrated by Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro. 'Joke's On You' is narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais. Audiobook listed as 13 hours 36 minutes, I listened at conversational speed 1.50 for 9 hours 23 minutes (the last 4 minutes are a teaser of 'The Subway Girl'). All of the narrators read well. The ebook includes teasers for 'The Subway Girl', 'Links: A Second Chance Sports Romance', and 'Clutch: A LOL Romantic Comedy'. Trigger warnings: manager/friend betrayal and sexual harassment.

Book 1: Brad and Marin. Brad's 13 year old brother started a garage band when Brad was 9, he had Brad play the guitar, and many years later they're a very popular band. Brad is a multiple instrument prodigy who dreams of launching his own computer game. Marin (24) is fresh out of grad school with a master's in communications interning for her dream company but instead of getting assigned to the tech firm she wanted she is assigned as a rock band's intern. Brad and Marin find their HEA but it comes at the cost of Marin's job and Brad's band.

Book 2: Jason and Camille. They were best friends growing up but when Jason decided to change his life and pursue his dreams Camille was suddenly and without reason dropped from Jason's life. Years later Jason is a solo artist living his dream and Camille is still in the same small town they grew up in, teaching high school music, and living in her parents' home (sadly both of her parents have passed away). Jason and Camille are forced to work together when their favorite teacher passes away and leaves them in charge of his last wishes. They find their HEA after Jason realizes Brad was right about his manager.

Book: 3 Oliver and Rowan. Oliver is a child piano prodigy who joined his friend's garage band as a teenager then when the band broke up joined a new band as their keyboardist. Rowan is a jewelry designer working as a photographer and editor for a magazine until she can afford to start her own jewelry company. On a random night out with friends Oliver and Rowan meet and quickly fall into bed together. Rowan sneaks away the next morning while Oliver is showering, leaving him with a short goodbye note. Oliver quickly finds out her details from his friend but has to wait until he's finished with his tour before he can pursue Rowan. Luckily things work out and while they're not married or engaged in the end they are living together and happy. JP

🌟Starfish is Lisa Becker’s next standalone and first rockstar romance. I have read a few of her books and have enjoyed them so I just had to have this one. And look at that cover. It’s adorable and so Brad and Marin.

Marin has landed a Summer intern position with one of the top PR firms in LA. She was excited when she was told that she would be working at a Tech firm in Seattle. So she was shocked to be meeting a rock band called Kings Quarter. A band in the middle of a tour. A band starting the summer leg of said tour. A tour she would be joining for four months. Not working in Seattle. She knows nothing about rock bands except for what she has seen in the movies. She was anything but excited about this. That was until she got to know Brad. The sexy guitarist who wears glasses and is a bit of a nerd.

Brad wanted her from the moment he saw her. And when she put on her glasses? She was his sexy geek fantasy come to life. She definitely was not the type of girl he could only have once. She also was a bit reserved so he needed to go slow. She was a little workaholic which was amazing for the band but he wanted her to have fun as well. To make friends. To enjoy her time on the road. And when her roommate keeps taking up her room, it’s the perfect opportunity to get to know her. Watching Seinfeld and falling asleep wrapped in each other’s arms. It was a start but can he show her that he wants more?

Marin doesn’t mix business with pleasure. She wants Brad. Bad. But she can’t risk her career for a summer fling. That’s all it could ever be. He is a rock star who tours the world. She is a woman who stays in one place. It would never work. Or can it?

I enjoyed Brad and Marin’s story. I thought it was adorable, witty, flirty, sexy, and fun. I do love a slow burn but it was a bit too slow in the beginning. I loved their connection. Their friendship. It was so much fun and cute. It also has some heat in there with his words. I loved him! I loved Marin but it took me longer to fall for her. I did like that she didn’t just go for it. She had to think it through but it was frustrating at the same time.

Overall...it’s a flirty, fun, sexy, and witty story. I loved the main characters. I also enjoyed the rest of the band. They are not typical rock stars and still have so much fun. That was refreshing.

Quotes:

“Uthafucka!” yells Jase again as he pushes forward to attack Oliver.

“Oh, did I hurt your fragile ego?” I mock.
“Woman, don’t be starting something you can’t end,” he retorts.

“Let me help you into bed and I’ll order some pickles and ice cream from room service,” I suggest.
She laughs hard now. “I’m not pregnant and this isn’t a nineties sitcom,” she replies with a raised brow.
“Okay, what? Chocolate?” I ask. “Ah-ha! I nailed it. With that look in your eyes I know I’ve said the magic words.”

🌟DEAR FUTURE SELF

Dear Future Self is a novella spin-off to Starfish by Lisa Becker. You do not have to read it beforehand since this is about a different couple and a few years later. I do recommend reading it since it was an adorable, flirty, and fun story. This one is shorter but I absolutely loved it. I liked Jase in Starfish but fell for him in this one.

Jase was now a solo artist and killing it in the music scene. He has enjoyed the lifestyle over the years but he is tired. So tired. So when he got a call that he needed to be home, he was out on the next flight. It wasn’t under the best of circumstances. His favorite high school teacher had passed away and he was requested to be home for the reading of the Will. He had no idea that it would change his life.

Cami hasn’t seen him in a decade. Not since he graduated and went out to Hollywood and became famous. They were best friends since they started singing in the church choir at the age of four. She missed him but she also hated him for just walking away from their friendship. And now, they have to work together to give Mr. Hancock a memorial service that he deserved. Can she really be this close to him without kissing or killing him?

There is of course more to the story but I can’t go there. I will say that I loved every minute of it. It’s a second chance romance with a twist. The characters are lovable, witty, and beautiful.

Quotes:

“Wow,” I scoff, deciding not to let her insult go unanswered. “That’s a pretty big assumption for someone who doesn’t even know me anymore.”
“And who’s fault is that?”

“I know what I’m doing,” she smirks.
“I have no doubt about that,” I respond with a snort.

“They may have borrowed my body, but you’ve always owned my heart.”
“Is that a cheesy line from a new song?” She playfully scowls at me and furrows her brow.
“No. It’s you. It’s how I feel about you. You’ve always liked me for who I was, not what I became.”

🌟JOKE’S ON YOU

Joke’s on You is a novella in the Starfish series by Lisa Becker. You can one hundred percent read it as standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading the series. I have been slowly falling for Oliver, the practical joke master since the beginning. He just brings in extra fun to the group.

Rowan needed a night of fun. A few drinks. Some dancing with her best friend. A night to let go. What she didn’t expect was him. A man with cheesy lines and swoon-worthy good looks. She wasn’t looking to be hit on. She went to a gay bar to avoid it but when one dance lends to a few and talking lends to leaving together, it’s on. She wants this. A one-night stand with someone she knows can deliver a good night.

Oliver has had his share of one-night stands and he was totally fine with Rowan being one of them. That was until he felt more. He wanted to talk to her. Know more about her. That was even before the sex. And after? He was done. He liked this girl. A lot. No jokes about it. Then, she is gone. No last name. No number. No see you later...

That was until he saw her again. He knew he couldn’t just let her walk away this time. He wanted her too much. He wit. Her strength. Her passion. And she liked him for him. Not a man who was in one of the biggest bands in the world. She liked him as a struggling artist. But is their connection and chemistry enough? What if he is called up to go on tour? What if she doesn’t want the same thing?

Ok, this is a novella but it didn’t feel like one. It has so much heart, story, passion, and sexiness. It packs a punch! I loved these two. Oliver is funny, sweet, swoony and just wants to be loved by someone that gets him. Rowan is sweet, witty, sassy, and wants to be loved by someone who respects her. Together, they are on fire! Plus, so adorable.

Quotes:

“You know, according to chemistry, alcohol is a solution,” I throw out. It’s another one of my terrible pick-up lines, but judging by the way her lips curl into a smile, I don’t think she minds.

The music soars, and my heart follows. The fluttering in my belly matches the fluttering further below, because good lord, the boy has game. Oliver at the piano is sexual catnip.

“Wow! You made these?”
“I did.”
“And you say my hands make magic,” he sort of huffs out in wonder.
It’s the sweetest sound imaginable. “That’s quite possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.” I duck my head, feeling overwhelmed.

What a fun and steamy collection about 3 sexy rock stars and the 3 smart and sassy women who love them!
#1 Starfish
4.5 Steamy Adorkable Stars!
I absolutely loved this delightful, sweet and steamy forbidden romance. Marin is so excited to land an internship for a tech company, only to find out they placed her as the pr person for a rock band on a summer tour. She is so out of her element and knows nothing about the band, Kings Quarters. But she has a great sense of humor and is able to roll with the crazy antics by the band members. Brad is the lead guitarist and an adorkable hero. He is tired of the rockstar life and would rather work on developing his computer programs. When sweet and sexy Marin steps on the bus, the sparks fly between them. I loved how they were friends first and still committed to doing their jobs. But the chemistry between them was smoldering throughout. I fell for Marin, Brad, all the band members and Marin's roommate, Grace. They all felt genuine, and added so much fun and emotion to this story. I was completely addicted to Erin Mallon, and Sebastian York's amazing narration! They were superb as Marin and Brad as they brought the fun and nerdy couple to life. I easily felt all the awkward moments, passion, heartbreak, joy, and love these characters felt. I loved both their deliveries as they made this hilarious, heartwarming, sweet and sexy story pure perfection!

#1.5 Dear Future Self
I loved this second book in the Starfish series! Even though is was a novella, I really cared for, and became invested in Jason and Cami's second chance at love. They were best friends who were becoming more when Jason left Cami behind to become a successful rock star. Now he is home for a funeral and he and Cami must work together to plan it. It is a bit rough at first with Cami feeling hurt from being forgotten so easily. But the more time they spend together, getting to know each other now, old feelings and desires come back to life. Jason wants to be a better man for not only Cami but for himself. But it won't be easy to make it work when their careers take them so far away from each other. This is a sweet, and sizzling romance brought to life flawlessly by Tim Paige, and a cameo from Kelsey Navarro. Paige really captured the feel of this friends to lovers romance. He did a great job with the different voices and his inflections were spot on. This is a quick and enjoyable addition to the Starfish series!

#2 Joke's On You
This is an irresistibly sweet and funny rom-com. Rowan and Oliver meet one night and have an incredible night of passion, never expecting to see each other again. But they really enjoyed each other and connected in a way they didn't see coming. Rowan is a professional photographer but her passion is to make jewelry. She has a boss who is a real creep but needs this job until she gets her jewelry business off the ground. Oliver is a famous Rockstar and he likes that Rowan doesn't know who he is. He likes how smart and funny she is and that she likes him for who he is. He wants to help her but she wants to be successful on her own. Will they be able to make it work when she discovers who he is and when they are both so stubborn? There is so much to love about this story, from the quick wit and banter, to the lovable quirky characters, to the sizzling passion, and every hilarious, heartwarming, awkward moment in between that will leave you smiling for days.
Connor Crais and Stella Hunter did a great job narrating this hilarious romcom and bringing it to life. Their comedic timing and inflections were spot on as they delivered Becker's witty banter flawlessly. I really enjoyed both their performances and thought they made this hilarious, heartfelt, and sweet & steamy romance even better!

The Starfish Series Box Set
A Steamy and Humorous Rock Star Romance Series
By: Lisa Becker
Narrated by: Sebastian York, Erin Mallon, Tim Paige, Kelsey Navarro, Stella Hunter, Connor Crais

I am a huge fan of Rock Stars and Rock Star Romance novels and Lisa Becker’s Starfish series is one of my favorites. Ms. Becker is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, I loved the characters and storylines she created, they are original and unique, nope they are not your typical angsty rockstars they are so much more. In the first book, “Starfish” you not only meet the members of the band “Kings Quarters” but you join them on tour as well. You will fall in love with each one of them, Jase, Johnny, Oliver, Craig and Brad. Marin is interning with a public relations firm, while it was not her choice assignment she gets to tour with the band for the summer. The second book, “Dear Future Self” is Jase & Cami’s story, it is a fabulous second chance story with interesting storylines that are unique and original. The third book, “Joke’s on You” is Oliver & Rowan’s story, a fitting title for Oliver since he was the prankster of the band. He finally finds his special someone but he kind of has his work cut out for him. I loved each one of these books, it is great to get lost in Lisa Becker’s stories and the world she built. More detailed reviews for each book follows.

Starfish ~ Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Sebastian York

I loved everything about this book, from Lisa Becker’s wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines and she created to Erin Mallon & Sebastian York’s amazing narration. Heck, I even love the title and the story behind it. ;) I am a huge fan of Rock Star romance books and Lisa Becker does not disappoint, her storylines are original and different then your typical angsty romance, which I found refreshing in many ways. The characters are complex and well developed. I adored Marin and Brad as well as his bandmates. I loved the camaraderie amongst the band members and the pranks they played. Marin landed a much wanted summer internship with the public relations firm. She was excited thinking she will be doing P.R for a tech company in Seattle. But when she and the other interns received their assignment she learned her assignment was changed, she would be working with and going on tour with “Kings Quarters”, an up and coming rock band. She got to meet the manager, Damon and band members Jase, Johnny, Oliver, Craig and Brad just before going on their bus for a four month tour. Brad was instantly attracted to her, she was attracted to him too but vowed to never get involved with someone she works for and will keep it completely professional. These two were great together and for each other, they become good friends & confidants. He wanted to take their relationship to another level and knew she was afraid but he is a patient man. I loved how well plotted this book is, a lot goes on and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some great humor, some heartfelt moments, heartbreaking ones, twists with betrayals as well as a slow burn romance. Lisa Becker, thank you for this awesome story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

Dear Future Self: A Starfish Novella ~Narrated by: Tim Paige, Kelsey Navarro

One of the reasons I loved “Starfish”, the first book in the series was the amazing characters, I was so happy to hear Lisa Becker was not done with them. Jase Connors was the lead singer of “Kings Quarter” before the band imploded, Damon, the band’s manager took Jase out on his own and he became a successful solo artists. While on tour his Mom calls to inform him Mr. Hancock, his HS teacher who he had a good relationship with, passed away. Jase returned home for the funeral, he also learns Mr. Hancock left something in his will for him. Cami Ossining was good friends with Jase, they’ve known each other since they were young kids, she knew him when he was just Jason McNamara, the kid next door and boy she crushed on, but he went on to be famous and forgot all about her. When Jase went to the reading of the will she was there, while he was glad to see her, she was not thrilled to see him and he could not understand why until he realized how he treated and ignored her. But the two had to work together to follow thru on Mr. Hancock’s last wishes. I loved how everything plays out in this book, also love how much story Lisa Becker managed to fit in this novella sized book. It is well written and cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartfelt moments and some hot romance. It was great to hear a little about Brad and Marin, great to see Damon has not changed his conniving ways, too NOT! So glad all works out in the end and they get their happily ever after. Thank you for another awesome story, I loved the premise of “Dear Future Self”, loved Cami and Jase’s letters too and Mr. Hancock’s sly move. 🎧📚🎧 Lisa Becker chose the perfect cast to bring this story and its characters to life, Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro are talented narrators and voice artists. Tim Paige is a rock star, he portrayed Jason perfectly, captured his personality and all his emotions which can be heard in his performance, he did a great job with all the other characters too. Kelsey Navarro knocked it out of the park in the final chapter with Mia’s POV, she too grasped her character’s persona perfectly.

Joke’s On You ~ Narrated by: Stella Hunter, Connor Crais

Oliver Eastland was the prankster of the bunch and one of my favorite characters. And I am so happy that he got his own book, it is great to see him again and to learn more of who he is and where life has taken him. If you have not started this series I highly recommend that you do and now is the perfect time because it is offered in a box set. Oliver is doing well for himself these days, each member went their own way after Kings Quarters split up. Oliver a musical prodigy still makes music and plays, he always liked to stay in the background so instead of joining a band he just tours with them. One night he decides to go out with the band after a photo shoot. It is a gay club and he was not expecting to meet any one but he does, he meets and hooks up with Rowan Edwards. Rowan Edwards works as an assistant photo editor, it is not what she wants to do but it pays her bills. Her dream job is something she does on the side, she designs her own jewelry and one day it will pay her bills. She is good at her photography gob but has a boss who is inappropriate, she deals with him for now but she is smart about how she handles him. After a bad day at work she and her roommate and best friend Rolando go out for drinks at Haven, a hot gay club. Rowan does not normally do one night stands but she and Oliver hit is off, there was something about him that drew her to him. They had one hot night together but she left in the morning without a word. Oliver knew he had to see her again and did just that. This may be a novella sized book but it sure does pack a whole lot of story, I loved the witty dialogue and how everything plays out. The story is cleverly plotted with drama, a touch of angst, humor, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. 🎧📚🎧 Stella Hunter and Connor Crais are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying these characters, humanizing them as they bring them and their story to life. I love how they take each role and make it their own while sounding natural and believable in that role. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor flawlessly.

Thanks for the awesome listen!

Oh My Goodness I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this boxset.
As a Rockstar romance addict, this was the perfect read for me because these 3 books are incredible.
I honestly did not want them to end.
I completely fell in love with every single character in the band Kings Quarter and each of their Romances made me laugh, cry and swoon and each story had me hooked.
Lisa Becker's words flowed easily and I was quickly and totally absorbed into this world were
Brad and Marin,
Jase and Cami
Oliver and Rowan fall in Love one by one finding their better half to make them whole and finding their way to follow their dreams. There is also Brad's brother Craig who is already in a couple and in love with Phoebe.I honestly cannot choose a favourite couple or story because they all blended perfectly together..But Marin and Brad are the main characters as they build up an unexpected friendship while going from place to place on a tour bus.
Their attraction is magnetic but forbidden as Marin works for the band...and if they give in to their attraction Marin could posibly lose her job.
These 3 books are rockstar heaven !! I was thoroughly and completely invested in this story and the 2 novella's that follow and I could not get enough...and OMG The pranks between Jase and Oliver are so Hilarious I laughed out loud more than once,I could not hide the smile on my face,or the emotions that stirred within me when I would be swooning at some gesture a character made.
I enjoyed each story so so much and I only wish there was more.
Lisa Becker has created a phenomenal Rockstar romance that surprised me with how perfect and unique it was.
This boxset has everything you could ever want to fulfil your romantic needs.
Absolutely Amazing !!
I highly recommend it.
5 incredible Stars.

Starfish

This was a great rock band story, what started as a job soon turned to love. With people working against them, the relationship went off course, but soon was put right again. Loved it
Narration was awesome.

Dear future me

Loved this story of a rockstar going home to fulfil a will request. He finds the girl he left behind and finds she still loves him. But an inside person is sabotaging their relationship. With perseverance he makes it right.
Narration was awesome.

Jokes on you

This rockstar just wants to be recognised for the person he is. Not the rockstar that is portrayed.
What started as a one night stand, soon turns to more when he tracks her down. She doesn’t recognise him so he can just be himself. Then they fell in love and he gets his happily ever after.
Narration was awesome.

deceit box set

This was a deceit box set expect there was not equal time spent on the three stories. It seemed the first book was the main story and the others were just continuations. The characters relationships were just fast forwarded and not developed. Still it was a good read.

This is collection of rock star romances with promising plots and appealing characters that describe the trials and tribulations of nomad life and the resulting repercussions it has on their personal lives. The steamiest romance is Joke’s on You narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais but all are well executed despite the cliched scenes and the predictable third act breakups. Kudos to Sebastian York, Erin Mallon, Tim Paige and the short cameo performance by Kelsey Navarro for adding to my listening pleasure.
