I am just getting familiar with Real Estate Investment Trusts. This book provided the best introduction, foundational understanding and analysis techniques for REITs I have found. Though I have only been looking for investing and finance books since 2015, this book definitely provides the most comprehensive explanation on REITs for the retail investor in my opinion.
Decent book on how real estate and REITs work. Also teaches what to look out for and how to evaluate whether a REIT is a good investment or not. However, this book doesn’t give clear instruction on how to implement specific steps when evaluating REIT investment opportunities as it does not go into details or present investment case studies.
The technical part of the book focuses on assessing the quality of a REIT from three perspectives; property types, balance sheet strengths and management capabilities.
I gave the 4 stars because there no section on global REIT investing.
I recommend the book to anyone advising or investing in REITs.
