Trish Morey always fancied herself a writer, but was sternly advised that she better better think about getting a real job instead. Which Trish figures must be why she spent her university years washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant by night and picking gherkins for an Adelaide Hills primary producer by day. (Enough to put you off "real jobs" for life).

It was another twelve years, an accounting career and two babies on that Trish once again turned her mind to writing. it was a further eleven years (and two more babies:)) before Trish sold her first book to Harlequin Presents, and her dream of being a published author came true.

Some forty books later, Trish is now an award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author of some 40+ books. Trish still loves writing romance but these days combines it with all the fun, drama and sisterhood of women, family and girlfriends.

When she’s not out traveling the world in search of inspiration for her stories, Trish lives with her husband, Daisy their over enthusiastic Cavoodle pup, Daisy, and Leo, their very old and totally unenthusiastic cat, down on the glorious South Coast of South Australia where the waves crash over the granite rocks and splash upon the golden sands.

Trish reckons she has the best job in the world.

‘I dreamed about this,’ he said.

She was breathless all over again. ‘You dreamed about kissing me?’

‘More. I dreamed about spending the rest of the night with you.’

Light, romantic and fluffy, with minimal angst.

A lowly hotel maid heroine gets her chance to attend a glitzy Venetian masquerade ball, with a prince who's withheld his real identity from her.

Rosa, our tenacious young heroine, has just moved from a tiny village in Puglia, Italy, to work at a small Venetian hotel. She meets Vittorio, the prince of Andachstein, when he saves her after she gets lost in the fog and crowds.

Vittorio is a sweet and chivalrous H, who's filled with insta-lust and invites the heroine to be his date at an upscale ball. He's got a hidden motive as well: there's a desperate OW called Sirena, who's chasing after him. He decides to use Rosa as a buffer between him and the title hunting OW.

The first half of the novel was the better part. It's filled with more romance and passion, since it details the MC's special one night stand and the events that led up to it. There's even a little hint of the Cinderella experience, because the heroine forgets her earring in the H's bed.

I could've given this 4 stars, but the storytelling started to drag a little, in the second half. The H returns to Andachstein and decided to marry a suitable woman, because his dying father resorted to some emotional blackmail. Meanwhile, the heroine's pregnant and uncertain about what's instore for her in the future.

Then, when he returns to give her the lost earring, he learns she's pregnant with his son and proposes. There's not much angst, except for the H's big tantrum on their wedding night, when she blurts out her love for him and he rejects it because he's not a believer, especially after his first dead wife had cheated on him.

I found the novel interesting but not intensely romantic - especially the latter half. The H's declaration of love, after Rosa's accident, was rather bland. It was literally a case of both MC's just exchanging the ritual I Love You's and then having their HEA.

The epilogue was lovely, since it's set right after the birth of their son. But, there was one thing that confused me: Towards the end of the novel, the OW Sirena is all dressed up and excited to have a tea date with the H's father. Sirena's an opportunist and we're told the H's dad is planning to have heart surgery to save his life.

Maybe I'm over-reaching, but I got the idea that the H's dad and the vile OW were going to end up together. That's unsettling, because the OW loathes the heroine. I had hoped this would've been cleared up in the epilogue, but nothing is mentioned.

Either the author forgot about it or it was just included as an irrelevant scene. My point is: that final scene with the OW just ended up being useless/ineffective. This shows poor plotting on the author's part, because scenes with key minor characters like Sirena, should always serve a purpose instead of being just filler...

Safety: No cheating and both MC's are celibate during their separation. However, the H did go on a series of platonic dates with a few candidates vying for the position of his future wife. There's no OM.

The Turn Around for the hero was not believable

I loved this book and it was a total five-star until the last chapters. He was pushing her away and then boom, be his n love. It wasn't believable enough for me. I don't want to totally spoil this so I will be vague but it was just too fast. Like the author found she had enough pages and just wrapped it up. That was my only concern. The rest was a beautiful Cinderella story with a housecleaning heroine and a Prince. There was no fairy Godmother or glass slippers just a homemade dress and a pearl earring that was left behind. I did liked that he kept that earring and didn't sleep with anyone for the twelve weeks they were apart. Yes he was wife hunting but he didn't fool around with them. I loved when He found out she was pregnant he didn't question it and just took over. He did push her away on their wedding night but you could see He was falling in love. I really did enjoy this book but I did deduct one star for the quick and unbelievable turn on the love thing. I would still read this again though. It's a Cinderella story after all.

"Prince's Virgin in Venice" is the story of Rosa and Vittorio.

WOW. This was terrible.

The h and H meet in a masquerade party in Venice, when the h gets lost in the city. There is mutual attraction which leads to a ONS. The hero hides his real princely identity from her, and basically sleeps with her to push OW off.
Anyways, fast forward to present. Heroine is knocked up. Hero needs an heir as he's being forced to wed for his kingdom. He realizes the boons of his lions have come to fruition, and coerces heroine to marry him. After minimal drama, and successfully determining the baby's gender to be male, she agrees and marries this dbag. Some past issues resurface, which they quickly resolve at the end.

I hated the book. I come from a culture where gender determination for fetus is rampant and girl child is killed off, and this book was a trigger for me.

This was a nice, light, no-angst read that started off great but fell flat toward the end.

Vittorio, a prince of a small principality is making his way through the carnival crowded roads of Venice to a grand ball hosted by his close friend, Marcello. He is angry having been told by his father that the woman waiting to marry him, Countess Sirena --having got blessings of both their fathers who're best friends, a woman he dislikes-- would be attending the ball. Among the jostling crowd, he sees this beautiful blonde who seems to have lost her way. Rosa and her friend, Chiara, -both working as maids at a hotel in Venice- had bought a ticket to the cheapest ball on Carnival night. Chiara was holding Rosa's phone and ticket and all of a sudden they lost each other in the crowd and Rosa couldn't make out where she was when this handsome princely looking man approaches her and offers to help her and eventually she ends up being his partner to the grandest ball in Venice. Vittorio is charmed by the beautiful Rosa and decides use her company to keep Sirena away.

Loved the part where Marcello referred to Sirena as an evil serpent although having not met Sirena as yet Rosa didn't understand it.
‘So, tell me,’ she said, ‘what is this Princess hiding from?’
‘That’s easy,’ he said. ‘An evil serpent. But don’t worry. Vittorio will protect you. There’s not a serpent in the land that’s a match for Vittorio.’
Something passed between the two men’s eyes. A look. An understanding.
‘What am I missing?’ she asked, her eyes darting from one to the other.
‘The fun,’ Marcello said, pulling his mask back on.

Enjoyed the entire ball sequence especially the part where Rosa, to Vittorio's delight, sends Sirena scuttling from the room having recognized she is a bully and having grown up with three older brothers who taught her how to stand up against bullies. What I did find odd was that everyone at the ball came to know that Vittorio had rescued a lost Rosa and brought her to the ball. Why would a prince, especially if he's trying to avoid someone as calculating as Sirena, let his personal business become public? He doesn't tell Rosa he's a prince and she never finds out until after her pregnancy.

From the ball they end up spending the night at his palazzo and toward the early morning Rosa slips out without informing him. Later Vittorio finds a earring of hers and think he should return it but doesn't. Instead, he carries it with him wherever he goes. The following day when Rosa goes back to the palazzo for her earring the housekeeper rudely tells her Vittorio has gone back home and she didn't find any earring whilst cleaning.

Vittorio's father is upset he didn't set a wedding date with Sirena. The two of them had never got along well and after his mother's death, they just drifted apart. His father then tells him he is dying and gives him three months to marry again. Yes, Vittorio, was married before to woman of his father's choice, but whom he fell in love with it. However, his wife was having an extra-marital affair with her pilot when they both died in a crash. He refuses to select a bride of his father's choice again and so ropes in Marcello to help him select a bride. Found it amusing - Marcello's frustration at Vittorio's inability to select a bride even after meeting them and that he didn't feel incline to sleep with them although he found them nice. And, suddenly Vittorio who was holding the earring in his hand remembers he hadn't returned it to Rosa and takes that excuse to see her and rushes out from the room leaving Marcello wondering what's going on.

When he does find Rosa, he gets to know she's pregnant and he's happy all his problems for marriage are solved. Rosa is shocked to know he's a prince and that her unborn baby would be a prince. She tells Vittorio he'd have to go with her to her village to meet her family and take permission from her father to marry her. He agrees and gets a dose of what family love is. The weekend the two spend with her family was fun especially Vittorio's nervousness meeting his to-be-father-in-law when he was never afraid to meet his own grumpy father and him counting the shots the older man drank and made him. drink. Add to it his frustration that Rosa wouldn't sleep with him at her father's house and in fact not until the wedding.

The wedding was nice and consummation of their marriage that got marred when Rosa tells Vittorio she loved him and he gets angry and tells her never to say that to him again because he's incapable of loving. But, Rosa by now knows him well and doesn't believe he's incapable of loving and is sure he'll come around soon.

It's cut to few weeks later where Vittorio is with his father who's happy with his daughter-in-law and wants to see his grandchild and so has decided to go in for surgery. All along Vittorio is thinking about his marriage with Rosa. Although, they've settled well and doing their royal duties together, there's a little strain on their marital bed with Rosa not saying a word during their love-making. Then, he gets to know Rosa was in a freak accident and as he rushes to the hospital in fear he regrets not telling her how much he loves her and relieved to see she's fine and not badly hurt except for her ankle, he confesses his love for her.

The epilogue was sweet. I agree with my good friend Carmen (Ivy-H) that the OW's sudden picnic with Vittorio's father toward the end when there was nothing her in the epilogue made no sense at all.

Overall, a nice, decent read.

A light and enjoyable book, though the second half did get a bit boring. This book also contained a pet peeve of mine in that the first meeting/night took up almost half the book! When this happens, the second half is always too rushed.

Vittorio must marry for the sake an heir, in comes shy hotel made Rosa who on paper should be totally wrong but just might have enough backbone to turn this Prince into a true hero. Brilliant read.

Venice the city of love, is it? Trish Morey has taken me to this beautiful city and bought to life a real Cinderella story of love and passion as Vittorio finds hotel maid Rosa lost on the streets during Carnevale and asks her to accompany him to Venice’s exclusive Carnival Ball, where life will change forever for them both.

Prince Vittorio is in a hurry to the ball, he has a lot on his mind like the pressure he is getting from his father to marry, not what he wants love is never going to happen for him not after the last time. He comes across a beautiful woman dressed as a courtesan lost in the streets of Venice during a fog, he rescues her and takes her to the ball where she helps him with a problem and then takes her home and what a sensual night it is but Rosa is gone before he awakes in the morning, but he cannot get her out of his mind.

Rosa comes from a little village in Italy and is working hard as a maid in a hotel, she has saved all of her money for a ticket on the last night of Carnevale when she is separated from her friends with no way of finding her way back when she is rescued by a warrior or so he seems and takes a chance on going to a ball with him. Rosa has never felt this sensual pull before to any man and is thrilled to go home with Vittorio, he promises one night only, but weeks later there is consequences and Rosa has no way of finding him.

I loved this story the Cinderella troupe is one of my favourites and this one had me from page one, Vittorio cannot forget Rosa and returns to Venice to return something she left behind, and is thrilled to learn of the consequences. Vittorio is strong and caring hero who fell for Rosa almost instantly even if it took him a while to realize it and Rosa strong stubborn and so very lovable, finding out Vittorio is a prince shocks Rosa and then to marry without love is hard for Rosa but she will show Vittorio that he can love. Fabulous story one that I highly recommend a must read for romance lovers.

3.5 stars. I really liked it, the only problem I have with these stories is that they’re not long enough. Like this could have easily turned into a 5 star story for me if it was longer. The big issue between Vittorio and Rosa could have developed a little more (and it wouldn’t have been fixed so quickly either). I would’ve loved if she heard the conversation between Vittorio and his father. I felt like Rosa was painted out to be this heroine that isn’t a doormat, but she just agreed to whatever Vittorio wanted. I would’ve like to see her fight him more. Cute story though.

It could be more but sadly there are some points in here that I dislike. 1. The H and H's father that are both sexist. They need the baby to be a boy and if it's a girl? It wouldn't matter? The H would not marry the h? what? It was never mentioned or discussed. 2. The H-Had-a-wife-and-she-was-a-unfaithful-bitch-and-now-dead-but-he-loved-her kind of troop is not one of my favourite but whatever. 3. The ending was so rushed, sadly not impressed by the love confession. Well, it was quite enjoyable if I could overlook those points I just stated.

Prince's Virgin in Venice

A fairy tale love. A masquerade at carnival time in Venice brought together two very different people for one night. She a maid, he a true prince. But can reality and dreams merge for a forever love? In this story both can and do.

Ngl, this book is boring. The story line is interesting but the narration is very boring. The heroine is a maid from a little hotel, she met the hero when she lost. Flash forward, the heroine got pregnant and the hero needed a wife. The hero wouldn't admit that he loved her because of his past. But at the end, they loved each other. Happy ending.
